Delicious pizza - loved that they immediately offered to change gloves when I ordered GF crust. Plus they had a separate container for sauce for GF to avoid cross contamination with other sauce and utensils. They also got my toppings from containers under the counter to further avoid cross contamination. Great service!
Very good pizza but definitely cross contamination with regular dough products. Not ideal for those with severe sensitivity.
I was sad when zpizza closed...but then I found this place. I was pleasantly surprised when I ordered a gluten free pizza and saw them take out actual gluten free pizza dough! No shells here! They have a press they use when flattening out the dough, and they cleaned it thoroughly before using it. The staff all changed their gloves when informed of a gluten allergy, used dedicated utensils, and everyone was very knowledgeable about which ingredients and toppings were GF. But best of all, the pizza was SO GOOD. Instead of using one of those conveyor belt ovens like Pie Five or zpizza would use, they use a real oven (flames and all), and you can taste the difference. This might be one of the best GF pizzas I've ever had.
I really enjoyed this place. When ordering the gluten free pizza they asked if I needed them to do a glove change. The pizza was really good! I'll be back for sure! (I do not have celiac and they do stress that there can be some cross contamination for those who are celiac, so be careful depending on your needs).
Awesome gluten free pizza!!!! They have gluten free dough and you can use it to build your own pizza with unlimited toppings for the same price. Gluten free dough costs $3 extra but it is still $10.95 for a good sized personal pizza (too much for a single person to eat all at once.) If you get the "high rise" with extra dough, it becomes the BEST gluten free pizza ever! They use shared oven and toppings but will change gloves. (I am not celiac, but have not been sick.)
They changed gloves while preparing the pizza and again after removing my pizza from oven. They went to the back to get me a separate gf tomato sauce. That have goat parm and vegan cheese and lots of veggies choices. I’ve been here twice and plan to return. They do have a sign advising that cross contamination may occur but I believe they try very hard to stay safe.
The staff were knowledgeable about gluten free but didn’t do much to avoid cross contamination. Using the same utensils.
They were super busy when we came because it was new. As soon as I told them I was a celiac they asked about a glove change. Then a woman not on the regular line stepped in with new gloves and got all my ingredients off a different line. They were really nice and it did not seem to be a big deal to make a GF pizza for me. However, I am not sure if they can really prevent cross contamination.
NOT CELIAC SAFE! Says right on the menu they do not use a separate oven for the gluten free pizzas, if you cook it in the same oven it is 100% cross contaminated. Do not eat here if you have celiac disease, even if you don’t get sick you are still damaging your intestines with the cross-contamination.
The staff was well trained in terms of dealing with a gluten allergy /celiac. They asked me if I would like them to change their gloves, and did so very willingly when I said yes. They took my pizza to a separate location to add the sauce, cheese, and toppings to avoid cross contamination. The pizza was then placed on a silicone (I believe) mat before being put into the oven. It was sliced with a dedicated gluten free pizza slicer. The pizza was absolutely delicious. One of the best I’ve had in a long time! It’s also very cool that you can add as many toppings as you want for the same “build your own” price. I will definitely be going back!!
Love this place. First experienced blaze in Orlando at Disney and it was bitter sweet as I thought I’d never get it again because I don’t live there. I found it here on a weekend trip to the city from out of state, and I’m so happy, we stop here ever time we come to the area. Delicious gluten free crust, fresh toppings, great prices!
One of my favorite go-to’s for GF pizza. Only pizza place that has never made me sick. People commenting about cross contamination on pans or pizza dough presses are wrong. If you tell them you have an allergy, which they are actually prompted to ask after you order GF. They do a glove change. For the GF allergy customers there is a separate pizza dough press, a GF mat the dough goes on before it hits the pan, and ability to get sauce from separate container so no double dipping. Separate pizza slice and everyone down the line is told this is for an allergy. Been over ten times and never once been sick!
