I ordered on the uber eats app, added a gluten allergy. the pizza i got was not gluten free after looking at the reviews about the crust being “nice and thin” i got a regular thick fluffy crust. i looked back and nothing on my ticket says gluten free, i looked on the uber eats app and the pizzas under gluten free have no gluten free option. i am now very sick. I looked online and there’s no way to order it on the website.
Pizza was great! We ordered for pickup and still didn't have any issues with cross-contamination. They were out of medium size gluten free when we went so they had upgraded us to a large for free. The gluten free pizza was a thin crust but my celiac husband and I (non-gluten free) both loved it.
Impressive safety standards! We've eaten here several times, most recently a few days ago, and each experience has been excellent. Gluten-free pizzas are prepared in a separate area with separate ingredients. They take the risk of cross-contamination extremely seriously and take every precaution. The ingredients are always amazingly fresh and of exceptional quality. The gluten-free crust is thin and crispy on the edges yet soft in the center. Every pizza has always been cooked perfectly. Highly recommended!
I got sick after eating. I went in and ordered and asked what options they had for GF. Was told “the crust of dairy free so you should be good” should have been my red flag to leave. I ordered and confirmed again I was getting the GF crust and that it was an allergy. Super sick
We went in and ordered pizzas earlier this week. After asking a bunch of questions about preparation, I decided it was safe. The person taking my order yelled back to his coworkers to wash their hands and get toppings from the walk-in for my pizza. I got a large chicken/bacon/ranch pizza, which was tasty and cooked well. (And they have two sizes of GF crust—I was really thrown off when they asked what size I wanted lol.) No reactions afterward and lots of leftovers—it’s great to have safe and tasty pizza while traveling.
Was in San Antonio for my daughter's dance competition, and felt like pizza. Found Garlic Jim's through this app, and gave it a try. It was delicious! I ordered mine with no cheese because I have issue with the whey protein in dairy, although they do have a vegan alternative. Very accommodating, great service, delicious! My non-celiac friend ordered her pizza on a regular crust, and really enjoyed her meal as well.
My 3 celiac family eats Garlic Jim’s pizza often and we have not gotten sick. I’m not sure if they did not do this previously, given the negative reviews, but at least this location uses corn meal as the flour on all of their pizzas to help prevent cross-contamination. They have a gluten free thin crust pizza that is pretty good.
We heard of their gluten free pizza and tried one. It tasted great, but I was ill fairly quickly. Note their kitchen is NOT a dedicated space and like most pizza places, everything is covered in flour and they have a shared oven. Food is great, but I wouldn’t recommend it for those with Celiac.
The service is as expected, pretty good! But the main reason our family only orders from Garlic Jim's is because of the delicious and full sized gluten free pizzas. The gluten free crust is not udis brand like almost every other pizza joint, it is their own Garlic Jim's official pizza crust. One of the main reasons that we don't buy take out pizza any more is because of the price, your total adds up incredibly quick if you want to buy more than one pizza. So, if you have some money to spend and a great appetite get Garlic Jim's gluten free pizza!
Pizza (GF) tasted great! They do declare that they prepare the food in the same area where non-GF pizza is also prepared for those with really bad allergic reactions.
love that we can get pizza delivered to the house and it tastes good! GF pizza made in dedicated prep area. Only flour in the kitchen is gluten free used for either either type of pizza dough in the prep area / counter. You pay a little extra but I think it's worth it.
Great GF pizza and no reactions! Yay!
I am celiac and have never had a reaction from thier food! it is so nice to be able to order pizza and know that it is safe for me to eat, affordable, and delicious!
I love their GF crust.. flavorful and it's a "normal" size... not that teeny Udi's crust you get from the national chains at the same price. (grrr) I like that I can share with my family. Staff is always accommodating, they deliver, and you can use their coupons/deals on GF (also unlike the national chains).
Was traveling through the area and decided to try this GF pizza. Sadly it was food for the evening but not that great. Burned crust, soaking in cheese and pepperoni oil - no flavor at all in the crust. Maybe made from potato flour?!&?
The best GF Pizza in town!!! The staff is very friendly.
Best gf pizza crust I've had so far. Only problem is I've felt symptoms the last few times I've gotten their pizza. One of the last times I was there the person at the register handed me the pizza with his hands/arms coated in flour. Yes I was sick after eating it, but it tasted delicious. Wish I could go back, but better to be safe.
Eaten there twice without getting sick. They don't use cornmeal for their GF crust, either, which is a bonus. A little pricey if you get their gourmet pizza, but a large cheese and mushroom was 18. Nice that they have small, medium, and large pizza. They prepare the pizza in a separate space.
They are not safe with cross contamination. Last time I went there I got sick and got my blood drawn and my numbers were off. It was the only place I had eaten, other than my house. It tasted good, but if you are on a strict gluten free diet or have celiac disease I do not recommend going there.
