They were great! They changed their gloves, cleaned the whole counter, brought out a special board, and took a bowl that had never been touched. It tasted amazing and I'd go back any day.
It is possible to get a safe meal here (or at least, my sensitive son has not had a problem here over 30+ times) but you have to be vigilant. Ask them to change gloves and insist on starting over if one employee does it but then hands your bowl to another employee who didn't change gloves. Make sure they don't put the slice of cheese in the warmer where the flour tortillas are heated. They seem to have gotten better about it over the last year, whether because they've gotten more training or because we've been so often. We always get the Mexican plate, have not tried anything else really.
Cross contamination
No
Went in to eat after reviewing the allergy list online, left empty handed. I told the person in line I had a wheat allergy and asked if he could change gloves. His English wasn't very good and he picked up the corn tortillas and asked if that's what I wanted. I said yes but I can't eat those now and asked if they had more in the back. He didn't understand what I was asking and so after getting no where I left. The staff stated at me during this conversation as if I had two heads. Bad bad experience....
Have been going to Anna’s since the early 2000’s but we moved away in 2007. Back now and my son has celiac. They have an online menu that mentions all of their allergens. I stuck with chips and guac for him today but the variety was good!

Felt very sick after eating here. Normally no issues but pretty sure I was glutened. They’ll change their gloves for an allergy but think there’s still cross contamination.

They will show you an ingredients list for every food they have, and then get clean utensils, a clean board, and fresh ingredients from the back. No cross contamination at all!
the only thing you can't have is the tortillas, but they have Mexican bowls, and you can have the corn tortillas too, so tacos are ok! Rice, beans, meats, everything is gluten free and amazingly fresh and delicious.
Amazing people who truly care, and don't treat you like an inconvenience!

Staff has an allergen list and will bring out a clean board, clean utensils, and even get ingredients from the back to make you a bowl free of gluten and cross-contamination!!! The only place I feel truly safe eating!
Yes
Do not go if you are celiac and concerned about cross contamination. No one seemed informed about what was safe or not and they were not concerned about being careful with gloves/utensils/ etc.
