This place is truly a hidden gem for the GF people of this area! I drive 45 minutes out of the way just to dine at the Red Lion. Turns out one of the owners and the chef’s wife are both celiac, so this establishment is extremely cognizant of GF dishes/cross contamination/etc! They even have a designated GF fryer!
The first time I came here was for a family dinner, and I honestly didn’t expect to be able to eat anything.. was I ever wrong! They had so many options: appetizers, main dishes, and even a delicious flourless chocolate cake for dessert!
My favorite dish is the pork belly and brussel sprouts, it melts in your mouth. They also do a GF bang bang shrimp that is very good (but must be requested GF, otherwise they will bread the shrimp). They have plenty of other options too, I just love these two dishes so much I haven’t explored the others yet.
I honestly can’t give this place enough praise for creating a welcoming environment for GF people to celebrate special events (hosted a birthday here) or just to enjoy a nice dinner with family. They make me feel normal, and I love that!
