In general the chain is pretty consistent. You have to ask for their GF/Allergen list menu. If you are more Paleo a great option is the quinoa bowl BUT they have added rice to it recently BUT you can request quinoa only and they will oblige. Just emphasize no rice. Some servers are clueless now as to what gluten, dairy and grains are. So be explicit. I wonder if they are no longer training per the requirements of the Gluten Intolerance Group.
pizzookie is what brings me there! I usually order to-go because it takes FOREVER to get through a meal in that restaurant. make sure they actually give you a gluten free pizzookie (I've accidentally been given a regular one before)
I ordered the gluten-free pizza to-go. The pizza is thin crust and comes with sauce and cheese. Each additional topping is $1.00 extra or $2.00 extra for grilled chicken. I only added grilled chicken and green peppers, because I thought the toppings were overpriced. Overall, I enjoyed the pizza. I always eat very healthy, so this pizza was good to me.
Staff was helpful, no printed GF menu available. The GF pizzas was good but not your traditional expectation of pizza. And the GF chocolatechip pazookie dessert was DElICIOUS but SUPER rich. I would go back.
Upon returning to Baton Rouge after living in Knoxville for 7 years, I was excited to find a brewhouse with a gluten free menu. After arriving, I was dissapointed that the beer was Redbridge in a bottle...they didn't even offer me a glass with it. The waiter knew absolutely nothing about the gluten free menu options and I had to ask twice for a menu. We waited 30 minutes to get our drinks there and my beer wasn't cold. The gluten free pizza was good, but pricey because I had to pay for each topping separately. After dinner, the waiter brought us our check without asking if we wanted dessert, and we had to wait 15 minutes to find him again and tell him. The pizzookie was RAW and disgusting. I couldn't even eat it. They didn't offer any apologies. He brought us the check again and walked away so we never got the coffee that we wanted. We questioned the waiter about this and all he could say was that it was company policy to bring the check out early to keep the people moving. All in all, we were there for 2 1/2 hours with all the waiting-boy that's really keeping them moving! I NEVER write reviews-EVER but this place was the worst. I will never return there again.
Dessert was awesome! Balsamic chicken without the onion strings - chicken was a tad dry but otherwise yummy. Staff very knowledgeable.
Great the pazooki is awesome
Staff was knowledgeable and we were in there on a slow night. Pizza wasn't the best but the pizzookie was great!!
We ordered gluten free cheese pizza and a bazookie. But the time we got to the car my two youngest(with Celiacs) were throwing up. I worried that it could be a coincidence so I had them take the urine test the next day to see if they had gluten... sure enough they had enough gluten make the test positive which was equivalent to 1/4 of a piece of bread. That is not cross contamination- that is something gluten in the recipe! Sooo sad because we loved BJ’s
I ordered an item that was labeled gf. I told me waiter I had celiac disease, my order was labeled with that and allergy. Was delicious and did not make me sick. Great experience
Ordered off of the gluten free menu and requested a house salad for my side. The backup server brought out the salad with croutons on it, I told her I had requested my meal to be gluten free per having celiacs and she rolled her eyes and walked off and came back about a minute later having given me the same exact salad with the croutons just pulled off. Notified the server assigned to my table that I could not eat the salad because it was brought with croutons and she apologized and brought me a fresh salad almost immediately. The experience left me feeling uneasy about consuming the food, but I was okay this time and did not get sick. I went here again recently and the server of our table didn’t seem to really understand the requests. We kept having issues at the table about food being forgotten or incorrect and with this experience, I feel like the server may have been confused or overly busy which resulted in my food being contaminated and me being sick. All in all, some of the employees are knowledgeable and sympathetic to people whom have celiacs while others treat you as an inconvenience for making them do their job. But this place seems to be a hit or miss. I’ve had great experiences here as well.
Had dinner there tonight. Ordered a burger that was labeled GF on their menu. Asked if the fries are GF. Server said she’d check and if they are do I want them? I said yes. She brought me the burger and fries. Fries were crispy and I thought wow, these are great! Now tonight I’m HORRIBLY SICK. I asked another person I ate dinner with what they thought of the fries and they said they definitely seemed breaded because they were so crispy. DO NOT trust them to even do what they say! She said she’d check if they were GF. CLEARLY, they were not. I’m so so sick now. Very disappointed
Limited item GF items on the menu. Waiter was knowledgeable and friendly and spoke to the chef. My quinoa bowl was yummy. The other dinner option was a chicken/bean dish. Highly sensitive and I didn’t get sick. Bonus for this place was the GF chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream option! We indulged and it was worth every calorie.
