Excellent meal with great service and a white chocolate peppermint cheesecake to die for. First time in 9 months I felt like I was eating normally

SUCH a great experience here! The waitress was knowledgeable, they had a comprehensive GF menu, and even had options for dairy free as well, which I needed. The fish and chips were incredible! NOTE: I’m silent celiac so I don’t have symptoms if glutened

On 4/2/22 I had the fish and chips from the gluten free menu, which came with cole slaw and tartar sauce. Two hours later I had a full-on glutening, not a cross-contamination level but "actually ate gluten" level. We had told the server I had celiac, and specifically ordered off the gluten free menu.

Biggest Gluten free menu I’ve ever seen. I actually struggled to decide what to get. Staff was knowledgeable and took allergy seriously. Very pleased will be visiting again.

Aug 4, 2021. I always say that the best GF meals are the ones where I can order almost anything off the menu and it taste well without me getting sick. The Cap City Fine Diner is one of those places. I've eaten at this chain before,, but never a this location.. The experience was just as great as the other locations.. Fantastic gluten-free meal. I ordered the beer battered (Red Bridge GF beer) fish and chips from a GF frier. Meal was absolutely great. Wow.

They straight up know what they’re doing here. Can be a little pricey but I feel incredibly comfortable eating here

We are just driving through and stopped here to grab take-out for dinner. My non-celiac husband had the gluten free pork meal and I, who is celiac, had the balsamic chicken. We also had the strawberry basil lemonades and the gluten free dessert, be which was creme brulee with strawberries and whipped cream. The food was excellent and flavorful. Unfortunately, later that night we both had a lot of gas and were uncomfortable. It was not a gluten issue since my husband doesn't have any issues with gluten, but something else. Will likely give them a second try if coming back through town in the future.
Yes
Separate gluten free menu with a great variety of food. Also had a couple of gluten free beers listed. Food comes out with an allergy marker and there are gluten free rolls. My balsamic chicken was very good and I definitely want to try the fish and chips in the future
Yes
Gluten free menu and dedicated fryer. Server was knowledgeable about dairy free options as well. Food served with an allergy flag to verify it was prepared as requested.
Great food, great service, great drinks! I had the gluten free fish and chips and it was amazing! It wasn’t on their current gluten free menu but I asked the server about it and she said they always have it. I was in heaven. They also brought some delicious gluten free rolls with a sweet sauce before the meal. I got a Bloody Mary with their homemade mix and they double checked the recipe for me to be sure it was gluten free. Left feeling great and satisfied! Will definitely go back next time I’m in Columbus!
Yes
Got “glutened”on both visits to this location. Haven’t had trouble at other Cameron Mitchell restaurants though.
It was nice to be offered a gluten free roll, but it was not good. The texture was dry and the taste was bland. I then ordered the BLT. The bacon was wonderful, but the bread (different type of bread than the roll) was dry and not very appetizing. I would not order the BLT again for that reason. The tomato was quite thin too. I tried Cap City based on the great reviews, but I can't say I was impressed. I have paid less at other places and have had better gf food.
The wait staff was amazing. Gf rolls, appatizers, main dishes, and dessert. The fish and chips were good!
The gluten free menu was impressive and everything was delicious. What a treat to have warm gluten free rolls with our gluten free meal.
We have eaten at Cap City Diner four times (coming from out of town). Two of our experiences have been great; two have been awful. This most recent time we went at lunch and were seated at the diner window where we could look into the kitchen. The waitress did a great job checking my allergies and Celiac considerations. I ordered a piece of fish, some plain rice, and sautéed peppers.
They told me they would custom cook my meal just for me.
As I got half way through my meal I found a two inch section of noodle. Absolutely baffling. There was NO noodle in my dish or any way that should have happened — and it was buried IN my food. The manager was apologetic and we left without paying for our dinner... but I definitely paid for my meal in other ways.
I wish I could recommend Cap City Diner, But 50% of our experiences have ended badly. If you have serious allergies/Celiac, eat at your own risk.

