I have never been sick here but do be extremely careful because there seems to be so many ways to get CCed here. A huge issue for me is that managers don’t bring out the GF plates so it’s up to the individual server and their knowledge, even if you carefully alert them. There are other small issues that make me feel unsafe. Like when I ask if the GF cheesecake can be sliced separately and get an attitude. The attitude that I’ve gotten from a few servers is what makes me nervous (some have been very helpful though). Even though I haven’t been sick it is never my first, second choice or even third choice to go here. Oh one more thing! And I know you all know this but never assume something is GF. For example, they cook their edamame in the pasta water!
The Cheesecake Factory has an extensive gluten free menu. Gluten free options include pasta, burgers (with buns), and cheesecake for dessert.
Update- came back and felt fairly safe after my first visit (review below) but this time ended up sick within half hour. Positive it was the food. Waitress asked ME what kind of dressing I could have. I guess she didn’t check the ingredients. I’m also dairy free and I said no cheese but maybe they put butter on the gf roll. But I checked online at their allergen menu and the dressing she gave me had gluten. I didn’t think to check online beforehand. Won’t be returning. Also said fries weren’t safe but said they were the last time I was there. Doesn’t sound like they really know.
With such a huge menu it’s hard to imagine prep is free of cross contamination. I got a burger on an udis roll. My waitress assured me that their fryer for French fries is gluten free because nothing aside from regular and sweet potato fries go in there. I don’t know if it’s safe for celiac but I’m ok today. They have clearly marked items on menu.
Recently learned from a great server that the GF fryer and regular fryer are right next to each other. The server cautioned us that he would bet that food gets in there and CC, especially their tempura batter. Glad that he explained it as I got sick last time I had the fries. Makes sense!
Yesterday went to the cheesecake factory i wasnt impressed as usual what i found strange is i oulked up there menu looked at a appetizer which stated 1 price but when in questioned the waitress told me the website was updated.in response i said to her why is the menu here stating a different price she didnt have a plausible answer anf basically walked away. They're over priced and food is not that GREAT!!!!!! Beautiful place for
show. Ive been to more down home gems gotten waaaaaay better food and service. Will not be returning anytime soon. People Rah!Rah! About this place why I dont know. Also they change the menu to much its like 6 different Resturants in one place basically a bufffet. LOL LOL can get that anywhere. The resturant is a joke
I loved the GF Menu in Cheese Cake Factory. Server was great and I had no problems with the food I ate. I will keep coming to this restaurant in Frisco TX.
I really hate it when someone has one bad experience (usually with a server, not the restaurant) and leaves a terrible review. The thing is, if you're celiac, it's going to be hard to trust ANYONE. And in my opinion, any efforts by a restaurant to move toward gluten-free should be celebrated. There are a ton of us (myself included) that are very sensitive, but not to the point of celiac. And for me, I really appreciate these restaurants adding items I can eat. And many of them end up taking them away because of the complaints about their one or two bad experiences. This isn't how to go about having your issues understood. Offer suggestions, not complaints, and in a friendly manner.
I loved the gfree options at Cheesecake Factory and had no issues.
We tried to order and eat from the Cheesecake Factory gf menu options, but first the burger came out on a regular bun, then an hour later a second attempt came with fries (not gf) instead of the salad ordered. And, there was a piece of some kind of chicken in the burger! The salad I ordered was supposed to be gf, but I am having a horrible gluten reaction... Don't trust this restaurant if you are a celiac!
Food tasted great but took forever. I ordered the four-cheese pasta with chicken right away, and the only thing that should have taken extra time was making the pasta GF - but it was at least a 30 minute wait. The kitchen also forgot to put chicken on the pasta, which was an extra 5 minutes. The waiter was good, the food was good, but the kitchen’s speed was not. Waiter checked to make sure a smoothie was gf for us before we ordered and confirmed we needed gluten free food. Look for the corkscrew pasta to be sure it’s GF.
For our last night in Oahu I just wanted fries, and the Cheesecake Factory doesn’t disappoint. I was so thankful to hear they cook their fries in their own oil. I ordered the Old Fashioned Burger with a slice of American and a side of fries and I was good to go! Andrea’ was so friendly, understanding, and cooperative. She went out of her way to make sure everything was on point.
I had one of the GF pasta dishes, and the server was knowledgeable about their GF process—he said all GF pasta was cooked in separate water/ pot, and there’s a GF label for the kitchen so they know the meal must be GF. I also had a slice of the GF chocolate cheesecake. I had no reaction or side effects :)
