****Updated - September 2023***

It appears that they’ve updated the menu, such that there are slightly more GF options. There’s a shared fryer, but since the fries are hand-cut (and not battered) you can get the Steak Frites or burger without bun. If you want to avoid the fryer entirely, an appetizer of street corn and wedge salad are both GF.

I ordered the burger and fries, brought two slices of GF bread from home to use as a bun, and didn’t have a problem. Still not a great option - or even a good one - but much less bad than it had previously been.

Original Review:

It’s a brewery. They make wheat-based beer. Going here of your own violation would be a very bad idea, because virtually everything - including the salad dressing for the most basic salad - has beer in it. I didn’t even bother to ask about a GF menu.

That said, I went with family who love beer and so I ordered the regular burger with no bun and slaw (not wanting to trust the fryer for obvious reasons). It was a very boring meal and just okay, but I didn’t have any reaction and was able to eat with the family.

Not much gluten free here. They had burgers which could be made without the bun, but no lettuce wrap available. No GF buns. They also had tacos, but no corn tortillas so they would have to convert the tacos to salad bowls. Most salads are gf, but a lot of the dressings have beer in them so would have to order without dressing. Wait staff was knowledgeable and honest with what restrictions they had.

Dogfish Head Brewing and Eats, and the original restaurant that was here at 320 Rehoboth Ave was my daughter’s favorite. Disappointed that there are no Gluten Free menu items. It just really isn’t that hard.

Not very gluten friendly at all. Waitress said “we’d have to shut down the whole place to make a gluten free beer”. No great GF meal options. They have a shrimp taco that they can MAKE GF. The waitress made me feel stupid for even asking.

Very few options and waitress seemed to not have any knowledge of issues. Manager also seemed to not care. Very busy place so I guess they can afford to not care.

I've been eating at Dogfish Brewpub in Rehoboth for years. I used to eat here with confidence and enjoyment, but their spiel concerning cross contamination has gotten more dire in the past three years, and what with finding tonight that they have discontinued production of Tweasonale, my relationship with this place has ended. Against their advice, I had some "contaminated" grilled salmon, and happily I'm not suffering any tell tale symptoms. Still, the legalistic greeting and server's insipid banter that I can have only greens with oil and vinegar -- and no beer -- makes their chosen business model (and mine) perfectly clear: Gluten free diners, take your business and money and family someplace else. I will do so.

If I could give 0 stars I would! PLEASE believe the reviews you see on here! This restaurant should NOT be suggested for GF dining. Tried it...thinking I could at least get a salad without croutons...WRONG! They told me the ceasar dressing had gluten in it because it contained Lea & Perrins Worchershire sauce(however, Lea & Perrins does not contain gluten)!? I then asked for the manager so I could confirm I could indeed have the dressing and he stumbled through his words saying "No you shouldn't have it" but he didn't know why!? When we arrived and asked for a gluten free menu we were told they did not have one but the servers would have suggestions of substitutions. They were not knowledgable at all on gluten free and I sat not eating while my family did because I didn't want to risk it(1st time that has ever happened)! I don't understand why they didn't they just say no, sorry we don't have a GF menu and we aren't knowledgable. Very disappointed in this establishment!

Terrible. Overpriced small menu without any gluten free products. I ordered a side of grits that were severely undercooked. I will not return.

Why is this on this app at all? Except for serving the elusive Tweason-ale GF beer there are NO options here. An online menu deceived me saying there were GF buns and pizza crust, but when we arrived it was all for naught. Definitely a no-go because the waiter couldn't recommend a thing beyond a plain salad.

My friends wanted to go here for dinner and seeing the last review was from 2 yrs ago I was hoping they had a GF menu by now, but sadly do not. The waitress seemed knowledgable and informed me nothing was truly GF because of kitchen practices. I ended up w/ a pub salad w/ oil & vinegar dressing. <yawn> But at least I didn't get sick!! (I am non-Celiac gluten-intolerant.)

You can't go wrong with the T'weason Ale. It's always on tap when I go there. If beer isn't your thing though this is the only place to sample Dogfish Head's hard liquors. I recommend their brown honey rum. I built my own burger last time (sans bun) and it worked out fine for me. The staff is very knowledgeable about Celiacs and helping those who are gluten free.

This is not a gluten free friendly restaurant. Beer, salads are it. They grill and fry in same oil so it is not a good place.

Has a gluten free beer (seasonal). Be careful of food as they DO NOT have a dedicated fryer despite offering fries on their GF menu. Would recommend asking questions before ordering to confirm GF items.
