This is the best GF pizza I have ever had! Some of the staff is more knowledgeable than others (managers vs. high school kids). They have 2 different presses for the dough/crust. Just make sure you watch and ask questions and be specific. I have not gotten sick eating there, but have had to ask for separate sauce, spoons, etc. they get 5 stars because it tastes AMAZING!
I have eaten here 2-3 times without getting sick. With much apprehension too. They seem unsure of what is designated gluten free. Once they threw away an entire pizza I ordered because of uncertainty and started over. They do try very hard(change gloves, check labels, etc) just watch them very carefully as they prepare your pizza and constantly remind them you have Celiac.
We ate lunch today and it was delicious. My husband is Celiac. The lady taking our order today told a preparer to change his gloves and he would handle our order. Behind the counter was a knowledgeable worker that was advising the food preparer. They even had a special mat under our pizza to keep it gluten free.
Just checked their website guys-this place is NOT safe for Celiacs. Their menu says they “do not use a separate oven or press” for the gluten free dough. If going gluten free is a dietary choice you’re fine. Otherwise, this is not a safe place to eat for Celiacs.
One of the best Gluten Free pizzas I have had. Relatively low priced as well. When you go, request Gluten free with glove change. Pizza is baked on a mat that doesn’t allow contamination. Staff is very knowledgeable about gluten free, with dedicated cutters and tongs. All pizzas are cooked in the same oven, but with the mat, I have had zero issues. Enjoy!
They do have gluten free options and are aware of CC BUT not that great at following it. I’m very sensitive and I’ve had to have the remake it a few times. You have to watch carefully as they make it. 7/10 times it’s perfectly fine. I’ve definitely gotten sick here before. Not the safest for very sensitive people
Delicious gf crust. I told them I had celiac, and the staff changed their gloves when they made my pizza. They used separate sauce & cheese for my pizza. I’ll definitely come back.
I would probably not opt for this restaurant if you are a celiac. I think that the employees do the best that they know how, but there is still some criss contamination going on. The crust was bought from the back, the staff worker did change his gloves after asking if I needed them to. The sauce came from a separate container that was covered on the bar (looks like only the red sauce was available that way), but they did just get the other toppings from the same containers that their gluten touching gloves dipped into all day. The pizza was cooked on a sheet in the oven, but it is in close proximity to the other pizzas. A big goof, the gentleman cooking the pizzas used the same pizza peel to take my pizza off of the tray as he used on the gluten filled pizzas. A separate cutter was used. Bottom line, this is a gluten filled pizza place that did their best, but I don't think that they are knowledgeable enough there to not contaminate your pizza with gluten. If you are gluten sensitive and don't mind the risk, they have a great tasting pizza.
There were only four people on staff who knew gluten free procedure. I’m not confident about the care of which they train their employees when dealing with celiacs or hypersensitive costumers. The manager treated my order like a chore. Plus, their system is flawed. While glove changes help, when the pizzas are made on the line, there is utensil contamination. I’m disappointed in their lack of thought, since the dough is tasty. Hoping that I don’t get sick.
Great pizza and separate masher for the crust and a separate surface... sometimes need to remind them to use the GF tomato sauce at the end of the line. I’m here once a week with no problems.
Good pizza. They have a gluten free crust available by request and are trained to ask if you require a glove change. They changed gloves and one person was responsible for building my pizza from start to finish. They did put my pizza in the same oven as the others, but off to the side. I had no reactions.
Great pizza! They have gluten free pizza crust and when asked will change their gloves while making. The gluten free crust is cooked on a silicone mat which helps prevent cross contamination, although they sometimes will use the same cutter and sauce spoons! Make sure to watch them and ask if they can use separate ones. They've always been very accommodating! Gluten free crust is one of the better ones around!
The Gluten Free pizza is good. I only tried the Red Vine pizza (see picture) so I can't speak to any others. The price was reasonable and they tried to avoid cross contamination. I have Celiac Disease and didn't have any reaction but I did ask a couple of people to put on fresh gloves and I could see how people might be nervous about cross contamination; it's a Subway/Chipotle style operation. You go down the line and watch as they build your pizza. I ate here twice during my stay because it was good and the price was right.
The staff was amazing! I watch them change their gloves whenever they were fixing my pizza and before cutting my pizza. They are very good at making sure they limit cross contamination.May not be safe for Celiacs because it’s of cross contamination, all pizzas are made right in front together.
Blaze has outstanding gluten free pizza. Fresh GF dough pressed on a separate machine. Staff walks your pizza down the line as you pick sauces (from dedicated bins), cheeses and toppings. Make sure to ask for glove change when you order. Separate tools are used to slice pizzas after they are cooked. Make your own salads available as well.
The gluten free crust is pressed on a mat with a separate press. They’ll change gloves and only use fresh ingredients and new utensils to make your pizza if you ask. Cooked in the same oven but still on the mat then cut with specific gluten free utensils. I watched the whole thing, asked questions, and was very impressed. Plus the pizza actually tasted good!
I’ve eaten their GF Pizza twice with no reaction. I just tell them I am very sensitive and they automatically change their gloves, bake the pizza at the back of the oven, on the left on a special mat, away from the other Pizzas. Delicious!!!!
I’m an employee here and gluten intolerant. We go through procedures to make sure there is as little cross contamination as possible with placing our gluten free pizzas on dedicated mats and thoroughly wipe down our dough pressing equipment before pressing our dough. We also will change our gloves, dedicated red sauce for gluten free dough and we will get completely new ingredients if you request
Watched the pizza crust maker use the same gloves he was using on the regular dough and walk over to the “gluten free crust press” and make some gluten free crusts. He then placed them on the rack underneath the regular crust where the cross contamination is very high
I've had mixed experiences here. If I explained celiac the staff changed gloves, placed barriers when the dough went into the press, used new utensils for sauce, etc. However, this is not the case every time. Would probably not recommend for highly sensitive Celiac as the staffing is unreliable.
Delicious crust but high today of cross contamination. The gf crust is kept separate and is placed on a barrier when cooking in the same oven as the regular pizzas. It's the toppings where contamination is most likely, as even if they change gloves, sauce is doled out from same containers and spread using the utensil that lives in the sauce. Gloves touch and retouch all toppings.
The staff was knowledgeable about gluten & celiac. I have a very serious reaction to gluten and I may have felt a little upset stomach but nothing really crazy. So, this place is okay but there are so many opportunities for cross contamination so it only gets 3 stars for me. If you have a clear conversation about your allergies, you can get employees to change their gloves, fresh (from a different container) toppings, and a separate cutter. Overall okay place. I wouldn’t go back just because of the risks.
