Do not eat here!!!! I ate here two days ago and have been more sick than I have been in years. This is not just a cross contamination reaction. I ordered off the menu, said I had celiac and explained. I ordered the tequila chicken over beans and rice. There is gluten in it somehow.
First time needing G.F. menu...they were veru accommodating and made sure I was ok with season salt, Pico de gallo etc.
For the location inside the airport, just upstairs from security line. Very accommodating for gluten and dairy allergies, just ask for a manager to take the order to be safe. We have eaten here twice and had a great experience both times. Each time we asked for a manager to take our order and the manager was very knowledgable about cc. There isn’t dedicated kitchen space but the manager took every precaution and cooked my son’s food separately on aluminum foil. We ordered grilled chicken without marinade, broccoli and corn without butter since my son also has a dairy allergy.
at the to go window: when you ask if they can accommodate gluten free for celiac and they respond I don't know, look at the menu... are they annotated? no, but the ingredients should be listed.... Also walked to the actual restaurant, they couldn't find the GF menu, and so much was blocked out on a filthy greasy cover we just walked away... 0 confidence in this place
the server was wonderful and knowledgeable on celiac.
The staff was knowledgeable about their gluten free options. Considerate and listen to my questions on how gluten free meal is prepared. They provide a list of all food with their allergen that it contains on the table top kiosk. It also has a column for items which have the possibility for cross contamination. I tested my entire meal with my NIMA tester and all results were gluten free. (Skillet chicken fajitas with rice and beans).
I thought I’d make things easy for GF prep and order the fajitas to-go. I requested corn tortillas, & my receipt shows corn tortillas, but I got home & opened up the FLOUR tortillas they gave me. That was big disappointment. I proceeded to eat the fajita meat, but I could only manage a few bites because it was so chewy & had such an “off” flavor & the onions were undercooked. The meat texture was odd, & it didn’t look like meat. I haven’t eaten at a Chili’s in probably 20 years, & now I know why. I needed something quick & hoped I’d have a local takeout option for future meals. Big fail. I will not be back.
I order the margarita grilled chicken with no tortilla strips, rice and black beans. Make sure you’re very clear about your allergy and check your food though. They’ve accidentally given me tortilla strips twice but they were apologetic and made me a new one. It’s really good!
Went to this Chilis in Lubbock, and asked for all natural corn tortillas with salsa. The waiter informed me that they wouldn't be safe, although advertised as gluten free on the dietary information menu. Restaurant was also not very clean, with sticky menus and floors. Not very pleased, and ended up eating nothing so I wouldn't get sick. Wish they wouldn't advertise as GF when it actually isn't! One star.
Just a heads up.. the updated online gf menu and the electronic gf menu at the table aren't accurate. Be sure and have the waiter check with kitchen manager. Both menus said chips and fries are gf but luckily our waiter knew better and confirmed with kitchen manager that they are not gf.. likely because of how they are cooked. Our waiter would get 5 stars but Chilis carelessness with menu gets a 1...
Food is fantastic. Though was recommended the nachos as being a gluten free appetizer and they turned out to be made with a wheat/corn mix and I was sick for two days.
ABSOLUTELY NOT CELIAC FRIENDLY! I wouldn't eat here again. Allergen lists inconsistent, cross-contamination highly likely. No assurances of precautions. Little evidence that they're actually committed to providing safely gluten-free dining.
Mediterranean Chicken salad very tasty, ordered without dressing due to also have Type II Diabetes. No gluten free menu, have to go through table kiosk and go through nutritional info, very time consuming. Wait staff tried to help but we're quite clueless on gluten free.
Chili's has nutrition info on the ziosk unit at each table. Every menu item is listed and indicates which common allergen it contains. It also indicates items with "cross-contact". Going off this information, I ordered the honey chipotle steak and shrimp. it came with asparagus and smashed potatoes. It was delicious and I had zero reaction after. highly recommend!
This place may or may not be okay for people who are just avoiding gluten. But when you need to avoid gluten, dairy, eggs, and soy protein, it becomes very important to have someone who can tell you what ingredients are actually in the foods, and suggest items and substitutions that might work. This place is absolutely not safe for those with food allergies. The manager said they don't have ingredient lists for all their foods, and that she doesn't know anything about it except how to use the computerized kiosk.
I ate here (I'm a celiac) and didn't have any problems. I ate the loaded potato soup to start and had the chicken fajitas with no tortillas. It comes in a cast iron skillet so I asked it not be done in cast iron and served on a regular plate to avoid cc. I also ate the black beans. I had chips and salsa with no problem. They told me they had a dedicated fryer for the chips. Double check to make sure that doesn't change to be safe. They had a white binder of menu items for diners with allergies. It was helpful. I'd eat there again.
This is one of our date night go-to restaurants. The food is always excellent and I've never gotten sick there. I always make a big deal of my gluten and dairy allergies, and often ask for the manager if my server seems iffy. They have a gluten allergy menu that you can order from, but remember to always ask for special treatment, like a clean grill, etc.
I'd give it zero stars if I could. Worst service ever. Couldn't even tell you about the food, as I eventually walked out before receiving it. Guess I'll have some chips. Definitely will plan in advance for this airport next time.
Great selections on Chili's gluten free menu, however, the roswell location is a freak show when it comes to knowing what gluten free is. It wasn't the first time I received a plate covered in gluten after specifically saying, "gluten free... no bread", etc, and seeing as I hear of this happening to a number of my gfree friends often, it won't be the last. DO NOT EAT HERE if you have Celiac. Restaurant employees, one favor you can do for the allergen community would be to educate yourself on each allergen you have a specific menu for. It is the server's responsibility to take special interest in making sure the plate comes off the kitchen line without any bread. Chili's always fixes the issue, the initial wait time is already ridiculous... now watch the rest of your family eat their food while you wait for a new plate to come out.
I mean it's chilies so eat their at your own risk. I have Celiac and have eaten at the Capitola location on occasion for several years and never gotten contaminated. however I would advise you to look at their allergen menu very carefully and be super specific when ordering since most of the servers don't even know what gluten is. They do have good steak, chicken, fajitas, soup and salad that can all be made gf. Be forwarded their tortilla chips ARE NOT gluten free.
