Great service, food was good well served and not problems with gluten free. I’m coeliac so very important.
Severe celiac. Had two (2) great experiences during our week stay in Waikiki beach area. Ordered meals to go in person during dinner hours and had no issues. Staff was well trained and knowledgeable. More importantly the kitchen staff knows the process and each meal was clearly labeled. We had no issues and food was solid as what we expected from a good chain.
I specifically asked for recommendations on gluten-free dishes. I’ve asked according to the recommendations for a 4 chesse pasta. It was a horrible experience. Horrible. Until now I don't know if they sent me normal pasta (with gluten) or if they cooked the gluten-free pasta in the same water as the others. Right after leaving I've already started to feel really sick. I vomited everything and had several reactions. I didn't go back to complain, because if I look at the place I already feel bad.
The Cheesecake Factory has an extensive gluten free menu. Gluten free options include pasta, burgers (with buns), and cheesecake for dessert.
for it being a chain, the staff was knowledgeable and accommodating. got the burger and fries and it was pretty good. they have marked gf items.
I ordered the green salsa chicken enchiladas (they are made with corn tortillas), which came with a side of rice and beans. It was delicious!
I ordered a spicey GF pasta- it was ok. The Godiva chocolate cheesecake was fabulous!
I did order a Pasta and server must not have heard me. When he offered us bread I said I couldn’t have due to being GF diet and he apologized that he had ordered the wrong main meal for me and went straight to the kitchen to correct the order. He was most apologetic. The pasta was the softest I have ever had. The GF chocolate cheesecake was very rich but enjoyable.
Very limited menu What I had was en edible Seriously very hard to find food for GF
My family and I made online reservations and were seated immediately upon arrival. I ordered the GF Loco Moco. I have been wanting Loco Moco since arriving in Hawaii, and I typically can't get it because the beef gravy is made with flour.
Loco Moco is a traditional Hawaiian dish with an egg or two over a hamburger patty which all rests on top of a bed of white rice. It includes a rich, beef gravy which brings it all together.
The version that's made here includes a large beef patty which is almost 2 patties together, grilled white onions, 2 sunnyside eggs on top, and a large bed of white rice. Surrounding it is a rich, flavorful beef gravy with Shiitake mushrooms. The gravy is NOT made with flour, and the GF precautions taken are that they change gloves.
It was very delicious, and I took half of it to go because of the large portion size.
I ordered gf pasta and my dish came out with regular noodles mixed in! I noticed before I ate it but my stomach was definitely not having it. Cross Contamination 100% - they comped my meal but I’d rather pay and not feel sick on vacation! I didn’t eat so it should have been free!
I am not comfortable ordering from a large chain restaurant on a busy weekend night, but I gave it a try. Our server was very knowledgeable and helpful, offering great suggestions and substitutions to accommodate my gluten and dairy allergies. I ended up ordering salmon, asparagus, and rice. It's a pretty basic meal, but it was prepared well and I didn't get sick. (I'm very sensitive.) There are other options for gf, but I really wanted to play it safe and order the safest thing that I could find. I'd be comfortable going back.
Gluten free options clearly marked on the menu. I had the kalua pork sandwich with chips and enjoyed it a lot. Did not try any of the cheesecakes. The waitress went to alert the entire kitchen of my coeliacs and I feot very safe!
I got glutened here. All I ordered was a ceasar salad with no croutons, emphasizing that I had Celiac/gluten allergy. When my salad came there were bits of croutons left in there or so it seemed from picking them off. I think having informed and caring waitstaff would have gone a long way here. I caution that Cheesecake Factory is hit or miss for gluten contamination.
Not a great experience, very few options. They were out of gluten free buns and even taco shells aren’t GF. Ended up Having chips and guacamole and edamame.
I ordered the old fashioned burger with a lettuce wrap. It was a nice fat burger with fries cooked in soy/canola oil in a safe fryer. No reaction.
Updates: came here again for a quick, easy meal and had tasty food with no issues. Turkey burger no bun (they had the option of a GF bun but I wasn’t feeling it) and a side salad. The sever was really helpful and nice.
Old review: I went here with some hesitation because of the past reviews, but I had no issues. My server was helpful and I didn't have any problems with my food. I stayed on the safe side and had a salad. They do have a fun variety of options.
