Gluten-Free at Thai Express

Went there multiple times and mentioned I had a food allergy to gluten and they made sure to clean all of everything so there was no cross contamination and 100% will go again. If you say allergy they take it more serious just a heads up. Ps pad Thai is delicious

They have gluten-free options on the menu, a good variety. They have written on their menu that the gluten-free options are not suitable for people suffering of Celiac diseases because of cross-contamination. This fast food has an open kitchen so you can see how they prepare the food and everything is cooked in the same wok (gluten and gluten-free) so, again, not suitable for Celiacs.

I was told by a friend with celiac that she had good experiences at this specific site (vs I was glutened in a food court mall site). I’ve since tried this location at least 5 times: ordered GF pad Thai mostly. I told them of the celiac diagnosis. They washed their pot/tray very well and bagged my dinner separately from the other dishes I ordered for the family. I ate it at home and had no problems! Will definitely keep going back.

Kemptville has very few gf (celiac safe) restos. Thai Express’s gf options are clearly marked on the app (highly recommend pre-ordering on the app.) Order here fairly frequently and have never had any reactions or issues.

Make sure you catch the manager. My order was made with non GF sauce and on a shares pan. I had to refuse and they got the manager to explain the requirements and needed to remake.

I always get the Beef Pad See Ew and haven’t had a reaction. Compared to the non gluten free version the sauce is much lighter in colour. They always say gluten free when they hand me my meal. This was one of my favourite take-out places before I was diagnosed, it’s great to be able to still enjoy it.

I ordered from here a few times and was excited about the options until I realized that everything is cooked on the same cook top.

Their menu is labeled but their knowledge and attitudes don’t seem to care much. Always double check with the cook when you pick it up!

On the Menu, it lists what dishes can be made gluten free. I ordered the Pad Thai and was told that they would just use a different sauce to make it gluten free. However, every dish in the restaurant was cooked in one of the two same wok pans which were not cleaned once the whole 20 minutes I was watching while waiting for my food. Definitely cross contaminated and I got sick. Don’t go there.

I have been to Thai Express a number of times over the past year. The food is very delicious and has not resulted in any gluten related issues in the times I have been there. One of the better GF options in my opinion.

I highly recommend the green curry.

Ordered through their online system for pick up. Was able to request gluten free, seems built into the order process. I had chicken pad thai and it was great- no reactions so far!

Ate a chicken curry and a chicken pad thai from here. They were super nice and the food was filling.

I eat often in that food chain and even though they say their gf option is not for celiac, i have never reacted after eating their gf options.
