My husband & I were on vacation & decided to try this restaurant. I ask the hostess if they had a gf menu & she said no. I asked if they had gf items marked on the menu & she said no, but that I could ask the server. After talking to the server, he obviously had no knowledge or training about gf or celiac. We should have left then, but since our waiter was willing to keep asking the “chef” if items contained gluten or not, & against my better judgment I decided to try a chef salad. After being assured there was no gluten in the seasoning they put on the chicken or in the salad dressing that is. It wasn’t 5 minutes after my husband & I left the restaurant that I started feeling really bad & had a terrible tummy! My husband who eats gf mainly because I have to didn’t feel well after either. I would NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone who has gluten intolerance issues & especially not celiac.
I informed my waitress of my celiac / gluten free diet. They said the home fries and grits were not gluten free and then said grits were gluten free (seemed very uncertain as to what gluten was) My meal came with a biscuit which I said to put on separate plate for someone else to eat. My breakfast came with the biscuit right on top of my meal. I would not recommend for someone who must eat gluten free.
