Finding ramen in an actual ramen shop can be nearly impossible for celiacs. Then we discovered Wagaya at the recommended from a friend who lived in Honolulu. First off, everyone we encountered who works here is so welcoming. Celiacs have one choice but it’s a perfect bowl of soup IMO - vegetarian ramen with the sweet potato noodles. The noodles have a good chew and the bowl was very filling. You can’t have the egg and the green veg, but those can come on a side plate for your date. I didn’t feel like I was missing out. There are a few starters that can be modified or come GF. The tofu agedashi was great. They use soon tofu so it’s creamy inside with a light fried crust. Delicious enough (and affordable) for two orders. We ended the meal with a nice bowl of yuzu sorbet.

Do yourself a favor and go to their website and put yourself on the wait list once you’re on your way. You may be chilling outside for a bit if you don’t.
