Food is really good with a pretty good selection of gluten free food and options. I am celiac and have had no issues stomach wise.

Amazing shrimp fajitas! I had no issues after eating here. Unfortunately, you can’t have chips and salsa, but the rest of the food makes up for that.

Newly diagnosed with celiacs so was excited for a place with a gluten free menu. I got the cheese enchilada it did say wasn’t recommended for celiacs because it could have cross contamination but I felt fine after

They had a gf menu also offered dairy free items. The server and the menu stated their tortilla chips are fried in a fryer that would cross contaminate them. When I told her I had celiac the server seemed knowledgeable but my dish came with tortilla chips on it and had to be sent back ( it was delivered by someone besides the server). So just double check your dish. The food tasted pretty good and I didn't get sick.

Got the Shrimp Enchiladas with green sauce, checked with the waiter that they were gluten free. I didn't have a reaction and I'm pretty sensitive, also the food was delicious and portions were huge. The drinks had paper straws and I requested a replacement since they often use wheat glue, they were super accommodating.

Went to this resturaunt for my mom's 73rd. They serve corn tortillas that have wheat also as an ingredient. After ingesting asked the waitress if tortilla If corn tortillas contained she said yes. I told her I'm intolerant to wheat and she said I didn't inform her of that. I shouldn't have had to I ordered CORN TACOS. I didn't order anything that ever has wheat/gluten in it. I've eaten at many Mexican establishments and this was a first. The food was bad too. Worst Mexican food and service ever.

Ordered takeout online then called to confirm order could be made with precautions. Staff was helpful and friendly. Soy sauce used is Tamari. Fryer is shared so I skipped any chips, but ordered the fajitas with corn tortillas and thought they were tasty.

Our server was very good and knowledgeable about Celiac. He suggested not to have the chips since it is a shared fryer. We got beef and shrimp tacos. Super simple and not exciting. But at least they felt prepared gf and safe.

Menu items but marked but I had enchiladas that were amazing! Lots of dishes made with corn tortillas. Chips marked on the menu as fried in a shared frier. Food tasted amazing

I am celiac and I had the chicken fajitas without dairy, and they were delicious. They subbed out the regular guacamole for the dairy free guacamole. Server was very knowledgeable about allergies.

Got takeout from here tonight. Seems like they have lots of gf options and most un-fried items are, or can be made, gf. Really good food! No CC reactions!

Great for Celiac. Had the cheese dip with corn tortillas instead of chips-Amazing! Also had the chicken tacos with mashed pinto beans and their green rice. Only thing gross was the veggie chili-tastes like it came from a can. Since it is so hard for me to find Mexican food to eat, I was so happy. I am super sensitive celiac and did not get sick at all, waiter was very knowledgeable.

Staff is very knowledgeable about cross contamination and what is safe for celiacs
Food was delicious. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about what was safe for me to eat and was great at making sure I wouldn’t get sick. I would definitely eat here again

The gluten free menu is so confusing!! Basically very little that is ok for celiacs! I was disappointed at first but they did bring warm corn tortillas for the guac and my azul bowl was good. You will have to ask questions and make sure they know you are celiac
Chips are not gluten free since they are fried in the same fryer as wheat battered food items per the waitress when we went on 12/28/19. Also they cannot do the sweet potato or fish tacos since also fried. So for vegetarian options, quite limited and disappointing. Good margaritas though.
Dedicated gf menu with tons of great options. All the food was delicious.

9/1/19 update: food is always delicious, I get the shrimp fajitas. Have never gotten sick. My new favorite drink is their gf frozen Tito’s lemonade. Amazing! Highly recommend!
1/28/18 update: You need to make sure you get the right corn tortilla. In addition to a flour tortilla (gluten), they have two corn tortillas: one is a hybrid of corn and wheat (contains gluten) and the other is 100% corn and gluten free. The unsafe hybrid is more yellowish-orange-ish while the safe gluten free one is lighter in color (more towards white). The Manager is going to order gluten free stickers to mark the outside tinfoil of the 100% gluten free one at our suggestion so no mix-ups happen. If you don't tell them you have an allergy/celiac/intolerance, they will automatically give you the hybrid one with wheat. So, saying "corn torilla" is not enough.---------------We had an excellent experience here! My son and I ordered the fajitas and told them we couldn't have anything cooked on the grill or that came in contact with gluten or dairy. They assured us they took these things very serious and that they would be very careful. They said they would substitute corn tortillas for the flour and that they would cook them in tinfoil on the grill (and the fajitas were cooked in a separate skillet that they brought to the table). The fajitas were delicious and so was the rice and black beans and the portions were very large. This was a definite treat for us! We are super sensitive and did not get sick. We will definitely be returning!! They had a 2-sided menu; gluten free on one side and dairy free on the other side. They helped us pick something that would work for GF and DF. Very impressed with this restaurant and it's close to our house so we can't wait to return!

