They don’t have a GF menu but server was super knowledgeable about items that are Celiac safe and dairy free! Cross contamination was taken into consideration. I had the steak frites with zucchini! They even brought out GF poppers! I couldn’t eat them because of dairy but it was nice gesture.
The food here was AMAZING!! They don’t have GF marked on the menu, but everyone was super knowledgeable about celiac and able to point out what was (or could be made) GF. They brought out gluten free popovers to start, and also had GF pita bread with the charcuterie board. My friend and I split the shrimp and grits with sausage added on and it was SO good. Highly recommend and didn’t have any issues!
Staff is very accommodating and super kind. Reagan was our server and he checked multiple times to make sure my food was safe. He was extremely kind and said that the chef would do everything he could to accommodate celiac disease. I had the shrimp omelette with a side of bacon and it was delicious!
One of the best meals I have ever had! The meal started with popovers which are Brazilian cheese bites and they are to die for. For an app we got the charcuterie tray with several cheeses and their andouille sausage (which they make themselves and is something that cannot be missed!). For the main course we had it served family style so we could try several of the dishes - shrimp and grits, pork chops (made with a peach glaze only so it was safe), collard greens, and baked carrots. We got the GF chocolate cake for dessert. My mom and I are both very sensitive celiacs and neither of us felt ill afterwards. The server was honest when he didn’t know about dishes and if they were cross contaminated so he checked in with the chef frequently. Apparently the owners wife also has celiac disease so you can trust this place even though the menu doesn’t have a lot of gluten free labels. We will absolutely be coming back here on our next trip to Nashville!
Highly recommend this lovely restaurant! The server’s knowledge and confidence in navigating the menu was superb! They grind their own grits and make their own sausage. The shrimp and grits was tasty. The entire charcuterie tray (including roasted marcona almonds and olives) was GF with house made GF lavosh. They have a couple of GF desserts, although we were too full to try them. My friend had the double cut pork chop w/bourbon glazed peaches and thoroughly enjoyed it. Guarantee you will not be disappointed! ENJOY!
First time here; we had brunch. No gluten free menu, but waitress made a point of asking the kitchen for some options.
Server was very knowledgeable on what meals contained gluten and which ones would have cross contamination
What can I say. Despite the great reputation, despite that supposedly the wife of the owner has celiac, my food was cross contaminated. I verified with my waiter that my fries were ok, that the fryer was safe. After slight hesitation he emphatically said I was good. Soon after, he rushed back to the table and said stop eating. I sincerely appreciate his honesty. I would have a much worse time if he decided not to double check or not tell me. I also understand that unless it is a gluten free restaurant there is a chance of cross contamination. This was, unfortunately the case for me despite the great reputation of this place. Too bad, I otherwise loved it. But I’m not looking forward to the next 24 hours.
Best meal I’ve had in a long time! The servers were well informed and knowledgeable about the food ingredients. I have allergies to beans, tomato and wheat... so other than just watching my food because I deal celiac disease, they also did a magnificent job in accommodating my other allergies. Oh! And they also made sure my “drink” was gluten free! Brownie points for THAT!
Do your research before you go, as staff seems overwhelmed and didn’t really go through the menu in detail. Shrimp and grits are safe and amazing. Ask for popovers (request they are in a separate basket from the biscuits if you have gluten eaters with you). They are made with tapioca flour and a nice treat before your email.
No gluten-free menu, but lots of good options to choose from. I had the shrimp and grits, which was wonderful. Giving a 4-star rating only because upon informing our server that I had celiac and needed to be gluten free, he scoffed and acted like it was an inconvenience. Ultimately, the food (which was great) is more important, but I think part of catering to celiacs is being understanding and accepting. Because of the server’s reaction, I found myself uncomfortable asking questions and avoided asking for the pop-overs that others had said they enjoyed so much in their reviews.
4 stars instead of 5 for 2 reasons: no specific gluten free menu but our server was awesome & readily circled GF items on the menu, she could even attest to the specific sauces & what ingredients were in them. Secondly, while it was great that they serve GF popovers - they arrived in the bread basket with other gluten breads.... worried about cc. Overall a great experience & would recommend.
Excellent service. No separate GF menu, but server was very knowledgeable about what I could safely have (nearly all the menu). The shrimp and grits are naturally GF and awesome! Even have tapioca flour popovers to bring to the table before dinner that are GF.
This is an upscale, fresh food establishment. Although they do not have a printed Gluten Free menu, when I stated my daughter had Celiac disease, they brought out a menu and were very knowledgeable. Even had special tapioca popovers for her while he waited on our meal. She did not have any reaction. It was a wonderful experience!