I ordered takeout and got a naturally GF steak to be safe, and when I called ahead the staff assured me they understood gluten allergies and I would have no problem. I am celiac and had no reaction, but my steak was nearly raw so the food, though safe, wasn’t worth the price to me. I also got the flourless godiva cheesecake which I heard was safe and didn’t react to, but on their allergy info menu it does say it has gluten for some reason so sensitive celiacs may want to avoid.
Although pasta was listed as GF on menu, when we called, they said they use the same pasta water as non GF pasta. Be aware of this!
However, once we sorted that out with the nice servers on the phone, I ordered something else that was listed as GF and it was fine!
The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly! GF choices are marked in the menu. The Bacon-Bacon Cheesburger was very tasty! Fries are separate fried.
Our waiter was brilliant, had GF burger meal and dessert for my daughter but unfortunately all the fries are cooked in the same frier we were told so had to give them a miss.
GF burgers are great, also had GF pasta which was very good. Pity there aren’t more cheesecake options we didn’t try the GF options there were only 2 available.
Surprising amount of gf options, even dessert items! The waiter didn't ask any questions when I requested the gf coffee cream cheesecake, but did make sure to tell me it was the gluten free one when he set it on the table. He then offered to pack our leftovers separately, so it seemed like he was conscious of CC. I had no issues after eating here.
Very gluten free aware, gf buns for burgers & fries which are done in separate fryer if requested. Food took a while but it was New Year’s Eve & busy. Will have to go back to try a cheesecake, couldn’t fit one in this time
great choices of gf options, waiter knowledgeable, great service and excellent food. had to wait ages for a table but worth the wait
Waited forever for a table ... balmy night in Honolulu, who cares! Staff were knowledgeable about Coeliac; food was great, big thumbs up!
I ordered the Cobb salad and was very clear about needing gluten free. I was assured it would be. Someone other than my waiter delivered my salad and I reinterated my need for gluten free. Again I was assured it was and I commenced eating. 1/3 of the salad eaten and my waiter returned. He was unsure about the salad dressing. Hmmm. He left and returned again to tell me the dressing had soy sauce in it. Dammit! The manager came by to apologise and said it meal would be no charge. Great. I will cross this restaurant off my list.
Definitely not celiac friendly. Waitress informed us that buns and burgers are toasted on same area as wheat buns. She also informed us they do not use separate water for boiling pasta
No, most definitely not celiac friendly. The offer gluten free " upon request". I requested, they failed, badly. They gave a gluten free bun, but upon the first bites of my salad I realized there was already dressing. I asked a waiter about that and the seasonings on my fish. He asked and came back and took my salad and said it was not gluten free and said that the seasonings should be ok, because it might only have a "little" gluten. I had already taken bites of everything and spent the evening sick. No apologies, no comp service.
Had the gf Americana burger and fries and boyfriend had the lemon-herb roasted chicken dish. Both were good and boyfriend, who has allergy, had no trouble after meal. We also shared the Godiva chocolate cheesecake with vanilla ice cream. If you like a lot of chocolate, that cheesecake is for you! Flourless chocolate cake topped with chocolate cheesecake and then chocolate mousse.
I am Celiac. I ordered the cheeseburger....fantastic! I own a 100% gluten free restaurant in Maui (yes 100%) and really wanted a cheeseburger (with a real bun) while visiting Oahu. I feel fine and will probably go back before we head home.
I had gf bacon cheeseburger with gf bun and gf fries cooked in a separate fryer. (After asking them several times to check!) the staff were very patient. It was definitely a treat! Gf choc cheesecake for dessert- only issue, I was too full to eat it all! Not ill at all, just very full!
We ate there twice and I had success both times. I was told fries had a separate fryer but didn't get them. Burgers were great and was told their dressings for salad all had a dairy component. They did offer vinegar and oil and brought bottle for me to inspect. Good thing as one was a malt vinegar.
Absolutely do not trust the GF on the menu. TELL THEM YOU HAVE AM ALLERGY. The GF meal I picked was salmon, broccoli and mashed potatoes just to learn the BROCCOLI is cooked in PASTA WATER. My stomach was so sick after leaving.
I have celiac and felt really good server was knowledgeable of what was safe and not. I would definitely go again..
We only came here for a piece of cheesecake. Their GF cheese cake is delicious! If you have a sweet tooth like me you must try it!
