I cannot eat at this location or any Cracker Barrel without getting glutened. They have a wheat free menu but it is wrong. Chef salad has gotten me, all vegetables got me, even the baked potato.

Good good but they stopped having a Gluten Free menus or even a Gluten Sensitive menus. Gotten sick past 3 times I've eaten there and was told the third time that they couldn't prevent Cross contamination with the way their kitchen was built. Very sad because our entire family lives to eat here.
There's a GF menu but there aren't any main dishes. It's all sides. The manager came to our table. His grandmother has Celiac and he personally said he would not feel safe serving us the meats due to cross-contamination. We asked him likelyhood that something with gluten (like seasonings) would get on our food. He said, "extremely likely". So we had the recommended veggies. However, with a 15yr old boy and a 21yr old girl, they were NOT happy. We will not be back until Cracker Barrel is more friendly.
This review is not specific to this location by rather the chain in general. If you have Celiac disease I do not recommend cracker barrel at all. they have updated their menu and the only protein listed is an egg. If you can tolerate just a veggie plate you may be alright. The only reason I gave one star is that the review would not save with less
The menu on site does not include the meat options, but don't despair! Steaks and fish are seasoned before going on the grill, so you just have to specify which seasonings you want. (Chicken is marinated, I think, so check before ordering) Talk to a manager to be your go between with the kitchen to clean the grill and you should be fine!
I have celiacs and feel safe eating here. They have better choices than most fast foods and I appreciate the time they have taken to even make a menu. Every waitress we've encountered there has been cautious and alert to our allergy.
They gave me a menu and the manger didn't want to give it to me? The waitress says she always gets GF and lactose confused. I nicely educated her . I explained my allergy and placed my order. It was delivered wrong with none of the stated modifications. The manger couldn't care less. Said yes we make mistakes and here is the corrected meal. I am not impressed. Staff not educated.
Friendly staff. They have a menu but it's a listing then a real menu. The manager is not educated on gluten-free or his food. So you have to just go off the list. So don't expect the cooks to know what gluten free. But if you order it just like the list you will be fine and it will be good.
When asked they provided a gluten free nutrition guide. I ordered off of it but something definetly had gluten or became cross contaminated. I had a hamburger steak, mashed potatoes and fried apples. I was hoping I had found another place to eat that was gluten safe, but after a miserable afternoon I won't return. I should have known when waiter and hostess neither one were familiar with gluten.
This restaurant used to be a favorite of mine years ago prior to becoming gluten intolerant. I am happy to say can add them back into my favorites column once again. They have a gluten free menu with more options than just salad to choose from. My disappointment is that the Hashbrown Casserole is not gluten free and has to avoided. Other than that one concession the rest of the menu I used to favor is still available for me to enjoy. Just let them know when they are seating you that you are gluten free and they will give you the gluten free menu which also has low carb options.
There isn't a separate gf menu, however, there is a nutritional guide available. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful. I had the grilled chicken tenders, plate-licking mashed potatoes, ice cold apple slices and deliciously tangy coleslaw. There are many options and no reaction.
SAFETY WARNING. Do not eat at this Cracker Barrel location. There menu may claim to have gluten free options, but staff here is so lazy, rude, self absorbed, and incompetent that if you ordered anything and told the servers about not being able to have gluten due to a sensitivity, allergy, or Celiac Disease, you would still be going home violently ill. They do not take food restrictions or allergies seriously. This is a very bad Cracker Barrel with very uncaring staff from servers to managers. It is not safe eating here, and I did write to headquarters which did not care to correct the problem and gave me the run around. Yes, they were told that if anyone got sick, hospitalized, or dies, they are criminally responsible. This is just not a good place to eat. If you want good food in Morganton, try Denny's, Judge's riverside, or root *& vine.
Last time I went in I was told they no longer had a GF menu. This was around Mother's Day 2016.
I have never been sick, but the disclaimer makes me uncomfortable.
Horrible. I was just passing through town and thought a chain would be safe since others have had luck with Cracker Barrels offering a dedicated gluten free menu. Not only do they not have a gluten free menu at this location, but the server had no clue about any allergens. I finally got a "menu" that was pretty much instructions for the kitchen staff on what they could offer. All they could offer is eggs, salad and very few sides (corn, carrots, sweet potato), but even with those items they say they can't guarantee anything. They don't have a dedicated frier or even grill space and they don't want to have to clean anything to prepare one meal. After asking to speak with the manager, I found that even their grilled chicken even contained flour. He seemed apologetic, but that doesn't help me much. Ended up not eating anything and watched the others in my party eat while I sipped my water. Skip this place and find the Fig Pig (which I later learned was nearby) instead.
"I was told by the hostess to tell you server that you are gluten free and then they will bring the manager to speak to you. When you order the manager will flag your order for extra precaution." Update: 4/2016 Ask for a gluten free menu... They have one- in the nutritional information guide. Servers very nice and understanding.
Breakfast was very good! I have Celiac disease and had no issue with cross contamination. The cheese grits were amazing. They use a lot of corn meal in their items. They have a separate gluten free menu. The only downfall is not gluten free bread.
This should not even be on this app. When I asked about gluten free they gave me a "gluten friendly" menu which in small print stated nothing can be guaranteed as gluten free as the items are only "low gluten" I spoke to a manager who was clueless about it and I informed him how misleading this is to people who actually can't eat any gluten and he still was clueless. End of story I ended up leaving and going elsewhere where I knew I wouldn't get sick.
