Pizza was absolutely amazing - it’s one where I triple checked with the waiter that it was gluten free because it looked so good. I do wish their menu was labeled for the other menu items, but staff was very nice.
This Emmy’s was much more spacious than our location in Athens, GA. Great selection of bourbons & ciders and the cocktail menu was good too. The Blake’s blood orange & cranberry cider on draft was awesome!! The gluten free pizza was wonderful as always. However, there were bread crumbs in my Caesar salad, even though I ordered without. Tried to sanitize my mouth as soon as I encountered it, but still got a little sick. Blame it on the waiter, who was friendly, but seemed a little in over his head and not knowledgeable about gluten allergy. I would still go back to this location!
I was so excited to eat here before we went to watch the Savannah Bananas as a family! Recent reviews on here for Emmy Squared were great so I couldn't wait. Our server was very nice and even made sure the cheesy bread sticks could be made GF. Unfortunately either the bread sticks or the pizza ingredients were not all GF and while my family got to enjoy the game, I spent most of it in the first aid office severely ill. I had a 2 hour trip home throwing up in a trash bag and as good as the pizza was it hasn't been worth the week of sickness that I have been dealt. My warning to you is eat at your own risk if you are a Symptomatic Celiac. I think I'll just go back to packing my food.
The waitress was very knowledgeable of what I could and couldn’t eat. I loved the Brussel sprout salad with the dressing accommodation. The pizza was amazing! Thick crust and crispy edge. I’d definitely eat here again!
Pizza was OK, but the crust seemed dense and undercooked. Definitely not worth the price for what it was. I've had several gf Detroit style pizzas across the country (Detroit, Vegas, even Louisiana) and this was the worst.
I had dinner here with 4 friends & ordered the gluten free Margarita pizza. I’m severely reactive to gluten & before we finished our meals I was sick with gluten contamination. This is the first time I’ve eaten at a restaurant & was sick before the bill was paid. Eat at your own risk.
This is the best gluten free pizza I have ever had! It’s a Chicago style deep dish with perfect toppings, flavorful sauce and amazing crust!
Best pizza ever! They have the dough put together and ready for toppings somewhere else (use Cup4Cup flour). The waitress told me that it doesn’t come out of the pan until it’s ready to serve. Pizza is really good. Detroit style. Really nice to have a deep dish type of pizza made with fresh dough. It was excellent.
Wow, the reviews are spot on. Absolutely delicious Detroit-style pizza, very knowledgeable about gluten. The place is NOT dedicated GF however and does serve regular pizza. While I am not dairy-free, the menu states they have pizza options for those folks as well.
The menu has many other items, although only the pizza is clearly labeled GF. However the staff seems knowledgeable enough I would feel comfortable ordering other items after discussing with them.
The best news is that the crust holds up for reheating!! That’s right, pizza leftovers that won’t turn to mush in your fridge. Awesome!!!
Had the GF pizza and it was pretty good. Not the best in CLT, but a nice find. I went in at 345 during the week and I was the only person in the restaurant. The server wasn’t well versed, so he called the manager over. The manager explained they have a dedicated space for the pizza and everything is separate. The pizza is cooked on a metal grid/pan. They have a vodka sauce and a marinara sauce. I’m with marinara sauce.
They do have a vegan cheese. Not my thing… Lol. When I asked about the mozzarella cheese, the Manager was not sure. He did go take a picture of the ingredients so I could look at it, and I did not see any gluten containing anti-caking and ingredients. Please see pics. They were all very nice.
The gf pizza was nearly indistinguishable from the regular. It’s a scientific achievement I must learn how they did it! The waitress was new but they have a QR code on the menu that brings you to a pdf that shows all the allergens in each food item. I ordered the Big Ang and it was delicious. No tummy issues after.
