Buffet restaurant, use caution as cross contamination is a possibility. Most entree items are labeled with allergens, including wheat, gluten, soy and milk. There was baked fish along with baked chicken, steaks and ham. The vegetables seemed ok. The salad bar is pretty good though not as extensive as pre-Covid. Dessert options are limited to fruit, jello and ice cream. Best to go when they aren’t as busy so you can take time looking at all your options.
After looking up on their website it said some of the foods are gluten free. We paid for our meal and I asked if there was a way to tell what was gluten free without having to be looking in their website. The cashier didn’t know so she went and got the manager. He asked what I needed to know. I asked him how can I tell what is gluten free. He then told me nothing is gluten free. I asked nothing? He said nothing. So I asked for a refund for my meal and then watched my family eat. Very disappointed.
I attended a family gathering at this restaurant & was apprehensive due to having Celiac. The GM Steve met with me & personally cooked my food separately (grilled chicken tenders, fish, & steamed green beans). I also ate a salad. I was so impressed with all of the staff. I did not have any problems eating this meal. Not sure about other franchises, however.
The lady that took our order said I was the first person to ask her for a GF menu. This wasn’t a very large menu so I found an allergen menu online. I found it after I ate the green beans, the green beans had wheat! What the what?! Why would you put wheat in green beans? Luckily I had my GlutenEase pills so I wouldn’t get sick but my lunch was gross all I could comfortably eat was baked potatoes. Do yourself a favor and go to Bob Evans, it’s the same type of food and it tasted better and was cheaper too.
Ask to speak with the manager. He will get you a copy of the list of foods on the bar and he will even be friendly and happy to help!! Then you can check each food item! You still have to be careful, because it is a buffet. However, at least you have options of food not made with wheat. of course I always wish for more options. LOL
Really really not good at all ! The manger did not even know what Gluten Free was and the food was not good at all ! I really do not suggest going here if you have an Allergy and you really should not look at their website ether because I did that and there was a lot of Gluten Free but then I asked about Gluten Free at the restaurant and she said that they don't have any GF things! I ended up only having vegetables and shrimp !!!! The ice cream was so watery!! I hated it!!!!! I am never going to eat here again!!
to much of a chance. when i do eat here i look for things in the rawest form salads veggies fruits. some of the meats that dont look battered or fried. but there is still a huge chance.
They have a ton of food, but hardly any gluten-free items. Even the steamed carrots had gluten. I had a stomach ache after eating here.
when I asked the hostess if they have allergy information, specifically for gluten, she spoke to the kitchen staff and then told me they had no allergy info. I decided not to eat though my party did. the restaurant was clean and the buffet selections looked good.
So many items I thought were gluten free contain wheat! Sure explains the stomach ache after eating at Golden Corral! Thank you for this list! I can be more selective and better informed in the future! No more avoiding Golden Corral. :)
There are several buffet items that are gluten free
