They have a great selection of GF items which are marked right on the menu. Everything I’ve had has been delicious and I feel totally safe eating here. Amazing GF desserts too !
Out of this world menu and some of the best service I’ve ever had. I felt so safe with both my gluten and corn allergies. My server was Krista and she’s been working there for 5 years. They make all the sauces from scratch. They’re so attentive and friendly. I got to eat fish cakes (salmon cake) for the first time in 5 years. I didn’t get even the slightest bit sick from anything. I also had the mussels, and the winter bowl with shrimp and subbed the tzatziki sauce. There was a misprint on the menu and Krista caught it, and showed me their whole allergen chart to be certain. When my dish came out, she looked at the dressing and told me she was going to get a new dressing from the kitchen herself, just to be 100% positive it was the right one (because the miso looks similar and has gluten). I will be going to Tula every time I’m in NY from now on. The food was phenomenal quality and the atmosphere was trendy and overwhelmingly just pleasant.
Traveling for work, I’ve apparently become a regular in less than a week. I stopped eating food I haven’t personally prepared about 9 months ago (finally feeling healthy after three years of what I thought was a fairly strict GF diet), but there is only so much you can do living out of a hotel for a week. I have felt quite comfortable eating at Tula. This has been one of the few times since my diagnosis (4 years in January) that I have had a stress free dining experience.
The staff is very friendly and knowledgable. They are quick to triple check things when you have questions or concerns.
The register is set up to prevent allergens. Items are blocked when allergies are input into the system.
A bit pricy, but reasonable. Affordable options are available and I’ve actually enjoyed those more than some of the pricier meals.
The meals here are well designed. A good combination of textures and flavors. The menu is quite broad, spanning quite a few regions with selections for everybody. There are options to cover everything from vegan to carnivore to pescatarian. Nothing seems to sit heavy, you can be full without feeling greasy and bloated. A welcome change to the majority of American style Italian, pizza, or only breaded and fried options that seem to dominate the menus in the area.
I’ll be back in the area two more times in the next month or so and this will be my primary source for dinner. There are enough options and differences in cuisine that I won’t get tired of eating here every night. I wish there were more places that took gluten free this seriously.
It’s a nice place inside, good atmosphere...perfect for a date night. Definitely on the expensive side so be prepared. I’m vegetarian and gluten free and i got the tofu crab cakes, soup of the day, crusted tofu and the banana bread and my favorite two were the soup and the banana bread. Both tofu dishes were not bad but lacking in flavor. Would go back.
The food was absolutely delicious and Celiac friendly. I didn't even have to worry about the Gluten free dish actually being gluten free and was very comfortable eating there.
One of my favorite restaurants...not all of menu is gluten free but a lot of items are that are delicious.
