wheatbythewayside Celiac here. I’ve had many of their gluten-free items and have never been sick. I’ve had the breads, muffins, several of their packaged snacks, mini cupcakes, and pancake mix to name a few. 1 reply

diane043054 I have 15 members in my family who are celiac (varying degrees). A few have had reactions from someone using a contaminated knife after making a sandwich or a single bite (that was spit out) of non-gf food. We use TJ’s gf products all the time and haven’t had any issues or reactions. Love it when they offer new items. Saddened for those who can’t tolerate.

jean125282 Thank you everyone for your comments on Trader Joe’s. Wish it was closer.

nickinnon I’m a symptomatic celiac and I’ve never been sick from one of their GF products—as long as the fine print doesn’t include something like “made on equipment shared with wheat,” etc. Some of their GF labeled products still have cross contact, so read the info carefully! But their packaged nuts are the only ones I buy, as most from Whole Foods, Target, etc. have notes about cross contact.

vincent182532 I have never had a problem eating GF foods from Trader Joe’s

aimeeceliac I used to eat lots of TJ’s gf items until the day I tried their gf English muffins and got violently sick from them. I no longer shop there except for the occasional tea or flowers. It definitely depends how sensitive you are, and I’ve gotten more sensitive over the years.

sophia94427 Some of their gf items have soy sauce so be sure to check the box! One time I had their frozen japche and I got glutened!

lm47 Don’t eat the gluten free muffins! I have been fine eating most of the other stuff and I am very sensitive.

TravelGlutenFree I’ve never been sick and have eaten over a dozen of their gf products

aveline Their oats were safe but something changed and now we don’t risk it. Otherwise we haven’t had problems unless it’s because something is out of stock or no longer sold there. Those GFDF pancakes have been out of stock for a while and not expected until December! (Northern NJ)

Rach558 Trader Joe’s- do others with celiac eat gluten free products from Trader Joe’s? Most of their gf products don’t have a gf certification. Are they safe for celiacs?
