Very accommodating. The manager comes to the table and tells you everything you can make gluten free. There is NOT a dedicated fryer so French fries and stuff are cross contaminated. My food came out with an allergy marker and I had no reaction! I had the beef short rib taco. I believe all tacos and salads can be made gluten free. They have a gluten free bun that used on the burgers and sandwiches.

Oh my goodness!!!! They really take care of celiac folks, like myself, here. They went over and beyond. I didn’t get sick. I wish all places took the time and effort like Stray Dog did.

Fun to eat at such an iconic place. Beautiful restaurant, beautiful location. Only a few GF/DF options. I had the cilantro lime rice bowl with braised short rib. It was excellent. Server was knowledgeable and brought over a manager who was on top of everything!

Ordered the Tinga Chicken Tacos and they were BOMB. My server was so accommodating and asked me if I had Celiac or if it was an allergy. She then informed me about their gf buns if I ever wanted to try something else! She also double checked that what I ordered was gf. They were so good def give them a try!!

Not a lot of options (mostly just burgers), but they do seem to know what they're doing. No dedicated fryer, teriyaki sauce is not gluten free.

We had a great experience here. No GF menu, but my daughter got a burger on GF bun & they were very alert about her dairy allergy too.

We stopped here based on previous reviews while we were visiting the Indiana Dunes National Park. The wait was short. Service excellent. Our server was knowledgeable and didn’t seem bothered by my questions. I ordered the Cobb Salad and it came out with an allergy toothpick marker.

Overall, food was decent and I felt safe dining here. GF options are not marked on the menu. I tried calling in advance to ask about options but was not given any specific answers. When I was there in person and ordered, I told my waitress I have celiac and to please let the kitchen know it’s a gluten allergy, and she was already on it. My food came out with an allergy marker too. I ordered the shrimp tacos that come with corn tortillas- they were alright. I was just happy to eat out, and did not have any reactions. They also have GF buns but I wasn’t sure about CC being an issue with sandwich ingredients.

The Stray Dog is amazing! A rooftop bar and excellent staff set this restaurant apart from the rest! The manager walked me through so many options-I had the shrimp tacos because they were recommended by others on this site-highly recommend!

Had a delicious burger with GF bun and coleslaw! No GF options marked on the menu, but staff was knowledgeable about what I could eat, and food came out marked for allergy. Great place to come with friends!

There was no separate menu or items were not marked. The server checked with the chef to ask what was safe. I had the shrimp tacos, which were delicious. The chef made sure to take precautions against cross contamination. They also have GF buns for burgers and sandwiches. No issues after eating there! 😀

No gluten free menu, but server was knowledgeable and cheerfully explained gluten free options; specifically mentioned that any deep fried items were not safe. I had the peel and eat shrimp which was very good. My entree arrived with a wooden marker labeled “Allergy” to ensure safe handling. Location near harbor and beach means it can get extremely busy with long wait for seating. Indoor seating and bar area is very nice, but the outdoor rooftop is spectacular on a nice day or evening.

Shrimp tacos were great. The server was knowledgeable and recommended what would be safe to eat as there is no gluten free menu.

The staff was very knowledgeable about celiac. The manager came over to our table and talked to us about preparing food separate. I had shrimp tacos with no problems! Great food, wine, and service.

When staff told celiac disease manager Ginger came over and was extremely knowledgeable of cross contamination. Took the time to answer questions. Although not marked gf on menu there were many options

This restaurant did a great job to accommodate my Celiac son. There a allergy specialist who came to our table to discuss options of what the chef could do. It was great.

No dedicated menu but they have gluten free buns so burgers and sandwiches are options. They also have corn tortilla so they can modify their tacos to be gluten free plus many salad options. Waitress was very knowledgeable.
Great gluten free bun!
A real burger with a GF bun...woohoo! Fries are NOT safe but the Cole slaw is tasty. Just a lively beach, burger, bar atmosphere. Plan to wait a bit...very popular...first come first serve
No official GF menu and shared fryer but waiter was knowledgeable. Had good GF buns. I had a grilled chicken club and coleslaw with no issue.
Not the best GF bun I've ever had, this one fell apart a bit. But still a great meal, cross contamination/ shared fryer fries don't usually bother me, and I was fine with the ones here too. Excellent service and atmosphere! And very kid friendly too.
There isn't a formal gluten free menu but the server was able to print a list of gluten free items. There were a good amount of options - salads, burgers, and sandwiches. The server was helpful and willing to make changes for me. I ordered a burger with no bun and no fries (which are cooked in the same fryer as breaded items). It's a really cool restaurant right on the water.
