As someone GF DF. - I had the Mongolian Beef mixed with the rice noodles vs rice. The sauce was very flavorful but the dish was made with excess oil so that was disappointing. The beef was a bit tough and required chewing. The mushrooms were quite tasty but the dish was heavy on the scallions. My husband had the chicken fried rice. He enjoyed the dish but it had remnants of peanut oil smell. If you have allegories to nuts or peanuts you probably need to be careful or ask if your dishes can be prepared in a separate place.
Found Big Bowl on FMGF. Good reviews and 1/2 block from our hotel. great variety on GF menu. Server was very knowledgeable. would go back. felt safe
We ordered the GF dessert which was chocolate cake with a tiny scoop of ice cream and chocolate sauce and caramel sauce. I thought it was extremely rich, but good. I only took a few bites. My son ate his entire portion.
Updating review as we stopped here on way to airport. My son had the GF pad thai and I had the lettuce wrap appetizer. Both were delicious.
Both my daughter and I are super sensitive celiacs. She is also somewhat limited on what meat she chooses to eat. We loved this place so much! We ate here 2 days in a row. Great dessert that was gluten free. Separate gluten free menu. Food comes out on plate with colored rim so you can tell it is allergy. Highly highly recommend.
I really enjoyed this restaurant. They had a gluten-free menu with a lot of options. I got stirfry with salmon garlic and ginger sauce and cauliflower rice. There were lots of vegetables and it was flavorful. Great atmosphere …,my family enjoyed their meals as well… I did not get sick and it felt very safe. It’s also located in a cool part of the city down by the park … the Art Institute of Chicago etc. enjoy!
Fructose /fructan sensitivity- I let the waitress known my sensitivity and they were SO helpful in finding food options. Eating here by far exceeded my expectations as a patron with food sensitivities.
My organization ordered staff lunch from here so I spoke on the phone with a member of staff to place my individual order. The staff was very knowledgeable with gluten free as well as my allium allergy. I ended up with the beef and broccoli with gluten free pad Thai noodles. It was the best stir Fry I’ve had in a long time. It reminded me of mall food court food. The food arrived with a big allergy label slapped on the front and was still hot!
The pad thai was incredible, the waiter was super nice, the gluten free menu is a separate tab, and the chocolate cake ice cream was SO GOOD. I usually wait to make sure I don’t get sick before making my review…but this was so good, I’d do it again regardless. But it really seemed safe! (Just not the fortune cookie they give everyone at the end)
My service was out standing. I told the waiter that I need a dairy free, gluten free and a I had a mushroom allergy. He said milk wouldn’t really be a issue. But wanted me to give him a few options of what I was wanting because they use mushroom soy sauce. So I did and ended up with the orange chicken made with rice noodles. It was so good and stuffed myself. I felt very confident eating here. The waiter told me a number of times they take allergies very seriously there. Can’t wait to go back.
My boyfriend has celiac and he and I have eaten here several times and he's never gotten sick! The food is great and the staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. The separate gluten free menu is awesome:)
We ordered late night delivery to our hotel as this was one of the few businesses that offered gluten free options and was open after a long day of touring the city. I am normally apprehensive about ordering online due to my celiac disease, especially in an unfamiliar city, but these fears were unwarranted. I ordered pad thai and pho from the gluten free menu and made a note on the order in DoorDash that read "Gluten Free - Celiac Disease". The order arrived with bright pink allergy warning labels. I felt very safe eating and did not have a reaction. A note on tipping when ordering online through DoorDash: If you want your tip to go to the deliver rather than have the company use your tip to offset its own costs, tip in cash. Your driver will thank you! (See: https://qz.com/1659475/the-merits-of-tipping-your-doordash-delivery-worker-in-cash/ )
This was single he the best dining experience my daughter has had since being gluten-free. Going out to eat can be dreadful for someone with celiac. The owner noticed her writing down all of the things she would like to have in her meal rather than putting them in the bowl from the stirfry station. He personally made sure that her meal was prepared safely. We did an Nima test and it was free of gluten. He even waited while we ran the test to make sure it was safe. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the gluten-free curry it was the best I’ve had! He even followed up with a delicious gluten-free flourless chocolate cake with caramel icing. He made her feel special and it was fabulous to enjoy a safe and delicious meal out!
The have a designated GF menu which was such a relief. I had th me chicken pho for 1 which was good, but not prepared as traditionally as I had hoped. It was very sweet. I also had the GF summer rolls which were ok, and the chicken satay which was inedible. Overall, meh. Won’t be back. Felt nauseous afterwards for several hours - not sure if it is celiac friend.
Amazing food - separate gluten free menu and a delicious cider available. You could tell they were knowledgeable about celiacs and I felt very safe eating there. Will definitely return!
Knowledgeable staff informed us that gf food is prepared in own area with separate cookware. Large gf menu includes appetizers, soup, main dishes, and one dessert. GF soy sauce provided. Excellent food. I didn't have a reaction and I am very sensitive. Highly recommended. We went to 60 E Ohio st location.
Solid, tasty Asian food and a good sized GF menu. The server was well informed and courteous about our dietary needs.
