My friend is one of the managers here and he has told me all the steps they take to ensure there is no cross contamination. They offer salads, entree & pasta dishes. I had pasta brio and a Caesar salad for dinner. We started with a caprese salad app & finished with gelato for dessert. I wasn’t even slightly sick afterwards.

My daughter Ordered a salad with no Croutons and informed the waiter she is celiac. Waiter understood her condition, but didn’t write the order down. Salad came out with croutons. The waiter had the salad remade and my daughter believes they used the same chicken that was on the first salad. She has been sick the last few days after eating at Brio.

The food was outstanding but the service was a joke. We had Miranda and she came super infrequently, couldn’t answer any questions- I had to get the host to ask the kitchen questions that I had....but they have GF pasta and it’s delicious.

Maybe it’s due to COVID-19 that they had 90% of the gluten free menu crossed out...so I had a grand total of 4 options for food on the entire menu. I got the pasta brio and it wasn’t bad but wasn’t great. The waiter was awful though. Took forever to get to order and on top of that he kept looking around in a panic even though they weren’t very busy at all? 😂

They served me gluten pasta after I had a thorough discussion about a previous experience at Brio in another state. Proceed with caution and be aware the only GF pasta there is fusilli.
I was originally supposed to go to Cheesecake Factory with friends for dinner, but the wait was 2.5 hours long, so we walked around and found this great place. I was so surprised at the plethora of options! From what I saw, they have special menus on request specifically for GF, vegan, vegetarian, and I think dairy free. They had starters, salads, a soup, 5-6 pasta options, steak, fish, and two desserts. I ordered the house salad plus carbonara with chicken added and loved it! I also highly recommend the peach bellini and peach sangria. Expect to pay around 14 (just pasta) to 40 (salad, pasta, and alcohol) a person for dinner.
I loved brio before I got celiacs and decided it was probably not an option anymore as restaurants aren’t usually good with cooking pasta separately, but, after I started working here I realized it is probably the safest Italian place to eat! They have an EXPANSIVE gluten free menu and almost all their pasta sauces are naturally gluten free (even cream sauces) and can be added even if not on the g free menu. They also cook the gluten free pasta separately and prepare your meal in a separate area of the kitchen. The managers are very knowledgeable and willing to help! I have had it a few times now and have not gotten sick.
I went to Brio for dinner last night. They provided me with a gluten free menu which I was excited about. I finally received my meal, took a bite and the manger came running over in a panic saying you were supposed to have GF right? Don’t eat that.... kinda to late I already had a bite. I was appreciative the manager came running over when they realized but I was disappointed the waiter was not trained properly on food allergies to the point where he ignored that I said Gluten free like 4 times when ordering, I even verified when the food came to the table... I’m really disappointed and will probably not go here again because of it.
The bartender was very knowledgeable and helpful to me with both food and drinks. For the martini that I wanted, she even gave me all of the bottles that contained the ingredients for the drink so I could read them. The food was delicious as well.
I had their gluten free pesto pasta and it was delicious. I had no reaction. The only thing was it was pretty overcooked. They have a gluten free menu and staff had good knowledge about it.
Lots of choices on the gluten free menu. I ordered Pasta Brio and my server went to talk to the chef to ensure no risk of cross contamination. They told me I was good to go, ate over an hour ago and I feel fine! Food was delicious!!
I have been off of gluten for 8 years and only been glutened severely twice. This place was one of the two times. I got chicken with potatoes and vegetables and somehow had an allergic reaction. Avoid this place at all costs
My 8 year old Celiac son got sick from eating here. We explained to the waiter multiple times how important it was to make his food safe but he still got sick. Will never eat here again.
They had many options including salads, gluten free pasta, steak, chicken and lamb chops. No gluten free bread so I sat watching my husband eat the delicious hot bread. There’s also no gluten free dessert but, with Cheesecake Factory right there, I didn’t care. The waitress got kinda pissed when I said it but they had fresh fruit for dessert at Brio. No thank you.
Very nice restraunt. Gluten free options are well defined and plenty. Food tastes amazing still!
The gf menu is more than than adequate with options. Pastas are excellent. I had pasta with criminology mushrooms, grilled chicken and a roasted red pepper sauce. Exceptional.
In the past, a manager told me the chef changes gloves and aprons before preparing a gf meal. I also stress to the wait staff, that I have Celiac Disease and require a gf meal.
They do offer a separate gluten free menu with a variety of options. I had a delicious gf pasta, with chicken and red pepper sauce this evening. I also ordered a tasty salad with a light dressing that was served cold and fresh!
We have dined here a few times a year while visiting Austin. Never any issues with my meals. They have offered a separate gf menu for years.
We have moved back to Austin and will continue to dine at Brio’s.
We had dinner here last night. They have a gluten free menu. At first, we were concerned at the server’s casual attitude. However, my gluten free pasta and wedge salad were fantastic. Then, our server brought us a Creme Brulee (the only gf dessert on the menu) on the house. I felt fine after and today as well. Highly recommend Brio.
Great gluten free dining experience! I loved eating here! Ate here twice so far. They have a gluten free menu. The first time I tried the gluten free pasta. The pasta had a great consistency and the sauce was very flavorful and delicious. The second visit I had the grilled salmon salad. The salmon was grilled on a wood smoke grill which gave it a wonderful flavor and it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The salad was the freshest salad I have had at a restaurant in ages. The balsamic dressing was perfect with the salad and I enjoyed my meal so much. I was with two other people, one ordered angel hair pasta with chicken and raved about how flavorful it was. The other had the regular version of the salmon salad (which came with some crispy cracker-like strips so be sure to order the gluten free version if you get the salad) and she loved it also. I want to mention the ambiance. It was bright, roomy, relaxing and nicely decorated. It reminded me of being at a Disney resort (which is a great thing for me). I will definitely be going back soon! They have one gluten free dessert, Creme Brûlée, which was very creamy and delicious.
The menu was small but sufficient. I can not eat sea food, taking at least half of the menu out, so the choices were limited. I wasn't that impressed for the cost. But, I didn't get sick, which is always great. My meal arrived correctly, without issues (on a busy Saturday evening) and my waiter knew exactly what to expect with my questions.
While Brio has. GF menu, they seem not to understand the concept. I was there on a not-so-busy Wednesday night. I asked for the GF menu and explained to the waiter I was celiac. I asked if there was a separate prep area and if gloves were changed. He looked at me as if I was speaking Klingon. He had no idea. And his reassurance of "If I mark it gluten free, it'll be fine" was really not assuring. Once my salmon salad came out, it had fried potato strings on it. I asked if those were prepared in a GF fryer and they were not. So, I had to wait another 25 minutes for my salad. Luckily, I did not get sick, but I have no confidence in this restaurant.
They have a GF menu with GF options (salads, chicken, steak, fish, pasta). The pasta dishes are just ok and very pricey for what you get ($19). There wasn't much chicken in either of our pastas, and the sauces were excessively salty. The waiter was simply mediocre, rushing us through our meal. It's nice to have this option, but it's expensive chain restaurant food. Disappointing.
Gf options but I have a secondary food allergy that was also acknowledged by the server and then ignored by the kitchen - the item showed up on my plate. Manager and server were very apologetic and remade the dish but imo if one allergy warning is missed it may not be safe to order expecting gf here either.
