Review of The Village Door Restaurant

Awesome find. There are exactly three things in this restaurant that are not gf: the mac & cheese on the kid’s menu, the regular bun for sandwiches/burgers (there is a gf one too), and croutons for the salad. Literally everything else on the menu is gf. They use a gf flour/breading blend on all fried food, so they are all safe. Homemade chips, fries all safe. My 12yo celiac almost couldn’t choose. Between us we picked multiple items so he could try a few: fried gator bites, fried grouper with fries, fried shrimp with bay chips, brisket (which was sooooo tender fresh off the smoker). I can’t believe we’ve been to Destin 4 times over the last 4 years and never knew this place existed. It’s not a place you’d think would be so safe - it looks like a bar/nightclub. It likely is at night. But during the day it’s a family friendly restaurant. Highly recommend!!
