Review of The Roadhouse Mexican Bar & Grill

LIP-SMACKING & GLUTEN-FREE IN BENZONIA! They are usually pretty knowledgable about what’s safe for gluten-free. Most items are marked clearly on their menu...HOWEVER, if you order something that comes with rice, the Mexican rice is NOT GLUTEN-FREE. They’re usually good about substituting another side though. They cook their own chips in fresh oil at the beginning of their day, so the chips are safe with salsa and queso (yay!!). This is a great option if you’re gluten-free in NW Michigan! Be prepared to wait if you’re dining in, but takeout is pretty speedy. You’ll just have to keep trying to call, because they don’t have call-waiting and you can’t call until after 4 PM.