I had such high hopes for this place... The first lady was very careful, changing gloves, using sauces in the back... But I couldn't watch the oven or the lady cutting it... Sure enough, cramps, terrible reflux, exhaustion, nausea... Yup, I got glutened. I really don't know what happened, but this has been the worst glutening since I went GF. I mean, the pizza tasted great, but I can't really say they're celiac friendly with how poorly I feel right now.
Not sure how Kim knows that the press isn't cleaned properly... but I have never had an issue (I think it's being cleaned). They have separate classic red sauce container as to avoid cross-contamination. Can have most of the ingredients minus a few obvious ones like the meatballs. Friendly staff and takes the necessary precautions to make me feel safe eating here.
It was pretty good, and I only had mild allergic reaction. I do not think this place is safe for those with strong allergic reactions. I was nervous the entire time they were making it, but they pulled through. I think it’s cooked with all the other pies and that’s why there is some cross contamination.
Great pizza, okay price. Being that there aren’t very many good choices for GF pizza - it’s worth spending the money. Before they prepare food they ask if GF is an allergy or choice so they can take proper measures to protect your pizza. It’s definitely the best GF pizza I’ve had, by leaps and bounds.
Got very sick. Used same cheese as others.
GF crust was great. Interesting to hear different comments. My crust was crispy and the best I’ve had. Closest to real deal. They asked if they needed to use gloves. I don’t have celiac so I’m not as strict with contamination. Didn’t pay attention to other utensils, containers etc.
Good gf pizza if you are not celiac. They change gloves, use a mat to cook the pizza, and have separate pizza cutters, but they use the same containers and utensils for prep and their website states the crust is not prepared in a gluten free environment.
I normally give only positive reviews, and I had high hopes for my visit. This location does offer a gluten free pizza crust but their setup does not allow for safe preparation. The Subway-style assembly line means everything is cross contaminated, the staff is severely undertrained in the area of food allergies, and the way they stack the unbaked pizzas (on top of each other) means wheat flour can (and does) fall on top of gluten free crusts. I admit, I should have gone with my gut when I finally made it to the front of the line, but I was very hungry and it clouded my thinking. I was “glutened” —that is to say, I was sick after eating here. This would be a fine place for non-Celiacs and/or non-food allergic individuals, but if you live with either (for your own safety), stay away.
I will never forget the day I got glutened from this blaze location. I was crying from the pain for three hours, unable to move. NOT SAFE. They do not take as many precautions as they claim.
They do have a gluten-free pizza crust but the machine that they press the dough with is also used with regular dough that is not gluten free and it is not clean properly therefore it is contaminated.
This may be the best gluten free pizza I’ve ever eaten! The staff is very knowledgeable and took every precaution with our food. They changed gloves and used separate utensils. The pizza is cooked so it shouldn’t touch any other items. The pizza crust is fantastic and all the ingredients are fresh. The drink options are also great with pure cane sugar sodas and fresh juices. Great place!!
Great food! The staff is awesome but their process needs improvement if they hope to be celiac friendly. They will do a glove change if asked, but the contamination issue comes with the plating process. At this point they do not change their gloves even if the pizza is marked as glove change needed. If you want to keep it celiac friendly make sure you give their plater a heads up or they wont pay attention.
Decent price great taste, fun to build. But...they do not understand gluten free at all. I watched a guy scrape sauce off gluten dough back into the container then try to put that on my pizza. If they could trainee gluten free awareness and procedure better they would be awesome....and add desert pizzas that can be built on the gluten free dough.
The staff is amazing! They have a dedicated area for the gluten free dough, they use dedicated silicone pads in the oven and on the line, and they have separate condiments and utensils all to prevent cross contamination! They’re fantastic and I have not gotten sick there even once!
Ask for gf allergy, ask for what you want and watch carefully. You will get a pain free, reaction free, yummy pizza. This is one of the few places I can eat safely since moving to the area. One of the ladies who works here is celiac. Great experience!
Cross contamination here. they changed gloves, but then handed off to someone else to finish. Used all of the same containers including the sauce and spoon which swirled all over the gluten crust. Would definitely not recommend for someone with celiac. But since it's made right in front of you, you know what you're getting into!!
