This is the third time I’ve been to a Cooper’s hawk and first time at this location. All have been safe! The manager did not come talk to me like at the other locations but the food tested :) with my Nima and did not make me sick! I always get the Parmesan crusted chicken and my boyfriend got the gluten-free gnocci carbonara and loved it!
Ordered the gluten free lettuce wraps. Was in the middle of making one when a server came out with the Gluten free lettuce wraps. Turned out they gave me the wrong ones. Luckily I hadn't taken a bite yet. They were very apologetic. They were delicious! Also had the grouper, fantastic! Gluten free bread was good, too. Tested it with my Nima and got a smiley! Just be extra careful that you get the correct food!
Visited here for the first time and the server was very knowledgeable about cross contamination and gluten allergies. I have Celiac disease and am very sensitive to any cross contamination and I had no trouble here. I ordered the steak salad and they even brought out gluten free bread beforehand! I felt very safe eating at this restaurant and the wine was yummy too!
Although they have many GF options, the waitress I had needs to be trained better when it comes to gluten allergies. I ordered a salad off the gluten free menu and she brought it out with croutons on it. Other than that it’s a great place to go. Just make sure your waiter/waitress understands what GF means.
Cooper’s Hawk has an extensive GF menu, their wait staff are extremely knowledgeable about allergies, their food is amazing and I’ve eaten here multiple times now without getting sick. They have outdoor seating, a standing wine bar, a regular bar and formal seating. I would highly recommend this spot!
I LOVE this place! Their gluten free menu has multiple choices and as someone who has multiple food allergies I have not any problems with getting questions answered and making substitutions. The gluten free chocolate cake is indulgent! Can’t go wrong here!!
I had the lunch portion of the salmon. All naturally gf options. I appreciated the gf roll. I was looking forward to the gf brownie, but they were out- very sad as dessert is rare for me since I also avoid dairy. A bit pricey, but good; great staff and yummy wine.
Large gluten free menu, including several desserts to choose from. Food was good, my daughter loved her burger, I enjoyed my portables burger, although the roll was a little crumbly and it was a touch dry. They do have the best iced tea I've ever had- blueberry pomegranate. It was light, not too sweet, but flavorful. I'd come back just for the tea!
Cooper's Hawk opened at Easton Town Center in Columbus on Monday this week. Imagine my excitement when I saw they offered a gluten-free menu and my first thought was "I have to try it immediately."
So by Wednesday, I was eating there for the first time. Check out the size of this gluten-free menu....
They even have 5 gluten-free desert options!
I told our waitress about my gluten allergy and she made sure the kitchen knew I was there. They brought out the pretzel bread for my dinner date and a gluten-free bun for me to try.
We started with an appetizer of shrimp wrapped in bacon - delicious. The shrimp were large and I easily got 2-3 bites out of them.
Dinner was the pepper jack, bacon cheeseburger - the bun was a little much for me since I already had one when we first got there so I ended up eating the burger naked. There were several sides I could select from and I ended up with Mary's mashed potatoes.
I got a gluten-free brownie to take home and shared it with my husband. It was simply delicious. Light, fluffy and moist!
The manager even came out after my meal to make sure everything was ok and I enjoyed my meal. He explained the gluten-free process and that they are very sensitive to cross contamination and pride themselves on making safe gluten-free experiences for their guests.
After this tasty meal, I decided to bring my family last night to try something new on the menu. They've already been to all the places around us to eat so it was a great change for them to try something new.
Last night's meal blew the lid off of any other gluten-free meal I've had at other places. Wildfire Chicago is a close second to this dish.
I decided to try something totally new and went with the short rib risotto and it was best decision I've ever made. The meat was tender, moist and fell apart with my fork into the risotto. The sauce was incredible and the truffle oil on top with parmesan shavings tied everything together perfectly.
We ended the meal with some chocolate covered strawberries. They were ok, not the best but then again it's hard to compete with Godiva strawberries. I just didn't think they were ripe enough before being covered in the chocolate.
I do have one comment about the restaurant - we had reservations at 7:30pm. While we didn't wait longer than 5 minutes for our table, imagine our confusion when they were quoting people a 2-3 hour wait for a table and then there were at least 10-15 empty tables in the dining room when we were seated. Maybe it was lack of staff, but it was strange in my book.
This is my go-to birthday restaurant! Love their food and LOVE their complimentary gf bread. It's soooo good. I always get their pasta because I can't find rlly find that anywhere else. Their flourless torte is also to die for. Only downside is they have a habit to run out of ingredients sometimes, but they're very flexible in the fact that they'll substitute ingredients for you. Run out of pasta? Here's the same thing with risotto.
Went for brunch because they have the brunch menu and the regular menu available. They have free GF bread that is really good! I got the raspberry bellini, chicken risotto, and chocolate truffles (to go). Everything was so good and the risotto is filling (I had to bring some home for later). They have a truffles and wine pairing that I really wanted to try, but was too full to get to it, so I will definitely be back for that!
They opened recently. Met a group of friends and I was pleased to see they gave a separate gf menu with a large variety of options. The fries are made in a dedicated fryer. They even have several dessert options that are gf.
I had the grilled mahi sandwich with the Asian slaw. The bun was decent and didn’t fall apart right away. So a win, in my book. We also ordered a side of the wasabi mashed potatoes to try and they were delicious.
Service was a little slow, but we weren’t in a hurry so it was fine for us.
