Food was great-I'm experiencing morning sickness so I'm really fussy, but the burger was fantastic-no greasy taste, just delicious and the price was about right for g free. Nice atmosphere, friendly waitstaff so I will be back again for sure!
June 2017 -- Just wanted to update as my last review was in 2014. I have continued to dine here very often and have never once had an issue. They really take gluten free/celiac disease seriously. The burgers are very good. Give it a try. Enjoy! ------ Feb 2014 -- Fabulous! They took every precaution, have dedicated dryers for the French fries or sweet potato fries. I felt very safe and had no reactions. I will definitely return!
Great food and gluten friendly. Everything on the menu is labeled for allergies. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. Their fryers are dedicated just for French fries
Be specific about the fact that you are Celiac (if necessary) and you shouldn't have an issue. Love this place!
We ate here last night and it was very good. They use an udis tapioca bun which tastes like it has never been frozen. Not a great bun but better than a lettuce wrap. I loved the dedicated fryer sweet potato fries. The toppings are marked so you can choose gluten free toppings. Our waitress tried to tell me the "stout onions" had no stout in them so I ordered them. But since she flagged the meal as gluten free, someone else caught the error and she came back to change my order. The flourless chocolate cake was delicious.
Excellent! Once again find me GF helped us find a yummy restaurant. Buns were amazing and I was so happy that I could have French fries! A don't miss!
Lots of gluten free options and delicious!
I love Bareburger gluten free bun is great. But the best part is the buttermilk ranch dressing it's pure heaven. This celiac has never gotten sick :)
YUM! Had the Bison burger on GF bun with fries. Delicious.
Been twice. First time was amazing. Service, food, staff that knew their stuff, very accommodating and allergy friendly. Second time we had an ordeal with a very rude hostess which kind of ruined our meal. The food though, always great, and wait staff both nice and helpful.
Make sure you let your waitor know youre GF before you order. I had no issues the first time but the second time we ordered fries and they weren't gf. their fries are usually cooked in a dedicated fryer. The owner Steve was gracious about the issue but a white hipster looking waitress was just rude about it. The new fries they gave us were fine it seemed but I'm not sure since I had a big gluten attack. Just take precaution with the fries. otherwise the burger is beyond delicious and the gf buns are safe.
It's good. Smaller burgers than most places (which isn't a bad thing for portion control) We went there on a Saturday and they ran out of Chicken at 5pm. Really?
The most amazing burger place! they have many kinds of meat to chose from, the veggie burger is phenomenal, and delicious gf bun. Also the bananas foster milkshake is to die for!
Staff was very knowledgeable of food allergies. Delicious burger and one of the butter GF buns I’ve ever had. Will definitely come back.
horrible. i went with my husband for lunch before the auto show. i ordered grilled chicken, spinach & tomato on a collard green wrap. told them i was gf/df/grain free/sf and not to bring my food out with my husband's. they brought mine out with his sauce on my plate & the two of them were carried together. i nima tested & my nima found gluten. we asked the runner to get our server. nothing. we asked for the manager. nothing. they didn't care. stay far away. i am giving them 1 star bc it will not let me give zero.
Great food! They tell you upfront to let them know if any dietary needs. The food was really good and the first time I have been able to safely eat dessert at a restaurant in ages. It is a little pricey so that is the only con. I spent $30 for a burger, slaw, dessert, and 20% tip.
The waiter asked if we had any food allergies as soon as he greeted us. When I mentioned I had celiac he went over everything that was safe. I had a delicious burger, milkshake, and fries and had no celiac reaction. Can't wait to visit Columbus again to eat here again.
Probably the BEST gf breakfast we’ve ever had! So many options, including waffles and pancakes! I had the pancake flight (syrup/butter, blueberry, coconut/lemon curd). Wife had the tottie too hottie (poached egg, turkey bacon queso and pico over a bed of crunchy tots). Highly recommended!
