Vital Root

We love Vital Root, but I wanted to let the community know they are no longer dedicated gluten free and are now serving meat. They said they now have a bun and a wrap that are prepared in separate area of the kitchen and still maintain their certified gluten free status. I personally think it is still pretty safe, but I’m disappointed to lose a dedicated place where you don’t have to worry/think about it.

One of my favorite spots in Denver. Everything I have had is delicious. 100% gluten-free and almost entirely plant-based. They always ask about allergies when you place your order and will review the dish’s ingredient list at the register to ensure that it is safe.

Wow this place is phenomenal. And completely gluten free! So no worries here. I had the falafel wrap with sweet potato fries. So so good. A little up there in price but worth it to not have to worry while eating.

Absolutely so many choices! I had the Banh-mi breakfast tacos with avocado and they were amazing! Fresh and very tasty ingredients. This is a must stop. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Asked about all food allergies to ensure order was safe. Will definitely be back here!

This place was 10 out of freaking 10. Trust me i’m not a health nut but this tasted so good despite being very healthy and clean. We came back for a second time in our trip because it’s been the best place out of all other gluten free places in Denver we’ve been to. Definitely go here. And get the falafel or the chicken bacon ranch wrap.

Delicious and very knowledgeable and accommodating for allergies. I love the falafel wrap, and the Korean BBQ "wings" (broccoli and cauli) are incredibly cravable. Be aware of the lentils if you are strictly avoiding gluten as lentils generally tend to have cross contamination. I have not tried them here. There's lots of vegan/non dairy desserts. The beet brownie and vegan tiramisu are amazing. It's so exciting that they are finally officially certified GF!

Went with friends for brunch. Each of us has special dietary restrictions (celiac/GF, vegan, corn allergy, legume allergy) and the staff was very knowledgeable about allergies and accommodating to everyone. The food was tasty and the mimosas were, too.

Dedicated GF. Cheesecake was fantastic! Everything else was pretty good. Kind of expensive.

Dedicated gluten free restaurant, which of course makes it comfortable to eat at. The vibe was nice, and they seem very environmentally conscious. That said, the food I had was just … meh. I got the Korean stir fry, home fries, and a brownie to go. The best part was the potatoes because they’re potatoes. The brownie I don’t recommend. I like beet desserts fairly well, but this was one weirdly almost savory, and not in a salted caramel sweet n salty kind of way. The standout was the canned kombucha, which I do recommend. They also seemed to have some coffees and it did seem like a nice vibe for meeting up with a friend or getting some work done.

They are certified 100% gluten free and the food was delicious!! I am also a vegetarian and they had so many amazing gf vegetarian options. My family (who aren’t GF or vegetarian) ate here too and loved it!

The falafel pita is the best I’ve ever had! I don’t know what they use for the pita, but I want it with every meal. My husband had the risotto and a smoothie. They were both good but not a showstopper like the falafel.

So many options and ethnicities; falafel, pad thai, risotto, dosas, et cetera. The “chicken” is good but was not a good add on for the falafel wrap, too tough. The Korean “wings” were a great appetizer.

They also have sparkling water on tap which is a nice touch.

I have been here twice and both times the food has been delicious. No worry about any contamination since everything on the food menu is gluten free. It is very easy to modify dishes to make then dairy free and vegan too. A lot of variety and a great spot to walk around with little shops next to it too!

Loved the vibe of this place and how I felt after eating there. Super tasty and didn’t feel bogged down after my lunch.

I had the Pad Thai - it was such a different combination of ingredients than I’m used to but I love the flavor!

This place is so beautifully put together. The way it flows is such art in and of itself. And I haven’t even gotten to the amazing food part yet 🥺

It’s not your normal vegan gluten-free menu. It’s full of such a wide variety of dishes and sides no two flavors are alike, and nobody with a corn Allergy has to worry about sitting around watching everybody else eat!! Meaning the food is all around healthy and packed with dense vegetables and nutrients!

This place was phenomenal! We aren’t vegetarian but enjoy plant based food, so this gf plant based restaurant was perfect. The sprout sandwich and sunflower risotto were unbelievably good and surprisingly filling. Would come back if we had more time!

Visited today and the avocado toast we shared was very delicious and we each enjoyed oat lattes. If they offered a dedicated gluten free beer, I would have rated them a 5 vs 4. I spoke with them and they are reviewing it. Again, good food.

Wow! This place is amazing! It's a gluten free dedicated facility. They take gluten free seriously. I got the falafel and am drooling thinking about it. I wish I could eat here everyday.

While visiting Denver, some friends of ours recommended Vital Root because my husband and I are both celiac and vegan. This place was perfect!! Both of our meals were tasty and satisfying, and honestly we wished we were staying in Denver long enough to try everything on the menu.

We got there around 1:30 on a Saturday and there was a long line. It took about 10 minutes to get through that line, but it was worth it.

I highly recommend Vital Root to anyone who likes food, not just gluten free and vegan.

We will be back on our next visit.

Vital Root is now completely GF [it wasn't when it first opened], and I've eaten here at least a dozen times without issue. The food overall is very, very good, although I do agree that some of the items are a little pricey compared with what you get. Standouts on the menu are definitely the pancakes - these are the BEST pancakes I've had in years, maybe even since pre-celiac days. The avocado toast sounds simple, but is filling and delicious, and the Root Down Benedict [brunch only] is very flavorful as well. I haven't had many of the desserts except the muffins, but they, along with the seed bread that they serve, are all made in-house.
