Traveled to Southfield for a work meeting. Workmates very accommodating and wanted to pick a place that had GF options for my sake. I had the carrot appetizer and a chopped salad with chicken and did not get sick. However, our server confirmed that several items marked GF on the menu are prepared in a shared fryer. Come on!
Had the gluten free ciabatta, the roasted sweet potatoes, roasted wings and a gluten free pizza followed my a salted caramel parfait for dessert. I’m not sure what to say about the prior review. I’m very gluten sensitive and my dining companion is celiac. We both enjoyed it and neither of us got sick.
Have loved this place for a while… but I have also been mislead many times. Many items are marked GF but when asking servers I continue to get varying answers about the level of safety. Brussel sprouts and pizza are 100% not safe for strict celiacs. Really upsetting as I’ve been told previously that both pizzas and brussel sprouts are safe. The brussel sprouts are fried in the same oil as everything else, and there is NOT a dedicated oven for GF pizzas.
I visited here because I have been searching for the best gluten free pizza in Ann Arbor and saw a comment on Reddit this might be it. I was happy to see that there were a few items on the menu that could be prepared gluten free. The pizza - margherita - didn’t disappoint. We also ordered a gluten free dessert to which my other companions were incredulous that it was gluten free - the dough was so chewy and tasty. Will be returning here!
Update: the second time i went back, I was told they do NOT have a dedicated oven and they just put the GF pizza on a tray to avoid contact. Not sure how I was assured twice last time that they did have a separate oven.
They have a dedicated gluten free pizza oven and assured me they take gluten allergies very seriously! The pizza and focaccia were delicious. They do not have a dedicated fryer so I avoided the fries and fried bread.