They do state that it is not a 100% gf establishment but I have eaten here a bunch of times with no issues and I am extremely sensitive. I am just extremely clear with them about my Celiac and make sure they know they need to change gloves, use separate surfaces, etc. The fries are all in a separate fryer from the onion rings so totally safe. The owner is really involved with the community and open to feedback and I have definitely mentioned the importance of cross contamination issues so maybe this has helped them to get serious about it.
direguard my picture...I accidentally posted it here rather than on Wahlburgers. I've never been to this BareBurger, but overall I like BareBurger and the Gluten Free and Vegetarian options. I usually get my vegetarian burger in a lettuce wraps and have had no problems with Gluten or Nuts being in my food but it is was too expensive for me when my lettuce wrapped burger costs $15 just by itself not including sides or a drink. they charge for every little modification. so BareBurger is a treat venue for me, because I can get food just as good for less money elsewhere.
Whole family loved it. My celiac son LOVED the burger bun! Staff completely aware of celiac & cross-contamination. Dedicated fryer. Although the menu lists the legal language about possible cross-contamination, staff were knowledgeable & we had no problems.
Ordered a gf burger. Tested the bun and burger using my Nima. Bun was gf but the burger itself had gluten in it. Will not be eating here again
Fantastic service, and even better food! GF rolls to sandwich a delicious burger between and a clearly marked menu full of GF options. When taking our order the waiter even asked if my GF roll choice was due to an allergy and flagged my order for the kitchen.
The menu does state that the food here may not be 100% safe for Celiacs, but I'm incredibly sensitive, and have eaten here almost 10 times without any reaction whatsoever! I get the Farmstead Wrap (veggies), regular or sweet potato fries, and even tried a shake tonight! All delicious, no reaction. They also serve Glutenberg beer here, which is one of the few good ones I've tried. Of course, play it safe and do what's best for you, don't take my word for it, but I absolutely love the food, location, and staff here!
My wife and I are both gluten-free and bare burger has gluten-free buns that are very good. Also, their sweet potato fries. They have a gluten-free beer but it's on tap and they don't guarantee the barrel as gluten-free. 4 stars because sometimes the service isn't the greatest
I have celiac disease and I go here all the time. Ive had multiple dates here, Ive brought friends, Ive even gone here just for the fox tail pale ale (delicious gf beer) and sweet potato fries they offer. The staff is very knowledgeable about celiac and gluten free. They offer a really good bun too. oh and there milkshakes are amazing. Love this place! definitely going back. Worth the price.
Bareburger is awesome! They are very aware of gluten issues and have gluten-free burger buns and, most important of all, their fries are in a dedicated fryer and therefore truly gluten-free! My son loves his burger and fries there. I love that they offer a collared wrap alternative to a bun and like their Brussels sprouts. And all of their gluten-free salads. I don't eat dairy either, and can get so many things here, it's truly a fun relaxed eating experience. Their menu is completely marked for gluten, dairy and other allergens, and they will show you a listing of all the ingredients in all their foods and sauces if you ask. One of our favorite places!
Anywhere I can get fries is a huge plus for me! Delish burger and GF sweet potato fries. Felt fine after
Our family and friends (a party of 8) went to Bareburger because my youngest who was recently diagnosed with celiac, had been there on a date the week before and loved it. Impressively, the first question our server asked after welcoming us was whether anyone has a food allergy. Burgers were very unique (you could choose one of theirs or build your own), and I had the Blazin' Cattle with beef, pepper jack, fried pickles, spicy fermented slaw, pickled jalapeños, green leaf, sriracha mayo, brioche bun. It was very flavorful. Others had everything from bison to chicken to veggie and were all very pleased. Service was great and place has a cool rustic vibe. My son is a senior at Stevens and that took 10% off the bill which was a very reasonable $133 + tip. We will definitely be back and look forward to trying different burgers! PS - while they can’t guarantee no cross contamination with gluten, my son (and many other Celiac customers I’ve read about on the Find Me Gluten Free app) report no issues with eating at the Hoboken location. Enjoy!
