Wow! What a dining experience for the celiacs! My husband is celiac and I am gluten sensitive. We had a hard time ordering just because there was so much yummy options to choose from! We went with a seafood platter, Cesar salad, classic poutine, and mozzarella sticks. The cod loin and onion rings were to die for! And don’t forget dessert, a deep fried butter tart (what!?) and a deep fried Mars-ish bar (obviously not a true Mars bar but their own gluten free creation. There were so many more options that are healthy too but since we rarely get all the deep fried things, we went all out! On our way out we made sure to stop by the freezers for all the goodness there. So many options and suppliers represented. We can’t wait to have these special treats at home! Quality frozen food!!! The service was fantastic, the owners personally visited us a few times and they even brought my husband a sample of some GF beer which was super thoughtful and just showed that extra mile of service. These people know what they are doing!!! Thank you so much for an amazing birthday dinner!

One of the best places to eat gf. I have eaten here twice and loved everything, especially the haddock. Desserts are amazing! They even sang me HAPPY BIRTHDAY 🎂 🥳 Frozen food freezers have a big variety of things you just don't ever see, like onion rings.

This charming spot is a gluten-free diner's dream come true!

I never dreamed I would be able to eat gluten-free fish and chips, but Annie's makes that possible. I became a GF peep when I was diagnosed with RA in 2012. My naturopath discovered it was gluten causing all my inflammation and it would 'turn on' my autoimmune response (this discovery was made via an elimination diet). I cannot cheat or it means months of misery afterward, so I choose my restaurants very carefully.

Annie's is so safe. They use red zones marked with tape and a dedicated fryer to eliminate cross-contamination, and the staff is trained so that they are certified GF. Even the owner has gone GF because of all the nasty things gluten, which is not natural and a by-product of genetic engineering, does to your body (read Wheat Belly and Grain Brain). I have spoken to them on several occasions and they go above and beyond what most restaurants do to ensure GF diners are safe. My husband and I have eaten here several times without ever having an issue.

The space is so quaint and cute. The wood at the counter and throughout looks like it came straight off a boat. There is such a cute beachside/East Coast feel to the spot. All the cute little nautical touches and warm lighting make the space very inviting. The staff is friendly and helpful and very conscious of GF dietary needs.

However, it is the food itself that sets this restaurant apart from ANY other restaurant where I've dined previously. I mean, GF fish and chips? I have never seen this available GF on any other menu. Usually, when I dine out the GF options are a burgerless bun (or GF bun if you're lucky), steak, salad, more places are getting better. But the great thing about Annie's is that almost the entire menu is GF!!! You can get the same things 'normal' people eat and here they are of exceptional quality and taste.

The battered halibut and onion rings are two of my favourites! You would never guess the breading is GF. It is DELICIOUS! Last night, I ordered scallops with my fish for takeout and didn't realize they were deep fried. I have never gotten them deep-fried before and these were incredible. The scallops were soft and buttery and the crust on them was so tasty. One of the best things I've eaten in my life! Of course, I had to get onion rings too, and the whole order from fish to fries to rings was just as amazing as always.

Annie's has an unbelievable number of frozen items in their takeout freezer too. I haven't explored every option yet, but I did bring home two GF eclairs. Again, would never guess they are GF. So good and got a huge thumbs up from very picky hubby too. I did see a baby turtle cheesecake (yes, also GF) in there. I do want to try one of those very soon. There is a lot more to explore at Annie's.

I also want to try more on the menu. I know they have GF mozza sticks. Where can you get those eating out? I've literally never seen the choices this place gives you on other menus. Most GF menus are so small and what I can order is so limited, but the choices are endless and delicious here. I can't wait to try the things on the menu I haven't ordered yet...if I can make myself give up eating that addictive halibut or those mouth-watering onion rings.

I always have to choose my restaurants for a trip or night out in advance and make sure GF options are offered. I've never seen the number of options or had the quality of taste on a GF menu like I do here, and it's close to Kitchener where I live, luckily. I'll keep coming back again and again because the taste is like the things I used to enjoy before I had to modify my diet, and I'm offered a variety of GF items I haven't seen at any other restaurant. Annie's truly is a dream come true for diners...whether you are GF or not!

First Time @ Annie’s but it won’t be my last! I am gluten intolerant and have not had fish & chips for 15 years( since being diagnosed) Everything was delicious and the staff were amazing. My husband and I shared the GF onion rings and mushrooms and he said you couldn’t tell they were GF. His meal was not GF and he enjoyed it very much. Mine was the half order of GF haddock and chips and was absolutely drool worthy.

