They have a GF menu. My daughter had a GF delicious hamburger with portobello mushroom and mozzarella cheese. She loved it. Very good service too.

Large Gf menu and server assured us that there was a dedicated fryer and separate GF cooking space. We were less than impressed with the actual food, though. Everything we had (fries, mashed potatoes, burger, grilled pork chop) was just average and didn't at all feel worth the price paid. I wouldn't recommend Back Deck as your first choice, there are better choices in the area. But they do appear to have safe GF protocols, so if you have to eat here you can likely eat safely.

I had a great experience at Back Deck. The server was really helpful and they have a really thorough gluten free menu to choose from. Food was great - I kept mine super simple but it was well cooked and delicious and my non gluten free friends even enjoyed a couple of options off the gluten free menu too. Drinks good too! Would definitely go back and highly recommend!

This is a great spot to stop to eat for anyone eating gluten free. I emailed before going and the responses was very reassuring that they cater to celiacs, there are full gf menus for brunch, lunch and dinner, the fryer is dedicated which means we can have the fries too! They said gf meals are made completely separate from other meals and handled with allergy protocols. I had the chicken burger (udis bun) and fries and it was the perfect lunch for a day in downtown Boston! The server was knowledgeable and polite and happy to reassure me š !! Definitely worth stopping in and they have a nice patio as well!

I asked the server for the gluten free menu and it was a pretty good size with a good amount of options even desserts. I let them know I couldnt have both gluten and dairy they did a great job making sure I didn't get sick. I ordered the salmon with bismati rice and asparagus. It was very good and well seasoned due to ibs I could only have a couple of the asparagus, which was yummy. I got the elderflower margarita for a drink and it was pretty good. the server was good and attentive.

Great experience. We went for brunch on a Sunday. I liked the atmosphere of the restaurant. My Celiac teen had her own gluten free menu. Sirloin tips, eggs, potatoes, mushrooms and for desert a flourless chocolate sundae. Precautions taken.

Very good!! I had the mussels and a shrimp cocktail. Outstanding food. They said they use only cornstarch for the fried food but as it was my first time, I wanted to be safe. Their cocktails are STRONG!

I've been to Back Deck three times now (once for dinner, twice for brunch) - extensive gluten-free menus, delicious food, and I feel very safe! They have a dedicated fryer as well. New favorite go-to brunch spot for sure!

Still learning how to navigate restaurants as a newly diagnosed celiac. This place made it easy. Entire GF menu had solid options including things I thought I would have to avoid.

Waitress was very knowledgeable about gf items and indicated there was a dedicated fryer AND grill! I’ve never seen our 7yo Celiac son eat out like this before anywhere (unless it was pizza). He had the kids chicken fingers and fries. The sauce was apple cider based, but the server wasn’t sure it was gf (I didn’t know if soy sauce had been added), so we just took it off the plate. Ketchup is the dipping sauce of choice anyway. Atmosphere was amazing and our food was so good! We’ll be back for sure!

Nice place. Shrimp and Greek salad was delicious. Choices on separate gf menu.

I've never had an issue with getting sick here, but the food is consistently TERRIBLE. Twice potato wedges have been so overcooked that they were crunchy in the middle.
Yes
Was pleasantly surprised to be told they have only one fryer and everything in it is gluten free. My daughter enjoyed tasty chicken tenders breaded in chick pea flour and fries.
Delicious burgers, and the French fries are gluten free. The brownie sundae is definitely worth it
Gluten free menu. Food was okay! Dedicated frier as well.
Not only were the service and food lackluster but the server assured me my son's allergies & celiac would be addressed. My son's burger then arrived with cole slaw slathered all over (he's allergic to eggs). The server apologized profusely once I pointed it out but the manager didn't seem to care at all! Will not be returning.
Yes
I ordered off the gluten free menu and I was given my food with regular pita bread, I asked for another one to be made and the waitress told me to just take off the pita bread. I told her no, the bread is touching everything and I don’t want to get sick. They remade it. I also ordered a creamy tomato soup and there were croutons on top. Because I got my order to go I didn’t know the croutons were on it until I got to my destination. I’m not sure what happened with the communication piece with the kitchen but there was clearly a disconnect.
Yes
I ate here two weeks ago with my friend. Both of us have celiac disease, and while we were assured the food would be safe and even the frying oil wouldn’t cause cross contamination, we both got horribly sick. The waiter was nice, but clearly someone in the kitchen didn’t know what they were doing.
No
Nice variety of gluten free foods, staff was very knowledgeable about gluten free and cross contamination. Love the atmosphere in the restaurant. Food was delicious!
Yes
Food was delicious! Staff was very knowledgeable and careful about celiac disease and cross contamination there is a quite extensive gluten free menu which includes safe fried products, burger buns, and sauces. Our waitress in particular, Melissa made it very clear to the kitchen staff that my food could not be cross contaminated. The highlight of the meal was the wonder gluten free desserts, would highly recommend the flourless brownie sundae!!!

The food was ok - just a basic burger, nothing special. And it was gluten free. But the service here was pretty lack luster. The waitress left us for ages before coming to take our order and wasn't very helpful when we had questions.
It's not a place I'd head back to in a hurry.

I was in the mood for a salad and it was great. The snicker sundae is worth the stop!

My husband and I ordered the same burger except mine was GF. Mine was more expensive and I got less food. My husband got onions, tomato and cucumber in his. I only got the meat. Won't be going back. 1 star given for having a gf menu and the chips were good.
