Everything is certified gf - it is a gluten free only bakery - such nice owner - they have shipped me bread and muffins out of state- so delicious!!!!
Obsessed with their pecan cake
I love this bakery! I have tried many things here, but I must rave about the gluten free carrot cake my daughter bought for my birthday. Everyone loved it and couldn't believe it was gluten free. It's a dedicated gf bakery right here in Vermont! What's not to love!
I love that this place is dedicated gluten-free. I like their superseeded bread with the poppyseeds, and the oatmeal bread. They put a little brown sugar/sugar in their breads which helps give them a nice brown color and taste. The donut holes are also really good and the chocolate chip pumpkin muffins are good although I think a little too sweet for me. I like coming to the store for a treat and the staff can always tell me which things are dairy free. My only complaint is that I prefer more whole-grain/nutrient dense/healthy stuff and they don't have any breads/baked goods made with mostly whole grain. Because of this, I prefer VT Gluten Free's honey oat bread and enjoy life's sprouted flax bread. I hope in the future they branch out into the whole grain/healthy genre!
Excellent products! The chocolate chip cookies are to die for. They do custom order cakes as well! The baker with the long dark hair is very talented, our cake was perfect!
Love the muffins! Very small but totally gluten free.
great people, and great products!! highly recommend!!
Fantastic! Completely gluten free, fresh, and friendly folks!! So glad we took the extra few minutes to drive off the highway to try this place! And, since they ship their goodies, we'll be buyers again when we are back from our travel! YUM!!!
Wow! What a find! Best gluten free bagels I have ever eaten! Taking almost a dozen back to Maine! And they will ship to you!
Dedicated GF facility. Great muffins and the bagel was super tasty. Not an "eat-in" place but has a patio for eating in nice weather. More of a grab and go option.
Baked goods are so delicious. Bagels, maple cream puffs, sour cream muffin, maple oat scone. Oh my goodness. Not cheap, but not overpriced either. So happy to find this place right up the street from my apartment! Can't wait to try the other things they have to offer!
We had donut holes, cookies and the pecan tarts. All were great! The cookies were really good. If you are gluten free you know it's hard to find a good cookie. They are either rock hard and crumbles as soon as you pick it up or it's moist but too dense. WMFB cookies were none of those! Tasted like a good-ol' gluten filled cookie! :-)
Great gf food. Love pumpkin chocolate chip muffins. And i dont have to eat gf. My favorite bakery when i am in Essex. Totally gluten free
Pricey, but delicious. Love their pumpkin muffins and carrot cake
One darn good bakery! Cookies, cupcakes and donut holes rock. Haven't tried the bread yet, but they always seem to have fresh batches in the works behind the counter.
Wow, this is the best gf bakery around. I've tried their bagels which are chewy and my gluten-eating husband said he couldn't tell they were gf. I also love their cupcake with peanut butter frosting, muffins (sour cream crumb cake is my fave), and cheddar garlic bread. Ooh boy. Their oatmeal bread is okay, but I'll only eat it toasted. Definitely give them a try. You won't be disappointed.
All I can say is holy cow! This is by far the very best gluten-free baked goods I have ever had! I wish we had one of these in Iowa.
All gluten free bakery! Very tasty and almost dangerous for someone with a sweet tooth!
Excellent bakery items! Mmm good muffins, pretty good breads, delicious gnocchi, delightful experiments. (new recipes- all I've tasted were delicious!
This g-f bakery is great. Try the oatmeal bread for sandwiches. My favorite muffin is the blueberry; however, all of the muffins I ate are delicious. I was diagnosed with celiac disease 21 years ago and it does get easier (eating gluten-free) with time and experience, and having West Meadow Farm Bakery is a big convenience.
I recently was diagnosed with celiac sprue. I thought I would never have anything that tasted as good as a wheat based product ever again. Several people mentioned West Meadow with high recommendations. I just picked up some blueberry muffins (just out of the oven) and I have to say, I dare anyone to tell the difference between these and a wheat based muffin. Moist, airy and a great flavor. I have a new favorite bakery.
This place is great! I was so surprised that there was a local Gluten free bakery in Essex. I LOVE their pecan Tassies, and the muffins taste normal! Nothing compares!