Staff was reasonably knowledgeable & very accommodating. They immediately changed gloves and even remade the pizza when they accidentally used ingredients and cheese from the front (they could be contaminated by previous employees, so best to get toppings from a fresh container). Overall — great service, Delicious, & my daughter did not get sick(celiac)! Highly recommend!!
NOT a safe place for those with celiac, in my opinion. They will change their gloves for those with celiac. They press their dough (both GF and regular) on the same dough press machines, without cleaning between. Their toppings are GF, but they use the same toppings for those with celiac or not, so after handling regular dough, the put their hands in the cheese, meats, veggies, etc. They do use a sauce from the end of their line that has a cover over it instead of the open sauce on the line. They bake their pizzas in the same brick oven directly on the surface regular pizzas sit on. They remove the pizzas with same paddles as regular pizzas. They place all pizzas (GF and reg) on racks after removing them from oven while they wait for cutting. Pizzas were overlapping and crowded, plus crumbs were all over. They cut the GF pizza with the same cutter as the regular pizzas. They were very friendly, but unfortunately, I do not feel they offer a celiac safe pizza.
Great Pizza, caring and knowledgeable staff. I have eaten here several times. They do have Gluten free dough and actually ask you if you want gluten free "just because" or due to an allergy. If an allergy , they will change gloves, and use all separate tools for handling, cutting and even put it in a separate part of the oven - with something under it so it doesn't even touch the oven... but is still made and cooked in under 5 minutes. They also offer a gluten free sauce, even vegen cheese and several toppings that are gluten free and even dairy free. They also offer a nutrition list on their web site so you can see for yourself. They do offer desserts, but I am not sure if they are gluten free, but know they are not dairy free so I didn't ask any further. I know there are some things that are not gluten free, but if you ask you will be fine and likely go back again. They also seem to get new staff a lot but always make sure that a knowledgeable staff member is with someone new. I have eaten there several times and never had a problem. Tonight they actually by accident gave me the wrong pizza. There were two people with the same name, and both of us had ordered gluten free pizzas. When I got home and saw it was not my pizza, I went back. They gave me my original pizza and made a fresh new and hot one for me free. Of course they apologized several times. That is what customer service should be. On top of everything, the price is very reasonable although there is a $2 up charge for a, gluten free crust.
I had a terrible experience here. The staff were not upfront or knowledgeable. My first server said everything on the menu was gluten free and then he changed his mind and listed several items that are not gluten free. My second server then proceeded to put blue cheese on my pizza. I was nervous about cross contamination the whole time because there are croutons in the salad on the bar. The staff seemed really sloppy in their use of all ingredients.
I told the staff I needed a gluten free pizza for an allergy. She changed her gloves and wiped down the crust machine but it didn’t look like she used anything but a paper towel to wipe it down. She then used the regular container of oil to stop the crust from sticking. She did get pizza sauce from a separate location and it looked like the crust was cooked on top of something to prevent it from touching the oven. I do not think enough precautions were taken and I felt it not to long after eating.
I am on a low FODMAP diet and I can eat a real meal there! It’s great. I usually get their $5 Half pizza with gluten free crust, mozzarella cheese, bell peppers, turkey meatball, grilled chicken, and spinach! The crust is very finicky and sometimes it takes them a minute to prepare it but it’s delicious
They have a gluten free crust. It tastes super good and would be great for someone who isn’t super sensitive or isn’t celiac. They do change gloves but it’s all from the same line. I was concerned as I watched my pizza go down the line but ate it anyway and now I’m sick.
Blaze Pizza can accommodate gluten-free dietary needs. The dough is kept on a red/Black mat throughout the process. There is a dedicated gluten-free marinara sauce and pizza cutter. All of the meats and cheeses are gluten free except for the meatballs. There is also a dedicated gluten-free pizza cutter. Can’t beat $11 for unlimited toppings. Their lemonade is also fantastic. There have been times though where I have to monitor the entire process to ensure there is no cross-contamination.
