This place was great! Asked about allergies as we walked in the door. I was given a gluten free menu right away. They also put a special marker on our table to indicate it. Also, the food was tasty! Great spot to mix it up amongst regular English fare.

Pizza was beautiful. Before seating we were asked did any of us have any allergies which is always a great sign. We had a love heart placed at our table to alerts others to the allergy. Really nice place will definitely come back.

The first question we were asked by the manager as we sat was “are there any allergies?” When we mentioned that our son has a wheat allergy, he immediately brought over an allergen-friendly menu and flipped right to the gluten-free section. I think most of the pasta dishes and types of pizza could be made gluten-free. I had the GF pasta bolognese and my son had the pepperoni pizza. Both were delicious and our son had no allergic reactions at all. Highly recommend and safe!

I had a great experience here today. I was provided with a folder detailing not only the allergens of every item in the menu but also whether the items were cooked in fryers or boiled with items that may have contained gluten. That's the first menu I have seen where it clearly detailed the potential cross contamination. When the server took my order she marked that I was coeliac on her app and my food was brought out with a non-gluten sticker on it. The food was lovely and it's the first time in a while that I have felt completely confident and safe to eat out. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

This is the best Italian food I’ve had in ages. Great pizza and amazing pasta. Not only are the gluten free options plentiful, most gluten free substitutes taste great and fresh. You can tell the pasta doesn’t just come from any random store, and the quality helps to make this place even more wonderful. Gluten free Pasta Bolognese was totally delicious and a generous portion. This was brought to the table clearly labelled and separate to the gluten food of my family. There is a separate menu that is clear and concise. There are no gf fries available as they have a coating and are fried with gluten foods.

Wonderful place to eat and they have amazing cappuccino as well! They have a separate GF menu, and my food always came out with a sticker on the plate that said “non gluten”. Delicious food and friendly staff. I ate here 3-4 times while we were in London without getting sick.

We ordered the olives and caprese. Both came with gluten free sticker on it. I order a gluten free pizza. It was excellent and also had the gluten free sticker on it. Ask Italian is an outstanding GF experience. The service is great, the GF food is delicious…pizza, pasta…I didn’t feel like I missed out on the Italian experience at all. PS the Rose Wine is 5 star too! High highly recommended!!

This place is so good! My family and I had dinner here while touring York. The host asked if anyone in our group had allergies and provided a gluten free menu. The waiter confirmed that GF items were prepared in a separate part of the kitchen and the pizza had it's own pans and oven. The pizza was excellent - best GF crust I've had. We also had a caprese/burrata salad and my husband had the GF carbonara so we could share. Both were very tasty. We shared a chocolate etna for desert: so yummy!

When I go to Ask in Lewes, I only have their gf pizzas. There is a plastic file of menus/allergens that you can consult which is reassuring. Quite a bit of choice but I’m more than happy with their gf pizza. Always state gf when ordering. Always have a gf sticker on the board of any gf pizza brought to the table. Get a Taste Card to qualify for 50% discounts mid week