Our waiter was the best. Very helpful and knowledgeable. Be sure to ask for the GF menu. Although written a little odd it was easy to figure out. Food was good. Try the Golden Organic Beet side dish!

GF menu is available and clearly marks what is not celiac friendly. I had kale salad and curry tacos so good and Paloma margarita! Everyone in our group enjoyed their meal.

I just ate a burrito bowl with shrimp. So far so good. Will update if I end up sick. One note- they don’t have a dedicated fryer, so no chips or sweet potatoes (??) which I was really looking forward to. Oh well. I also had an adult frozen lemonade which is made with Tito’s. It’s kinda sweet and definitely not a winter drink, but it’s good! I’m interested in trying the enchiladas and a couple other dishes. They also have a nice fire pit in front that you can sit around while eating and listening to live music.
Knowledgeable staff. Tri-tip taco was one of the best I've ever had.
We ate here twice. First night was fantastic. Food, service, live music were great. It was cold out and they even brought us blankets! It was so good that we came back the next night
Second night, service was slow to nearly nonexistent, each item we ordered came out wrong. One didn't come out at all. We had to ask about it. The tacos were on plain corn tortillas. Uninteresting at best. While they have gf options, there are restrictions that make it more worth your while to try a different place.
Food was great. Wait staff knowledgeable. Just go there!

The server basically held the hand of the cook and bartender to make certain that there was no cross-contamination risk.

Why bother to have a Mexican restaurant that talks about how careful they are with gluten and not have a way to fry your chips so they can be gluten free - what a disappointment! Didn't bother to eat here as I want nachos.
Their menu says they can make most dishes gluten free. I had the cheese enchiladas in the red mole rojo sauce and they substituted corn tortillas instead of the corn/flour hybrid they said they normally use. It was very tasty and a large portion that did not make me sick! The menu states the chips are not gluten free so I did not try them. I also had a Mexican Mule, which was delish!

We have eaten at Azul twice in the last 4 months. I love their jicama pico on top of their carnitas pork bowl. They have a gluten free and a dairy free menu with a good number of options. I posted a review on my blog Alexis's Gluten Free Adventures.

Very tasty and great GF options. Staff seems knowledgeable, however - we ordered tortillas and one of the three orders was accidentally not GF (some wheat mixture). It was our attention to the difference in color that saved us from a bad reaction.

we eat here every time we come to Tahoe, usually twice a day lol!

This place is awesome! Great selection of food (definitely get the sweet potato tacos) and great service! Very reasonably priced and always great service
Excellent food. Gluten free options. Staff very helpful in choosing gluten free.
Great options and knowledgeable staff. Delicious food. I only wish I could bring my own chips in - but the corn tortillas were delicious as a substitute. Would eat here again.

Gluten free menu had many options. Sat in bar and bartender had knowledge about what not only was gluten free but dairy free. He knew the ingredients in the guacamole which included buttermilk. Ordered a side of goat cheese with no problem. I will be back.
Very knowledgable of what they could prepare gf. Our waiter Keven was outstanding. He gave recommendations and checked with the chef if he did know. Food was outstanding! Will return!
Great food, great staff and great prices! our wait person Katy new exactly what we could eat and took the time to let the kitchen know to be cautious with our meal preparation! Can't wait to go back!
This place has a lovely rustic environment. I went on margarita Monday which was 5 dollars and unbelievably fantastic. they have over 30 tequilas to choose from. the chips are fried with gluten items so you could choose to tear up some glutenfree corn tortillas with your dip or salsa. any taco can be made with a gf corn tortilla. We had the shrimp ceviche which is pineapple based. it was mild flavored. the beef lomo saltado bowl was incredibly flavorful. you could have the 1/2 rotisserie Petaluma chicken plate, or the enchiladas suiza but make sure to specify use of gf corn tortilla in this dish. the sides seem to be gluten free by description, like the cucumber salad, the golden beets, green rice, and cinnamon cranberry quinoa. ask to make sure! this is one the best Latin places I've ever eaten at. Don't pass this place up!

The wait staff is knowledgable. The GF menu is small but worth it.
