Like other reviews, I was hesitant to come to a place called the Malted Barley. However, once I said gluten allergy they assured me everything is prepared separately and my food would be brought out separately as well. It is very rare to come across a good GF soft pretzel but this place takes the cake. I had the grilled cheese pretzel sandwich (good, but maybe a little *too* cheesy for me) and I can’t wait to try something else the next time! Also it is dog friendly and you can order “beer” for your dog! (They said it’s more like a broth that is filled with healthy ingredients for them). A very interesting and safe place.

I really was hesitant to try this place, especially with the name and that they make their own GF pretzels and pretzel buns in house (with regular pretzels.) After talking to multiple workers, I felt confident that they they were taking the needed precautions very seriously. I had a BLT on a Gf pretzel bun. It was delicious! They make their own sauces and the garlic aioli was a game changer. I also took a pretzel home with honey mustard dipping sauce. It was also amazing! I have celiac and usually react immediately. I had no reaction on that day or in the days to follow. I will definitely be returning!

Menu identifies gluten free options for each menu item. Kitchen prepares gluten free items separately from non-gluten free items (separate kitchen utensils and preparation containers). Food runners will keep gluten free items separate from non-gluten free items.

Pretzel-based menu (appetizers with GF dipping sauces and sandwiches) and all but stuffed pretzels are available gluten free for an extra $1 over menu prices. Gluten free beer, cider, and varying other beverages too.
