The waitstaff knew nothing of gluten free. Patron asked if waitstaff could have the chef recommend something gluten free as nothing was labeled on the menu. Waitstaff gave an idea that was thought to be safe and it came out breaded. Patron had to wait for a new meal to be prepared, while the rest of the party ate. When the salmon dish arrived, it was not good. Awful communication with chef. Not impressed.
We have been to Villa Rose SEVERAL times and the owner, Tony and his chef have been VERY accommodating of my needs for gluten-free dining. His meals are delicious. My favorite has been haddock or chicken francaise. He uses cornstarch instead of flour and his raspberry vinaigrette dressing is superb. He has gluten-free bread to use with his homemade garlic dipping oil and the chocolate lava cake for dessert is delicious AND gluten-free.
