Highly disappointed. Bread tasted like cardboard. Two thin slices of meat. Won’t go back

We went here on a vacation and haven’t stopped saying how much we wish we had it at home. They were awesome, knew exactly what to do to keep two celiacs safe, and it was delicious.

Amazing experience! The staff seemed very knowledgeable about cross contamination, he walked me through their process to keep my sub separate and the Italian sub on the Gf bun was actually awesome! Sad we can’t come more often (we live about 2 hours away) Highly recommend!

Best gluten free bread I've had! They take cross contamination seriously, and the hot sauce options are also largely gluten free - but, there's the risk that by touching the hot sauce, you'll get exposed. Someone with regular bread touches the hot sauce, though the sauce itself is fine the container isn't, you get gluten on your hands, touch your sandwich.

I gave explicit instructions and was so sick all day from eating this sandwich. It was delicious but absolutely not worth your health

They offer GF subs and wraps. The staff change gloves and place GF bread on its own pan to toast . So good and convenient when you want a quick bite!

Dropped by for a sandwich. This particular branch had kids working that were completely clueless. I didn’t trust it enough to stay. I asked about an ingredient and she just looked at me and said idk.

The people working were really friendly. Most subs can be made gluten free. We tried two and they were good. I had no reaction. They change gloves and are careful with preparation.

Asked if "allergy" or preference. When told celiac they reacted as they should. Fresh gloves, worked on clean foil with clean knife and got sub toppings from a separate place. We watched the whole process. They were safe and the sub, DELICIOUS.

This is the best gluten-free deli sandwich I’ve ever had since being diagnosed with Celiac disease over a decade ago. The bread tasted amazing & held together really well; I loved not having a dry, crumbly sandwich for once, haha! I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a good, cheap meal! Best sub sandwich bread ever. My non-gluten free family LOVED their sandwiches too, so it’s a good pick to satisfy everyone.

Staff made sure everything was safe once they knew it was for a gluten allergy, and when they realized that one ingredient (the marinara) was cross contaminated, they informed me of it and didn’t add it. They offered the best gluten free bread I’ve ever had, and it honestly tasted better than I remember their regular subs tasting from before my diagnosis.

Loved this place! We do not have celiacs but gluten allergy. Owner asked me if I had severe allergy and offered to have workers change gloves, etc. I am not sensitive to cross-contamination. The subs were divine! It was so fun to eat what everyone else was having. The gf bread was sturdy and held together well, even after refrigerating 1/2 of it for the afternoon. Owner was friendly, the locals seemed to have a great relationship with him. Great environment!

My husband who has celiac and hasn't found many GF breads that he likes says the hoagie roll is the best! He hasn't had a Philly cheesesteak in forever.

Very delicious sub on gluten free sub roll! I ordered takeout so I’m not sure if it was prepared separately but I can say the gf sub roll was amazing. Soft and didn’t fall apart. Will be ordering again!

Staff was amazing at reducing cross contamination and enjoying a Philly cheesesteak was wonderful!

Wow. A hot chicken bomb with spicy peppers. So good! I'm not sick at all, but it is definitely a shared space, but they take care if it is an allergy. They warmed the roll, but didn't put it on the shared toaster, which was perfect. I want to try all of the subs here.
8” and 10” sub rolls. Taste like Udi’s.

The first place I have felt at ease eating a GF sub in 4 months since CD diagnosis! Talked to the ladies that were making the sub and they do all the right things, clean area, change gloves, use dedicated utensils, paper and condiments, use GF bread, meats, cheese. When eating out there is always a chance of CC however I was not overly concerned. The sub was DELISH!
Yes
So yummy and it’s so nice to have a sub again! However, be ready to be spend a good amount of money on a sub (about $12-14)
Ate here twice during our month in Brunswick. They have a separate prep area. Loved my steak and cheese sub.
Best Gluten Free cheesesteak on a soft gluten free sub bun. Gluten free wraps also available. Staff was very careful and knowledgeable in regards to cross contamination.
Yes
Reallly disappointing, they had advertisements and postings all over the building for gluten free but when I went up to order they said they were all out of all gluten free sub rolls, wraps and bread.
They offer gluten free buns like every other Larry’s I’ve been to, but they practice no preventive measures for cross contamination. They put the bin directly in the work space with the normal bread, and even had normal buns sitting on top of the dome of the topping containers. They did not even change gloves or cut the sandwich with a clean knife

Excellent selection, really good gf bread & service was great!
Great stop on our way to Florida! Good GF bread and all non- celiacs were happy too!
Best GF bread ever. Smart flour.
However, don't order via Grubhub. I only used a delivery service once, never again. Get it made in person - they change gloves and wipe down at this location. Outstanding.
Knowledgeable staff, many options. Good food!

The GF bread is amazing!! Reasonable prices.
Staff was knowledgeable and my Celiac son thought this was the best sandwich he ever ate.

I always love Larry's! They ask if you have an allergy and would like them to change their gloves! Love that!
Yes
At other locations, never gotten sick!
Recently stocked new kind of bread that’s soft & amazing!
Menu well marked. Very impressed with efforts to avoid cross contamination!
Stick with Ham/Chicken/Turkey/& or/ Roast beef. Other meats have modified food starch (made from unknown grains). Peruvian Gold sauce is really good.
Constantly looking for ways to improve GF subs.

I stop here every time I'm in Jax to get a gf destroyer Italian sub. I'm a celiac and have never gotten sick from their food. They used to get their sub rolls from cookie momsters, but they must have changed their supplier. The sub contents are good, my family loves Larry's, but my sub was on a little hotdog bun today. Absolutely not an 8" sub roll and the $2.25 upcharge is unwarranted for this. I honestly won't go out of my way to come here in the future, unless I want a salad, because there are better local options for gluten free subs if we're wanting to eat bread. Just my 2 cents.
This is the only Larry’s location I go to in Jax. The ingredients taste fresher and they are always super careful making sure I’m not cross contaminated.
Yes
Went to this location by accident- meant to go to one with more recent and better reviews off of the highway. We got glutened- my boys had a sandwich on gluten free bread and one had hives within 30 minutes (only a few but it’s how his sensitivity shows up) and my throat was sore after eating the salad.

Found Larry's using this app on the way to Florida. It is very conveniently located off of I-95. It has the best GF sub rolls I've ever had in over 15 years of eating GF. The service was also very good. Highly recommended.
Yes
The staff had no clue about the gluten content whatsoever. The first woman I asked said they had a gluten free bun but that none of the meat or cheese was gluten free and the second woman I asked said she thought the ham was gluten free but I could read the labels on the meats and cheeses in the case if I wanted. They both rolled their eyes when I asked... not friendly, much less celiac friendly.
Quaint, casual. Great food, friendly.
The best gluten free bread I have ever had! Definitely not Udi's! I called and spoke to them before ordering and they do take necessary precautions. I had the pastrami and corned beef and no issues at all. Just make sure to alert them when ordering. Their mobile app has a note section for that.
Yes
The staff does not understand customers with celiac disease. I asked about safe handling of food and cross contamination and they assured me that by labeling my order as an allergy all would be taken care of. I received a tasty but very non-safe turkey sub that was toasted on the shared roll toaster. I had a definitive gluten reaction to this meal. Definitely not celiac friendly.
No
I informed them I had celiac and asked if it was safe to get any sandwich on the gf bread
Staff is very accommodating!!! I am very sensitive and have not had even the mildest gluten reaction!! Wonderful subs!! The bun does not overpower the fillings!! I have not been able to eat a sub in years!! I will definitely be going back!!
