I am not only a Celiac person but also a employee of the Cheesecake Factory. I have noticed it has gone downhill when it comes to Being taken seriously when it says gluten-free on the ticket. I have tried to eat at work many times and I get sick every time whether it’s a salad, burger or pasta. I have said some thing to not only the kitchen managers but also my regular managers and nothing has changed. I will be updating if it does. Don’t want my fellow celiac’s getting sick. Don’t get me wrong it’s a great restaurant and has great food and I love working there just wish the kitchen took it seriously.

One mention of allergies throws the kitchen in a head spin and they play it safe to the point where it's almost insulting.
The Cheesecake Factory has an extensive gluten free menu. Gluten free options include pasta, burgers (with buns), and cheesecake for dessert.
Well, I didn’t get sick, so that’s a plus. But I was extremely careful. I researched beforehand, and apparently Cheesecake Factory is kind of notorious for cross contamination with certain things, especially if you order gluten free pasta or things that normally have gluten but can be made gluten free upon request. I was recovering from getting sick a few days earlier, so I was extra careful and tried to order something that was naturally gluten free instead of “gluten free upon request.” Luckily I looked online at their nutrition information beforehand at https://www.thecheesecakefactory.com/assets/pdf/Nutritional_Guide.pdf. The physical menu at the restaurant only said “gluten free upon request” for any item, so I wouldn’t have know which were naturally gluten free. I made it clear to the server that I had celiac, and he said almost dismissively, “Oh, there’s gluten free marks on the menu.” So when I ordered I asked him to please let the chef know to be extra careful because I was very nervous and still recovering. I still can’t handle dairy yet as I heal. Most of the naturally gluten free ones had dairy. I ended up getting the pan seared chicken with corn replacing the mashed potatoes. It was fine tasting, but not filling. I was hungry when I left, and grumpy that I spent $20 for basically a chicken breast with veggies. The family enjoyed their food, but their bread crumbs got all over the table because you rip the bread with your hands. I was so nervous it would get in my food. They do have two gluten free cheesecakes. I had the Godiva one at Valentine’s Day when I wasn’t having issues with dairy, and it was delicious. And I didn’t react. But I don’t know that I really want to come back and spend so much money on rather disappointing food, and being paranoid about getting breadcrumbs all over.

My daughter ordered the roasted chicken with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The waiter understood my daughter was celiac and relayed that information to the kitchen. Out of an abundance of caution, the manager &/or chef recommended only eating the fries if the sensitivity isn’t severe because they couldn’t 100% guarantee no cross contamination of that menu item. We skipped the fries but everything else was safe and del ious - including dessert. I appreciated their coming back out to advise.

They have gluten free options or can modify some recipes to be gluten free. The server was not knowledgeable about celiac disease at all and told me twice that the food I ordered was gluten free...only to return a few minutes later to tell me that it wasn’t and I had to choose something else. She also did not ask of my being gf was a preference or an allergy, which I feel many restaurants ask these days. They do also note on the bottom of their menu that while they try not to cross-contaminate, their kitchens are not allergy free environments and they do use shared equipment (such as fryers).

Their gluten free chocolate cheesecake is SO GOOD! I only get a slice of cake because the food menu is not really safe. But I highly recommend y’all try it!

All I got was Salmon and vegetables which was bland to begin with but then afterwards I had to deal with feeling awful. Crazy how you can mess up such a simple and flavorless meal but Cheesecake Factory managed to do it! Don’t go here if you have celiac. NOT safe.
