Just about everything on the menu is gluten-free or can be made gluten-free. The owner's wife has celiac disease so he took the gluten-free diet into consideration when deciding on the menu. I had the nachos. They have a dedicated fryer for chips and fries. Staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. Great experience.
This was a great dining experience. We would have given a 5⭐ except the Italian beef was extremely overcooked/dry. It was tasty though, giardinara (sp??) and the pulled pork sandwich were excellent as was the coleslaw. The loaded fries were novel with very tender pulled pork and choice of cheese topping. Fries were superb. Perfectly crispy fried. We’ll put on the do again list when we are traveling by.
I love this place 9/10 but once they brought my sandwich out on a regular bun and I kept asking if it was GF and they said yes multiple times. I asked to see the regular bun and they brought out the one they had given me.. I just ran out crying and started gagging myself to throw up in the parking lot because I took a bite after they assured me it was safe. They refunded our whole order but it was very traumatic so please ask to see the real bun before you bite it if youre having doubts!
The chicken tenders were delicious. Great flavor, the batter was like fried chicken. Husband had the brisket and said it was phenomenal. Fries were undercooked but I imagine would also be good if they were cooked properly. Dedicated fryer.
As others have said, it’s more of a bar vibe in the sense that it is very loud. The service wasn’t super great but worth it for the food.
Best BBQ I’ve had, maybe ever. And we’ve done a family bbq trip to Memphis at one point. Waitress knew her stuff, kitchen checked some other allergens for me. I will drive out of my way to go here! Highly recommend!!!
The food is always delicious! You’ll definitely want to get the chicken tenders with sweet peach sauce. Carry-out is better than dine-in. It’s essentially a bar with really good food. It’s loud, cold, the service is usually slow and the tables are uncomfortable. ALWAYS ask for your gluten free bun on the side, otherwise they will get soggy and fall apart.
Food was decent but not great. Felt like a bar with smoked food instead of a restaurant with a bar. Most things can be made GF. Our waitress said that the owner’s wife has celiac so they take it very seriously. She knew exactly what could be made GF and what couldn’t. Really just the egg rolls, Mac n’ cheese, corn bread and a few sauces that aren’t gluten free. Separate GF fryer.
Almost every waiter I’ve encountered is knowledgeable and helpful when making menu selections. Only two sauces or so are not gluten free and having amazing nachos and chicken tenders has been great. Only one waiter brought back my food on the wrong bun once, but when I asked she corrected herself and brought a whole new dish (no worries about reusing contaminated food). Overall, I love this place and recommend it—but don’t be afraid to double check!
I trusted the good reviews and told the waitress I am very sensitive and she assured me they know about cc. I ordered the fries because she assured me it was a dedicated fryer and a turkey sandwich on a gluten free bun. The waitress wasn't sure if the pretzel bun was gluten or not. That should have stopped me from ordering. But I trusted the other good reviews. Well, just as I was finishing my sandwich, I got ataxia and brain fog which is always my first clue. Then about 15 minutes later, the rest of my symptoms began. So much for my fun trip to visit my cousin! I don't know if I just had a bad waitress or what, but I will not be eating here again.
This place is FANTASTIC. I had the chicken tenders, fries and corn on the cob. I also tried my wife’s smoked sausage, which was great as well.
Gluten free items were marked on the menu. I ordered some pulled pork and brisket. Pork wasn’t pulled or shredded much though. Would rate the food average.
Weirdly, I got (unusually) super tired within an hour of eating so I’m not exactly sure what triggered that, but it was unusual for me.
We ate here on a trip through town. We let the owner and wait staff know our daughter has Celiac and they made sure everything was safe and ready for her. She could choose from all but three menu items and everyone was very knowledgeable and kind about all of the cross contamination procedures needed to keep her safe. We will be back for sure.
