Larry’s Subs is managed by someone who fully understands celiac. They have gf bread and take great care to change gloves and use new ingredients. Highly recommend.
Best gluten free sub i’ve ever had!!! I’ve been gluten free for about eight months and I have missed having a good sub. I got the tuna salad sub with gluten free bread and it was delicious. They toasted it and the end of the bread was a little too toasted/crunchy but besides that, it was great. A lot of gluten free breads can be super dry but I didn’t notice that with this. I’m so glad I found this place!
I always ask to make sure they have Gluten free bread before I order. This time my sandwich came out and I had to make sure it was gluten free because it looked so perfect. He assured me it was indeed Gluten free. It tasted so good I was SURE he just gave me a wheat roll. But after many reassurances, he said he orders them from sysco brand foods, and they are indeed Gluten free! And they're not tiny, nor do they crumble to dust and it tasted so good! After i, again, asked to confirm it was really Gluten free, he said he had several celiac customers that now come to this location because of the quality!
The best gluten free sub I have had. The bread is delicious and not too thick or dry at all. No where else has even come close to having bread that's as good.
Best gluten free sub bread!!! Sandwich was amazing and the bread comes wrapped in its own plastic. I am not sure about cross contamination as I am only gluten sensitive, my sandwich was definitely prepared on a new surface and with a new pair of gloves tho.
The staff does not understand customers with celiac disease. I asked about safe handling of food and cross contamination and they assured me that by labeling my order as an allergy all would be taken care of. I received a tasty but very non-safe turkey sub that was toasted on the shared roll toaster. I had a definitive gluten reaction to this meal. Definitely not celiac friendly.
They no longer do gluten free.
Larry’s sub rolls are from smart flour baking company. They are similar good I almost cried. They will sell you the frozen rolls. Last time I got them they were 4 for 10$.
Sad to say but all Larry's locations are closed. Do to the owner passing.
Not the best experience at Larry's subs. Tons of chances for cross contamination. Won't go back again.
The most delicious gluten free sub bun ever! They make them in a separate area. Bonus-Offer a gluten free meatball. Highly recommend.
Ordered antipasto salad. Was excited because they add celiac to receipt and seemed to understand. Received my salad with bread on top of my salad. Asked them to fix it and received the same exact thing again.

It's a huge inconvenience for this location to get fresh veggies for a gluten free sub. Major attitude from who I assume was the manager.
Great Sub, owner is gluten free and staff knowledgeable in regards to safe food handling. Load of options and the bun held together and tasted great!!
Very good about keeping things gluten free but when your done you are buying a 15 dollar sub.
Ate here two days in a row with my celiac son. Really good gf bread (and non-gf). Nearly every sandwich can be made gf and lots to choose from. Did not get sick and really enjoyed it.
The subs really are giant. Gluten free bread options are 8” and 12”, huge selection of sandwiches and they do ask if they need to take special precautions. This is the best gluten free bread I’ve ever had, definitely recommend
They have a medium and large gluten free sub roll. They asked if I had an allergy and switch gloves, and won’t use the same mayo knife. I would also recommend watching them prepare it behind the counter. I’m not celiac, wheat allergy, didn’t get sick. 👍🏼
I just have a gluten allergy and not celiac but I’ve never had any issues whenever I’ve eaten here. They have the best gluten free bread compared to other sub places
The service was AMAZING! The owner was super nice, and also was gluten free! She orders this AMAZING, soft subs that are surprisingly gluten free. She was so sweet she have me a whole slice of GF Kiley Lime pie and it was DELICIOUS!!!
The staff was incredibly friendly. They answered all our questions cheerfully and gave thorough answers. They explained the processes they use to keep the gluten-free food separate and safe. The gluten-free bread was one of the best I've had. I highly recommend it! And my family will definitely be back
Delicious Italian sub! Best GF hoagie roll EVER! Entire menu can be made GF - including the meatball sub! Owner is GF and staff are extremely knowledgeable. They took extensive precautions to prevent cross contamination. They also have GF cheesecake that is delicious! I am so happy to have found this for my beach days on Amelia Island!
Got super sick after eating here. Great service and the sub tasted great just after effects weren’t worth it. Proceed with extreme caution for celiacs.
