Located on the 33rd floor of the Fallsview Hilton Hotel, the Watermark offers outstanding views of the falls, and because the floor is terraced, there isn’t a bad table in the house. They only offer 3-course prix fixe meals ($80CAD, $58USD) but they will allow some substitutions. You can, for example, skip dessert and have two appetizers instead, or vice versa. Happily, there are many good gluten-free options in all three categories, even dessert. Also, the staff is well-versed in food allergens and will employ cross-contact protocols if you mention celiac or an allergy. I had the Cream of Butternut Carrot Soup as a starter, the Chili Maple Salmon as an entrée, and the Turtle Cheesecake for dessert. The food wasn’t phenomenal, but it was still quite good, and the views, service, and atmosphere made up the difference. All in all, a very pleasant – and safe! – dining experience.

Though there weren't many options available on the menu, they did substitute a beautiful salad for the breaded sides that are normally offered with the steak.
The service was outstanding. The waiter was very knowledgable. He literally pointed out everything on the menu that was safe to eat. I had a salad to start and then had chicken as main meal. I watched the fireworks over the Falls while I ate. The food was very tasty and beautifully plated. Defining expensive is hard because everyone's view of that differs. I did not think it was expensive for two people to eat plus drinks at 200.00 total. It was beautiful and romantic.
I called and asked about gluten free dining and was told "I think we have bread." So naturally we went in person to confirm if there were more options than just bread. We were assured that yes there would be plenty of gluten free options. Upon arriving for dinner, the hostesses had no idea about what gluten free is and called a manager. She said anything without au jus is fine. Our waitress said the au jus IS fine. To play it safe i got the risotto, which came out with a piece of fried squash on it, a big no no. We sent it back and the same dish came out a minute later and we were told it came from a dedicated fryer. Don't believe this since everyone had no idea about gluten allergies the whole time. The portions for everything were tiny. A $13 salad was just one strip of lettuce. The salmon was the size of a fork. Would definitely not return especially for the prices paid. Not aware at all about gluten free dining. The bread, however, was good but did not come with separate dip.