The food was excellent all around. The gluten free roll with BLT was to die for. Waitress was very friendly also.
They have a separate gf and our server was very knowledgable. He let the kitchen know it was for a celiac and brought my daughter a basket of gf rolls. She had philly cheesesteak and fries, loved it, and was fine after.
Yes
Staff knew all things GF and it was delicious!
Went three times in April, no problem; went last night, sick as a dog after... I always tell restaurants it's an "allergy" and not a preference because people take it more seriously and rarely understand celiacs and cross-contamination issues.... that obviously failed me this time

Decent variety, good food, GF bread available.
Yes
I got the apple spinach salad and it was delicious! The waiter also offered me a gluten free roll, which was great! They have a gluten free menu and the staff is knowledgeable about needs for patrons with celiac disease.

Great food, knowledgeable staff. Ask for the gluten free cinnamon buns, you can thank me later!

Been here dozens of times. My celiac go to. Not many places I feel safe eating, this is one of them. The staff is aware of CC and there's dedicated kitchen space. My celiac cousin, father and I are always here.
I'm still trying to find another place I can eat at with consistency and not get sick.

Delicious! Wonderful staff and atmosphere. Large selection on gf menu

Awesome brunch and cinnamon roll!
We loved it! GF menu can be viewed online prior. Had a great variety! The boys loved being able to get fries and wings! (Dedicated fryer). The bread was a little dry but... They have it! It's a great option. They brought cinnamon rolls and even provided a GF version! We will be back!

Although they have an extensive gluten free menu, this is not a celiac friendly restaurant. I had a spinach salad with chicken, a cup of soup and creme brûlée and I was unfortunately cross-contaminated after eating there. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant for those with celiac.
No
I chose this restaurant because I have celiac disease and saw it had an extensive gluten free menu. I ordered the pecan crusted pork chops with spinach, but the spinach had clearly been sauteed in a pan that had been used to fry noodles without being washed between use, because there were small pieces of noodle in the spinach. Please be aware this restaurant's staff are not properly trained on allergy cross-contamination. I will not be eating here ever again.
No
Great selection of gf items. I had the Philly cheesesteak - bun was a little soggy but sandwhich and fries were very good. Unique seasoning on the fries and a nice crisp fry
I love this place. Fair amount of options on the gf menu and gluten free buns. They'll even bring you gf cinnamon buns.
Traveling is always difficult with gluten issues. This was a great find in every way. The food was excellent with a huge variety of things on the GF menu. Our server was delightful and we were seated and served promptly!
Yes
The menu is comparatively huge for gluten free and my server was very knowledgable and helpful. The food was very good!
Safe haven for a weary celiac traveler! And the food was excellent!
Yes
Large gluten free menu and separate frier for the french fries. Great staff who pay attention to allergy issues. I mentioned that I was allergic to dairy as well as gluten. The kitchen staff checked the bakery website to confirm the gluten free bun was also milk free and even brought out an ingredients list for the bun for me to see. Great food. I would definitely eat here again.

Had the pecan crusted pork chop dinner... Was enough for at least 2 to share but, absolutely best pork chop ever!!!!
Amazing. Cool atmosphere. Waitress was great. HUGE GF menu. Biggest I've seen in my gluten free dining.
Had a cheeseburger with fries and creme brûlée for dessert. Only wish I lived in Columbus so I could eat here more often.
My favorite haunt for celiac lunch or dinner. Gf menu. Try the fish n chips! Dedicated fryer.
Great food. Great Service. Always a favorite.
This restaurant made me feel so included. I went for a work dinner and normally I feel weird asking for gluten free options, but since they had a separate menu and even gave me my own gluten free appetizer rolls it was perfect! They had the appetizer marked with a toothpick that it was made with my allergy in mind and even had an AMAZING gluten free desert!

Separate gf menu and has enough options. They bring out gf rolls which are warm and good. Sandwiches come with a gf bun. Fries are gf. My son got the Rueben sandwich which came out marked allergy and it tasted great. He has celiac. They did offer a gf chocolate cake but he didn’t get it.

SO GOOD!! You must go if you are in the Columbus area. Very nice place, has gluten free menu, and waiter asked if it was an allergy. They have gluten free breakfast rolls (tasted like a cinnamon bun!). I ordered the 4 egg omelet and it was delicious. The potato’s were also the best potato’s I have ever had. Food was also marked with allergy.
