I had a salad with grilled fresh fish if the day (topsail I think.) The fish was good but the salad was just basic, nothing special and some greens were wilted. The dressing was strange, a thick, creamy avocado type but no real flavor.

Basic simple menu of GF options (grilled foods). Good but nothing wow.

We ate dinner here a couple times last week. Waitress was knowledgeable about the GF selections and there are several. The various fish selections can all be prepared separate and GF. The food is very good!

Delicious! They have a gluten free menu which is so nice and our waitress was super helpful! I got the parmesan snapper with their gf fries and corn on the side. So yummy and the view from the restaurant is gorgeous too.

We went for dinner. They have a gf menu. The waiter was not friendly and didn’t give the feeling he knew about gf. I had mahi blackened, corn, red potatoes and the cole slaw. I got very sick after.

Separate gluten free menu. I was not confident, in staff while ordering so I waited to write this review. They do have a separate fryer So order the fries! Food was ok. Did not get sick, I notice usually immediately

Food was just ok. The server was short when discussing the gluten free menu and seemed too busy to want to chat. The hostess and lady up front were really great, and told us everything gf comes with an allergy stick, so that’s nice.

We went last night and had a very knowledgeable server. They still have the dedicated fryer. Our server went back and made sure. I kept asking for him to make sure due to the previous post. My daughter got the sirloin with corn & fires. Great meal! She was so excited to get fries at a restaurant!

FYI the fries are no longer cooked in a separate fryer and apparently haven’t been for a year now. Very disappointed :,(

They have a gluten free fryer so I was able to enjoy the fries. They offer a substantial GF menu. My waitress verified with the chef it was gluten free.

First time at this location and I can say it is better than the Navarre location. They had a gluten free menu with a ton of options. My waiter was very knowledgeable and said if I didn’t see anything on the gf menu he could help modify most things on the menu. I ordered the blackened grouper dinner with French fries and corn. Best grouper I’ve ever had and Did not get sick at all!

Stephanie was so knowledgeable and SO HELPFUL!! I got the bronzed snapper and it was AMAZING!! They have a gluten free menu and the fries are cooked separate! My fish was flagged with an allergy tag too:)

The server was very knowledgeable and they had a gluten free menu. The fries are cooked in a dedicated fryer. My food came out separately with an allergy sign on it. The person that brought it out to me had in gloves. I had a great experience! I got the catch of the day snapper grilled with fries and corn on the cob.

Went to the original Dewey Destins and the grilled fish was excellent. Seemed to be quite a local spot with very fresh seafood. Mine was gluten free. I just asked what they could fix gf and the grouper was great.

I ordered the crab legs from the GF menu with the only available sides of half of an ear corn and new potatoes. Although it was a good amount of food, this meal was not good. I’m not sure if it wasn’t cooked well or if it was a bad batch of crab, but it did not taste good and neither did the sides (no seasoning, butter, flavor). My friend, non-celiac, ordered grilled shrimp with same sides and she said the same. Definitely not worth the money and did not taste good at all. We also both developed cramping, nausea, and upset stomach after this dinner. I would say both celiac and non celiac as should avoid all together. We had a great waitress which was the redeeming part of the night! Otherwise spend your money elsewhere! We ended up here because Boshamps had an hour and a half wait but thinking that would have been better than this!

READ WHOLE REVIEW: Best fresh fish in Destin! I had the braised snapper, one of the fresh catches of the day, best fish I’ve ever had! I had red potatoes and corn on the cob with it and a nice mixed drink- which they had a list of options on the gf menu. I’m celiac and no reactions... went back again several months later (here’s my update) , fish still amazing, potatoes and corn still same options unfortunately. So after trying Boshamps the next night, I’d say go there. Same price but more options and even better atmosphere and a more satisfying meal with fresh catch of the day very comparable!
Yes
Nice selection. Server knowledgeable and accommodating. Great view from the deck of the beach, marina and gulf.
Staff was friendly and they have a gf menu that was pretty extensive. I had the broiled grouper, sides weren’t that impressive which is why I gave 4 stars. My husband, not celiac, had an order of the bacon wrapped shrimp stuffed with crab and said it was phenomenal. Great place to eat and outside is a very nice area to lounge around - nice and shaded.
Items listed on GF menu were not. Fries cooked in same oil as other food. Grill seasonings not GF. They were however careful with what they could provide. Would be better if they updated the menu.
Sooooo bummed. Made special trip for gluten free hush puppies. We were told after ordering they are NOT gf. Food was mediocre.
They had a gluten free menu but our waiter was not knowledgeable about the menu in general. He told me the vodka was not gluten free but the manager said it was. I am also dairy free and he couldn’t tell me what had dairy in it and wouldn’t swallow his pride to go ask someone who could. I think it would have been fine if we had a different server.
The staff gave me a gluten free menu, which it was limited but there were still some options. I ordered the Parmesan Maui Maui, with corn and French fries and had no reaction. I also ate their crab dip without the crackers and just a fork. I also had no reaction.
Yes
GF hush puppies... suspicious. We’ll see how I feel tomorrow. Decent menu selection and a manager brought me the food.
I informed the staff right when I got there that I have celiac and cannot have any gluten or I get extremely sick. The lady at the register wasn’t sure what i could have but went and grabbed someone who did! She suggested salads and anything steamed. Which is great because all I wanted was the steamed snow crab legs! I got spicy, assured they use a gluten free seasoning, and they were amazing! I did not get sick at all. Very happy with my experience there.
I ordered a lunch salad with grilled fish, from the waitress who had retrieved a gf menu at my request. It arrived, looking beautiful and I dug in to it. After a few bites I found that the fish was resting atop a bed of croutons! A single “sorry” was the only response, and I waited for my replacement dish as my companions dined. Beware of this place.
I got bronzed triple tail on a garden salad with balsamic dressing. My plate was served separate from the group with an "allergy" marker by a gloved server. I couldn't have felt more confident in their ability. I am more sensitive to cross-contamination than any one I know and anyone THEY know. My meal was tasty and I did not get sick. The gluten-free menu had other options with sauces that looked enticing. But this was my first experience...so I kept it simple. I would love to go back and try their other entrees and sides.
Yes
The food was really good. They had a GF menu and plenty to pick from. My meal came out on a separate serving platter than the others and was marked with an allergy stick for easy identification. And I didn't get the tiniest bit sick from the meal. I would definitely go back.
Good food, nice atmosphere, pretty big menu for gluten free. Would definitely go again.
Huge cross contamination issue here. They weren't sure what was gfree and what wasn't!
No
No GF menu but many choices that are most likely GF. Some of the best fish we ate here.
One of the best meals I had while in Destin. The staff is very knowledgeable. I'm highly sensitive to cross contamination...no problems!

My extended family was vacationing in Destin for the week. Of the 12 of us, 3 of us eat gluten-free (one diagnosed celiac; two in the process of being diagnosed). After having many sub-par meals, I am happy to say that we loved Dewey Destin's. They had a good sized gluten free menu, and the wait staff was knowledgeable and helpful. We liked it so much that we ate here twice. The food quality, both gluten-free and "regular", got rave reviews across the board. The atmosphere was casual and we loved the harbor view.