Amazing! Order a pizookie, you won’t be disappointed! Also the pizza was wonderful
Lots of options and was ultimately safe for celiac... they did have to remake a salad even after the allergy note but they did actually remake it and were very prompt about it. Didn't try the pizzas which seem ripe for cross-contamination. The gf cookie was great!!
Delicious gluten-free pizza! I had to question if it was gluten free because it was SO good. (It totally was lol.) Plus, they even have a gluten free chocolate chip pizookie, which is a fresh baked cookie with ice cream on top! I’ll definitely be back!
I read there allergy menu and there’s wheat in a lot of their items also soy is in everything but there pizza with no toppings.
Ordered gf pizookie and bbq chicken chopped salad online. On both items i put comment that I have a gluten allergy. For salad, needed them not to include onion strings and asked for that. Both items tested safe with Nima sensor and I didn’t get sick. A couple years ago pretty sure I got sick here, but this time verified safe. Next time maybe I’ll try the pizza.
The gluten-free pizza was very good and I didn't have any problems. Very tasty gluten-free pizookie! I will be back again.
The service was good, the food tasted great, and there were plenty of gluten-free options, even vegetarian ones. Unfortunately, I had to skip the gluten-free pizzookie this time, since I suffer from GERD (in addition to celiac disease) and can't have chocolate, but the vanilla ice cream that I ordered instead was pretty good, too. I made an exception and trusted the reviews that this place is safe for celiacs instead of asking directly, so I can neither confirm nor deny that it is. However, the staff did appear very knowledgeable. My non-celiac lunch company enjoyed his food as well, so I can vouch for this place for people who don't have to eat gluten-free as well.
Oh my goodness, I had a burger topped with bacon and brisket with BBQ sauce and a side of fries. It was phenomenal. Also had chips and guacamole for an appetizer (separate fryer) and ice cream for dessert! No reaction and I’m very sensitive. Definitely feel safe here after ordering so many different items during rush hour on a Saturday night. Will be back.
Knowledgeable staff and awesome food! I’ve ordered a pizza 2x from here and it is the best GF crust/pizza I’ve had - tastes just like the real thing! They also have a very extensive menu. Ask for Shawn, he went above and beyond both times to make sure that every item was truly GF (I ordered a side Cesar salad and though the dressing was marked GF on the menu, he came back to the table immediately after taking our order to let me know he had checked the bottle and it did not appear to be GF after all). The GF Pizookie is made on separate pans than the regular ones and they’re very tasty too! We will be going back.
Staff is very knowledgeable about being gluten friendly. If you notify your server up front, they will select the gluten sensitive option on their pad to let the kitchen know. Even though the selection isn’t that large, the food is quite good. My wife has celiac disease and she loves getting the gluten free pizza and pizzookie for dessert. Good place.
To say they have a gluten free menu might be stretching it. Upon explaining celiacs, I was told they would grab me the menu. I got a flip book allergy disclosure booklet. In it, there's basically pizza & their ice cream. A few items can be modified to be GF, for example their baked potatoes can come without any sauce, so just broccoli on a potato. I ordered the cheese pizza with bacon, tomatoes & mushroom. Tasty but got sick from it.
I have enjoyed this restaurant before knowing I had celiac. The gluten free options were small. They had a chicken breast with a chimichurri sauce which was good, but small, some green beans and I traded out something for a small salad. It tasted good but was still hungry afterward. The waitress did talk to the cook and they made sure to check ingredients, and I wasn't glutened so it went fine.
Their gf pazooki is so good. It’s rare to find gf dessert and I love it. The gf menu isn’t huge but it’s good. About 10 years ago they have me a non-gf flatbread pizza instead of a gf pizza and made me VERY sick but they learned and retrained their staff, so I give them 3 stars. They have never made me sick since but I never order their pizza again, just in case.
