I could not believe my eyes when I saw a sushi place that offered so many GF options. Only 3 items on the menu are not GF, and I wouldn’t want them Anyway. The crispy rice is AMAZING! All the sushi rolls are delicious. This will quickly become a regular spot.

Gluten free sushi with tempura in a gluten free fryer? Yes please! The sushi bar is essentially dedicated gluten free with a couple of items from the kitchen containing gluten that are marked. Our server was very familiar with celiac disease and it was easy to order and delicious. We also loved how varied the flavor profiles of their signature rolls were. Bonus: across the street from Frankie and Jo’s for dairy free gluten free ice cream with gluten free waffle cones!!

The service was top-notch and knowledge relating to being celiac comforting. The whole menu, minus three items, was totally gluten free. The waitstaff still wanted to know if I had any allergies to make doubly certain not to cross contaminate. We each had a specialty cocktail, yum. Gomae, Miso, two sushi rolls with gf tempura, karage chicken, and topped it off with Macha manicotti. The food was outstanding! What a treat to be able to order without hesitation. A must visit anytime you're in the area!

Absolutely incredible! I don’t normally take risks with gluten, but a place that has so many gluten free items on the menu that they only label the TWO items that do have gluten?! So good. I felt comfortable. All staff were knowledgeable about gluten. Didn’t get sick, and LOVED every bite. They only use rice flour for tempura and tamari for soy sauce.

I have Celiac AND a soy allergy and ordered this for delivery. Soy is in nearly every dish on a sushi menu, even dressings, so it is hard to accommodate. But Bamboo went ABOVE & BEYOND to accommodate me. Instead of canceling my order, they went through and helped me created a CUSTOM order step by step to ensure I was safe and satisfied. If you have ANY allergies, eat here. They will absolutely ensure you have an amazing experience. I was blown away and will continue to order from Bamboo.

Celiac. Almost everything there is gluten free. The few gluten containing items are marked with a "G". I had the tempura shrimp and a rainbow roll. It was nice not having to worry about the sauces. The service and ambience was fantastic. One note so you don't get surprised, they are cashless.

I wouldn’t believe it if I hadn’t eaten it myself! Amazing gluten free sushi. Gluten free tempura shrimp in my sushi. And tamari instead of soy sauce at all the tables. There are truly only a couple menu items with gluten (a burger and a steak). The hostess was a celiac and she reassured me because I was so skeptical. The entire staff was incredible. I can’t say enough good things.

I also have an egg allergy and they go above and beyond to make sure that I stay safe. The manager sat with me and apologized because they actually had the remake food before sending it to the table when he double checked the allergies and saw egg. So yes I saw above they did recently add a couple more menu items with gluten but they are all on the similar section of the grill to the burger. The manager explained to me they actually already re did the recipes to eliminate the other gluten remaining items (I think it was the spicy edamame) Therefore not creating any more risk than there was before. I strongly believe they take allergies seriously and that it’s safer than any other restaurant that it is not entirely dedicated gluten-free.

Their hard-copy menu designates anything with gluten with a G but there are only a few things like the burger bun with gluten (it’s a little hard to tell from online menu). They only use tamari and have designated gf fryer. Their tempura is gf. I ordered Rainbow Roll, amazing!

My favorite sushi spot in seattle! Vast majority of menu is gluten free and they only serve GF tempura and have a dedicated fryer. Their menu did recently change and a few additional items have gluten now, but after speaking with the manager, I still feel safe eating here. Appears to be very minimal risk of cross contamination. She also informed me that they are in the process of adapting some of the new menu items with gluten so that they will be gluten free as well.

2022-03-31 edit: they changed the menu in March 2022 and I no longer believe it's safe for celiacs.
Some of the best gluten free food I've had from a restaurant in Seattle. I got the sunomono salad, vegetable tempura, and crispy rice spicy tuna sushi. Will be ordering again for sure.

This was a huge bummer, the menu and kitchen used to be entirely gluten free, with exception to the burgers. As of March of 2022 the menu changed and introduced multiple new roles containing gluten. The chopsticks are also wooden meaning cross contamination is inevitable.

They just changed their menu and have included food containing gluten that the waiters said can cross contaminate the rest of the food. My family use to go regularly but it seems like we will need to stop

A good experience overall. The server was helpful in terms of checking with the kitchen to confirm my safety. Majority of the menu is gluten free and tasty. I would recommend avoiding the crispy rice though, not very good at all. They offer a good happy hour. Also, our server had celiac disease and stated that she had no issue eating the restaurant’s food on a regular basis.

The food was amazing! And the waiters were even better, Nunu helped us and made us feel very safe eating all the food. Best part is that of the whole menu only two items contain gluten - everything else if gf - amazing to see a menu where items are marked as containing gluten instead of the other way around.

Incredible experience. Everything was gluten free except buns because the owner had celiac. One of the best experiences I’ve had since diagnosis.

Right when I walked in, I asked the host about their ability to accommodate the needs of people with celiac disease. Without missing a beat, she picked up the menu and showed me the only two unsafe items on the menu, the burger and the vegetable buns. The entire rest of the menu is gluten free! She explained that all of the soy sauce used is gluten free tamari, and they even have gluten free tempura! When I was seated I asked the server a few more questions just to be sure and he assured me that I was safe and that they take gluten-free needs very seriously. I had the eel, the black cod, and a couple of awesome rolls. Everything was delicious, fresh and beautiful. It felt wonderful to eat there without worry.
Yes
Without a doubt the most Celtic friendly sushi in Seattle. We were totally blown away that everything was safe but found out this was due to the owner being celiac. Shrimp tempura rolls!?!?
Yes
Had chicken karaage, sunset role and nw philly in happy hour. Great food and drinks. Most of the items are gluten free. Sweet cream panna cotta was ok. Loved the black sesame brownie. Overall great experience.
Yes
All menu items but a few are gluten free! The tempura and chicken karaage (fried chicken) were tasty. Servers were knowledgeable. The yuzu mochi crunch cake was the amazing too. Will be back!

Amazingly delicious and creative food, and you can feel safe eating here for sure. Our waiter was very comfortable discussing gluten intolerance and told us that only two things on the menu contain gluten: a burger entree (the bun, which can be substituted), and a steamed bun appetizer. The fryer is safe so you can order delicious tempura. ALL sauces they use or prepare for the sushi rolls or other entrees are gluten free. Our server even came back to give us some unique information about the Inari Nigiri (the tofu pocket around a rice roll), which we had ordered. He said at another sushi restaurant where he had worked, the tofu is pre-marinated in a ponzu/soy sauce that contained wheat. He checked with the chef at Bamboo to confirm their Inari is truly gluten free. Wow! Thank you to Bamboo Sushi for doing this - I only wish more Asian restaurants would get on board and source their soy sauce ingredients to eliminate the gluten! You may also be pleasantly surprised here if you are looking for a great vegetarian meal - their vegetarian/vegan rolls are very good, not to mention the veggie tempura.