We will definitely be back the next time we are in Stratford. We drove here from Fergus Ontario and it was well worth the visit, Thank you Annie’s 😋😋😋😋😋

I was diagnosed with celiac disease a year ago & have made the trip from Paris to Stratford to enjoy the delicious GF food at Annie's several times now! They have one of the most extensive GF menus I've seen & everything I have tried so far has been amazing...haddock, halibut, shrimp, fries, cheeseburger & chicken fingers. It's also the only place I've found that has GF onion rings & mozzarella sticks & they are soooo good...& the deep fried Mars-ish bar is out of this world!!! All of their dips, sauces, gravies, etc. are great too. Wide variety of frozen GF foods to take home as well. Service is great & it is one of the very few restaurants I've found that I am 100% comfortable dining at & not worried at all about getting "glutened" Highly recommend to both celiacs & non-celiacs. Came here for all you can eat haddock and chips on a Friday- wow! Not only was the service fantastic, but the food was cooked perfectly. My husband and I are both celiac and we came with another couple who doesn't normally eat gluten-free but decided to that night. They said it was the best fish and chips they've ever had! Everything is separated and marked as GF so no chance of accidentally contaminating. This is the first time we have felt safe eating out in a long time. And let me tell you, their gluten-free menu is so extensive!! We had garlic bread, poutine, and deep fried cheese sticks along with the gluten-free all you can eat. Just wow. 12/10

We went to this restaurant because of the gluten free options. I was so excited to eat gluten free fish and chips. Unfortunately it was not safe and I was glutenized. I also got takeout for my son who is celiac as well and he was sick too and we ate different menu items. They assured me it was a separate fryer but it had to have been contaminated as I had fish and he had wings.

it was super busy when we went, all the food was absolutely phenomenal, it's the first time I've been able to have battered mushrooms, onion rings OR fried fish since I've learned about my gluten intolerance and it was all amazing, everyone I was with is non gf, we shared the mushrooms and I had them all try the onion rings and we all agreed they were some of the best we've ever had! the haddock was also incredible, some of the best fish I've ever had. I'm eager to go back for Newfie fries and desserts as they're a childhood favourite I haven't been able to have in years.

The breaded gluten free fish was made in a seperate fryer. I ordered the lightly breaded haddock and an order of sweet potato fries. I received 2 good size pieces of very tasty fish and fries. It was so wonderful to not have to worry as there wasn't any chance of cross contamination. Dessert was a delicious pecan butter tart. The waitress, Shannon, was very friendly. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

I was pleasantly surprised with Annie's new offerings for gluten free fish and chips! They are new to this and are therefore very keen on learning about Celiac Disease and how they can help their customers enjoy their dining experience. Side note: up charge for gf batter … but of course?!?! I chose the lightly battered haddock and fries, both are cooked in their own designated deep fryers and delicious! I got take out which included a generous helping of fries. Looking forward to dining there again soon.

On the way into the restaurant, we were asked if we wanted GF menus before we even said that we were celiacs. The staff are extremely knowledgeable about celiac issues and just about the whole menu is available GF including a decent selection of desserts. The food is tasty and each plate comes marked "GF" just so there is no doubt. Plus (when we were there at least) they have a selection of 7 or 8 different Glutenberg beers - many of which are not usually available in Ontario. Recommended.

Wonderful location. They have a seperate grill for gluten-free meals. They also do an awesome job normalising Gluten-free, offering the menu every time they sit a guest. Drove for an hour to try this place out and it did not disappoint. Really great food. They gave me a piece of gluten free cheesecake (that isn’t on the menu at the time of posting this) and it was amazing. Will be back.

Staff was very comfortable with celiac and dairy free and made me feel comfortable, assured of GF designated fryer, etc. got very sick shortly after eating. Not sure if it was gluten or just because I never have fried food anymore.

They have some delicious fish and chips that can be made gluten free in a dedicated fryer. They also have fried onions, coleslaw etc. Very tasty

Annie's was a heaven sent when Celiac made it difficult to enjoy fish and chips again. When we started going there I never got sick, but lately I have been getting sick. Not sure if it's cross continuation or my stomach didn't like the oil.

Great gluten free fish & chips (batter and dedicated fryer) — staff very knowledgeable and friendly.

Wonderful gf fish, onion rings, and dessert! We will be back!

Excellent homemade gluten free fish n chips with their own dedicated fryer.

Great variety of gluten free options with a dedicated fryer and homemade sauces and batters. They staff is very knowledgeable and friendly and understand celiac disease. They are gluten-friendly bc they don’t have a dedicated kitchen but have dedicated fryers. AND gluten free desserts. Was a nice option to eat at with our gluten-eating friends :)
