Started off well. The server had an iPad which bought up the full list of products and allergen contents for me to browse before getting the carvery. You needed to write down what was GF otherwise a lot to keep in your mind. However, when served up, (they do for you due to CoVid) I had 6 pieces of pasta from another dish on my plate and there was stuffing in the potato tray which isn’t GF. So really not hot on cross contamination. Wouldn’t go again.
Have visited a few times with family and always had a lovely experience. The service is amazing and the team are really accommodating. I am coeliac and they always have offered to prepare my meal separately to the main carvery and bring it out when the rest of my table are ready to eat. I understand a few of the desserts are gluten free too!
The staff here immediately got out an iPad with all the allergies of each of their dishes They appeared to have a great attention to detail and were very concerned about allergies. I had the carvery with vegan gravy and the carver on hearing I was a celiac pointed out what I could eat. I had the roast beef, roast potatoes carrots and peas with no ill effects. The vegan gravy was not quite as good as I have had in the past, but the meal was still very enjoyable.
I specified my needs on arrival and was brought the 'glass onion apps to search. I asked that my food not be from the carvery deck to prevent CC. I was given a form to list my options and it was made in the back and brought out. Gravy was also brought separately. I did have to go to carvery deck for meat. Server washed his hands before serving me but I had to avoid pork as it was right next to the Yorkshire puddings.
Could eat moat of the carvery minus the stuffing and Yorkshires unfortunately. Pork has gluten on the outside but they cut me abut from the centre and i ate it and was fine ( depends on your sensitivity if you wish to that but i am coeliac). Vegetarian gravy is Gf. Had a gf warm chocolate fudge cake with ice cream to finish.
