Great experience here. The chef came out to speak to me, as I have many allergies, and try to avoid onion. (yes, a challenge when going out for Indian!) He was very knowledgeable and could give me options in addition to the info laid out on the menu. Very good service and fantastic food!

Some items share the fryer so we avoid fried food. Everything is delicious, we like tikka masala, korma and more. Menu is easy to figure out and the gluten containing items are marked with a pink square and they have a key to allergies.

Incredible food! I am always so happy to find gluten free pakoras as that is how they should be made. The service wasn’t great but we think we got a brand new server. Also, I wouldn’t say my ‘mild’ spiced Paneer Makhani was mild. My companion said theirs was spiced perfectly though. Otherwise, highly recommend!!!!

Cardamom was introduced to us by a friend who was a transfer student from India. He said it was the best Indian food in the area, and he's right!
I've never gotten sick from the food, and it's always flavorful and aromatic. I like to add CELIAC to my name when placing online orders as it is difficult to get through on the phone.

I’ve been eating here ~once a month for years and have never had a reaction before. The curries are usually safe and most of the wait staff are knowledgeable about cross contamination (e.g. vegetable pakora are cooked in a shared frier). Delicious and I feel very safe eating here.
Yes
Be careful when ordering because some items share a fryer. Our server was knowledgable and let me know that something gf that I ordered actually would be cross contaminated and to avoid that. The curry was excellent flavor, definitely go with medium, even if you’re sensitive with spice like I am. We’ll be back!

The food was delicious and I did not get sick, but I did run into some issues. Even after a detailed conversation with my waitress about how they cook everything and ordering a dish labeled gluten-free on their menu, my meal came with fried onions on top (their fryer isn't safe) - when I confirmed with the person who dropped my food off that it was gluten-free he was horrified and said absolutely not (the onions are also coated in flour). My waitress told me that they would never consider just removing the topping and giving it back to me, and that the kitchen was very understanding, so I I felt reassured enough that this was a communication issue not a kitchen issue. Just be cautious and extra clear if you do decide to eat here.
I've eaten here a few times, and the staff I initially seemed knowledgeable about cross contamination and seemed to understand Celiac Disease. I should have been worried the last time I went when the manager asked just how serious my reaction would be. Ended up getting horribly ill about 30 minutes after eating, which is classic me when glutened. I don't think I'll be back.
This place is so busy and popular! It's delicious! Many gluten free options! Very yummy!

I think the food tastes delicious but it is NOT celiac friendly.

Pre-diagnosis, I loved Cardamom. The food was delicious enough to be worth the absurdly long wait times and slow service. I'd hoped that because they are so allergen friendly that I might be safe there. I ordered one of their vegan gluten free curries, and I warned them that I have celiac disease and would appreciate any extra precautions they could take. Unfortunately, within a couple of hours, it was clear that I'd gotten some gluten in my meal. Great food, but if you're sensitive to cross contamination it's a risk.

The owners son has a variety of food allergies, so the menu is all gluten free unless noted other wise. Very yummy!
Lots of gluten free options. The food itself is delicious. Service is satisfactory. Good atmosphere. Not a whole lot of seating so waiting is common around peak times. Easily a top 5 restaurant in Ann Arbor.

The BEST Indian in Ann Arbor hands down!! I LOVE that the owners have the top allergens clearly marked on the menu. It make ordering sooooo much easier! Tasty food, easy ordering, friendly folks- 5 stars!
I would not categorize it under "Authentic Indian Cusine". I am an Indian and went in a big group to try this new Indian Resturant. We ordered a varitey of food and were pleased with only "Malai-Kofta" and Chiken Momos, the chutney was bad.
They served veg-momos stuffed with potatoes.. seriously I have never heard or seen momos stuffed with potatoes that goes into Samosas..they tasted horrible, the chutney was far from what is actually served with momos. It was nothing like what was described on the website/Menu.
We ordered Bengali Fish Curry, which was no ways cooked in Bengali style. The Chef should know that Bengali fish curry is cooked in Mustrad gravy, and not in tomatoes, it was pathetic.
Then the Paneer-tikka.. it was the worse I have ever had. Hard, bland and as claimed by the owner- Paneer was definitely not "Fresh and/or home-made"... it was hard and stale.
Chicken Biryani had flavor but little chicken and not appealing by looks. We were not happy with what we ordered... This place is not worth all the $$ spent.
