Just met the owner and the operator of Charlie Hong Kong. Asked them if it is safe for Celiac. They said they had a special pan made with a divider in the middle so they can do gf on one side and gluten on the other. 😂 Then she asked how sensitive I was and suggested that I should just come try it. Asked if my tongue swelled up. Then the guy who runs the place interjected by saying, “You know why people don’t take Celiac seriously? Because it’s a silly act.” 🤯😡 I used to eat here all the time before diagnosis, now I will never eat here.
Got sick here. I let the cashier know I had a gluten allergy and ordered a dish naturally gluten free, but something went wrong. I ordered the pad thai with rice noodles and added hoisin sauce (I asked and they said it was gf, but I didn’t see the bottle so maybe this was the issue?)

Organic and fresh Chinese style restaurant with gluten free options.
I love this place!!! I ask for GF noodles or rice (rice is probably the most celiac safe option). I get the spicy dans peanut delight and I have never had a problem. I tell them to mark my order with a gluten allergy and I feel very comfortable eating here.

Not safe for Celiac's. They used to say that nothing was gf excpet one thing that didn't have soy sauce. They said that their soy sauce is not gf. This was years ago. They just stopped sharing it.
No
It’s just not gluten free. I’ve found wheat noodles in my bowl several times. And hair in my spring rolls twice. What’s all that about?
No
Yum!! They offer rice and/or rice noodles. Delish fast casual Asian fusion, including three kinds of curry.
Unsure if it rates celiac friendly but they do have eggless wheat noodles all over the menu.
Not celiac friendly. I found a wheat noodle in my rice noodles twice :-/
Not safe for celiacs. They say they don't use gluten in any of their sauces, but they must not clean their pans in between uses. My "always gluten free" pad thai had a wheat noodle in it. I showed the server so that the kitchen could know for future reference, and she asked me if I wanted to finish my food.

In the last 9 mos - year they started making all their own sauces. Almost everything on the menu is gf and if it's not it can be prepared gf. This is a great, fast option with lots of tasty veggie choices.
they use a homemade soy sauce that they say is gluten free. We had no reactions here
My review from a year or so ago disappeared so here it is again:
This place is not as glutenfree as they claim. They use normal soy sauce with wheat as an ingredient and try to trick you with that "10ppm" BS. They told me its less than FDA allowable gluten but there aren't even any FDA standards (yet). It took way too many questions to figure out why they kept saying "no detectable gluten" when I was asking about the soy sauce. (they also would not show me the package or ingredients list.)
We were visiting from out of town, and I was starving, so we stayed anyway. They do have some menu items that are made without soy sauce and vegan, and we ended up having a safe (if mediocre) meal. The portions are huge and could be shared.
The cashier we had was very helpful and patient and understood my concerns. But the help she was getting from another employee was frustrating and I caught that employee giving an "oh well, who cares?" shrug and smirk to our cashier when the cashier was doubting her suggestions for us. It made me feel unsafe. (this was in regards to a side dish we ordered, so I just opted not to eat that when it arrived.)
This place should be using wheat-free soy sauce if they're going to actually be glutenfree.
No
They say they use Tamari sauce but there are no bottles around they can show you. I am not overly sensitive but have eaten here a couple of times and tried a couple different things and not felt great after.
Not celiac friendly! They use regular soy sauce!
No
Tried it once and didnt feel great afterwards. I really wish they would switch to a truly GF soy sauce. Really makes me question their menu when they can't quite understand that the FDA 20 ppm thing doesn't work for a lot of celiacs. They could at least have GF soy sauce as an option...
Yes