Great care with GF options, great food and friendly staff! Service was great! I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak and my daughter ordered the Big Boss man both gluten free. The guys ordered regular bread options and they were delicious too!
Traveling is always tough, this place has a knowledgeable staff what the counter person didn’t know or wasn’t sure of she asked the manager , who also double checked everything ,totally recommend .I will return when traveling ,definitely recommend the roast beef it was delicious I don’t get to enjoy subs often since my diagnosis with celiac definitely recommend !!!
They were happy to change gloves and clean the prep space and the gluten-free bun was good. No problem with the food here and appreciate their accommodations
Accommodating staff, clarified an allergy rather than a preference. First sub I have had in months of being gf, was fantastic, stacked with fillings, wished i was hungry enough to eat 2! Served on paper so limited chance of Cc. Would eat here regularly if I lived nearby ( sadly I don't)
Great subs! You may not normally stop here, but take the time to eat here! You won't be disappointed!
Cozy old sandwich shop, authentic feel like on South Street in Philly, just not as busy. GF bread for an up charge. They will change gloves and clean prep area etc if you ask. Kids eat free some days.
A gluten free sub roll was on the menu and available! Told them I was celiac and “allergy “ was indicated on the receipt. It took a little longer to make so I felt confident it was made separately. The Italian sub was excellent!!!
Staff is very accommodating!!! I am very sensitive and have not had even the mildest gluten reaction!! Wonderful subs!! The bun does not overpower the fillings!! I have not been able to eat a sub in years!! I will definitely be going back!!
Love this place! They have a 8” gluten free roll that’s +$3.50 and gluten free wraps that are also a up-charge but they are really good! Staff has always been understanding of my gluten allergy.
Highly disappointed. Bread tasted like cardboard. Two thin slices of meat. Won’t go back
We went here on a vacation and haven’t stopped saying how much we wish we had it at home. They were awesome, knew exactly what to do to keep two celiacs safe, and it was delicious.
Amazing experience! The staff seemed very knowledgeable about cross contamination, he walked me through their process to keep my sub separate and the Italian sub on the Gf bun was actually awesome! Sad we can’t come more often (we live about 2 hours away) Highly recommend!
Best gluten free bread I've had! They take cross contamination seriously, and the hot sauce options are also largely gluten free - but, there's the risk that by touching the hot sauce, you'll get exposed. Someone with regular bread touches the hot sauce, though the sauce itself is fine the container isn't, you get gluten on your hands, touch your sandwich.
I gave explicit instructions and was so sick all day from eating this sandwich. It was delicious but absolutely not worth your health
They offer GF subs and wraps. The staff change gloves and place GF bread on its own pan to toast . So good and convenient when you want a quick bite!

Dropped by for a sandwich. This particular branch had kids working that were completely clueless. I didn’t trust it enough to stay. I asked about an ingredient and she just looked at me and said idk.
The people working were really friendly. Most subs can be made gluten free. We tried two and they were good. I had no reaction. They change gloves and are careful with preparation.
Asked if "allergy" or preference. When told celiac they reacted as they should. Fresh gloves, worked on clean foil with clean knife and got sub toppings from a separate place. We watched the whole process. They were safe and the sub, DELICIOUS.
This is the best gluten-free deli sandwich I’ve ever had since being diagnosed with Celiac disease over a decade ago. The bread tasted amazing & held together really well; I loved not having a dry, crumbly sandwich for once, haha! I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a good, cheap meal! Best sub sandwich bread ever. My non-gluten free family LOVED their sandwiches too, so it’s a good pick to satisfy everyone.
Staff made sure everything was safe once they knew it was for a gluten allergy, and when they realized that one ingredient (the marinara) was cross contaminated, they informed me of it and didn’t add it. They offered the best gluten free bread I’ve ever had, and it honestly tasted better than I remember their regular subs tasting from before my diagnosis.
Loved this place! We do not have celiacs but gluten allergy. Owner asked me if I had severe allergy and offered to have workers change gloves, etc. I am not sensitive to cross-contamination. The subs were divine! It was so fun to eat what everyone else was having. The gf bread was sturdy and held together well, even after refrigerating 1/2 of it for the afternoon. Owner was friendly, the locals seemed to have a great relationship with him. Great environment!
