I ha e eaten at Abuelo’s for years, always excellent food. January this year I was diagnosed with celiacs disease. I was so excited to see a whole page of gluten free items. I had the beef tacos with soft corn tortillas, excellent!!

Gluten Free menu is available. The food was great
I absolutely love this restaurant! I am Celiac and have extreme allergies to items. I have not once been sick or had any reaction to their food. It's the best Mexican restaurant in town! Flan is totally gluten-free too!
Yes
They are NOT Celiac friendly! I had discussion with the server who asked questions from the kitchen. When I got my food, I started to eat, a min later she ran over and said STOP, don't eat that! I was a few months ago, but I think it was a potato side with a cheese topping. She said the cheese sauce has gluten. She told me to eat around it. Since I have Celiac, I can't have that on my plate! I didn't go back. The pork tasted good, then I found out it had soy sauce... not sure if it was GF soy sauce or not. I really didn't eat what they gave me.
No
Have eaten here before and most recently on 4/22. Small number of GF choices but the waiter seemed to understand the allergy. They do NOT have a dedicated fryer (earlier post said they do). They were able to do baked GF chips which were ok. Overall a good experience but not great. Didn't get sick.
Yes
The staff did not know much about gluten and I got sick after eating here.

when I got the menu, the first thing I did was turn it over to see what else was on the back. sadly, it was blank. Very limited menu and nasty food means a non return.
Horrible food. Very few gf options. They tried to bake my chips and they were soggy. My fajitas had no seasoning and they tried to steam them with white wine. Poor choice for a gf person.

Great menu. Knowledgeable staff. They bake chips for you. Manager was very helpful with questions.
this place knows what they are doing and even have a dedicated fryer. loved the food and service. thanks
Very little gluten free options, which is extremely disappointing considering its a Mexican restaurant. Additionally after already asking about gluten I was served chips that weren't gluten free.

There is a separate gluten sensitive corner on the menu with enough choices. And I couldn’t choose and the chef made a surprise dinner for me. Super tasteful and super nice. 10/10. Can I move this restaurant to the Netherlands? ;-)

My husband and I eat here regularly. They have a gluten sensitive menu. There is no dedicated fryer, but they will bring you baked chips. Only one of the salasas (green) is gluten free. Portions are huge and we always have left overs. Staff is always nice.

The other reviews are incorrect- you ask for gluten free chips. They have a gluten free section of the menu with about eight items.
