Desserts are dry and not good. Uses spelt and some ingredients are not safe for celiacs.
Super limited selection, not great tasting and I reacted hugely before finding out they use Bob’s Red Mill flour which tests at 19ppm, not good for the super sensitive celiac.
The donuts are so good. I always end up buying way too many things when I go. Everything is gluten free.
Gluten free and vegan bakery. Mini brownies are my favourite
Love the chocolate chip cookies!!!
Definitely celiac friendly, but for a place with such a good reputation their bakery doesn’t exactly blow me away. Their cupcakes are pretty mediocre and their doughnuts are definitely sub par. It’s also really expensive. The staff are really knowledgeable and attentive though.
Definitely worth a visit. Best gf donuts we’ve had and all sorts of yummy goodies.
Friendly staff. Had a vanilla glazed donut and coffee. No issues or reaction.
Fantastic service, place, and baked goods!
Friendly staff, GF and quality baked goods.
I am an extremely sensitive Celiac, and I have never once gotten sick here! Everything is amazing, and it's the only place I eat baked goods that aren't my own! I have never had a problem with Bob Mills flour, but everyone is a little different (based off a previous review). It is a little expensive, but for great gluten free and Celiac safe baking, it's totally worth it!
Tasted great , gluten free
Moist and flavorful gluten free cupcake. Donut was okay. Eclair was tasty.
It's heartbreaking to go to an "all gluten free" place and learn that their food isn't actually safe for you to eat. Good thing I specifically asked employees about their ingredients... I learned that they use Bob's Red Mill brand flour for all of their menu items--which is NOT certified gluten free by the GFCO, and contains about 20 ppm (parts per million) per serving of raw ingredients. If I would have listened to the reviews here and the business' claims of gluten free safety, without doing the extra checking myself, I would have gotten very sick. If you are incredibly sensitive and react to anything containing more than 10 ppm (part per million) of gluten, definitely do NOT go here--unless it's to request that they change their ingredients to be legitimately gluten free for people with severe celiac disease :( I wish that everyone would include in their reviews the exact amount (in ppm) of gluten which they are sensitive to. This is not the first time I've been led astray by well-meaning reviewers who are not highly sensitive.
The moistest pastries/donuts/bread I've ever had! Everything was delicious and the staff was great!
Zero gluten, all vegan. Open 9a-9p or later! I bought too many items! So far I've tried and loved the cookie sandwich and the mint brownie cupcake. So rich and delicious! I also bought a thin mint cookie and a few day-old donuts, which is apparently what they're known for. Their eclair isn't soft, but made with crisp cookies with a creamy filling; good but not what I think of as an eclair. When I'm in the neighborhood, I'll keep them in mind.
Some delicious and some average goodies. We have to eat GF, but vegan isn't a norm for us. Maybe that's why we felt some of the treats were lackluster. The highlights were the lemon eclair, thin mint cookie, and lemon pound cake. I'd skip the donuts and brownie cupcake.
we ordered cupcakes, scones, donuts, and cookies all of them were great! Everything is Vegan as well. Very friendly and helpful staff.
This bakery is a little slice of heaven for people with food allergies. It features baked goods without gluten or dairy. My favorite thing is the "ice cream" cookie sandwiches made with ginger cookies. The cream is actually their non-dairy frosting. Delightful! I also love the donuts. They taste more like cake, as they're not deep fried. Also, the cinnamon rolls are awesome. This isn't a health food store, so don't expect low calorie options. Just awesome baked goods!
Excellent sweets, always attentive staff, and though a bit expensive I couldn't ask for better.
Love this place! Anything is good and 100% GF. Been there so many times and never reacted.
I was informed that not only are all of their baked goods gluten free but they are also soy free, which was great for me as I am allergic to both. I had a cinnamon-sugar donut that tasted like lemon but it was moist and didn't crumble like a lot of gf options I've tried. I also tried a plain biscuit and was shocked by how spicy it was. Yes, spicy! I don't know if they gave me the wrong flavor or what but it had chilli flakes in it and I thought I was having an allergic reaction to it at first because I wasn't expecting any heat. I guess if you like spicy biscuits, this could be great, but it wasn't for me. Also, it was a bit pricey. A donut and biscuit cost me $9. Also, they have freshly made gf bread on the weekends.
Doughnuts are bomb!
THANK GOD THIS PLACE EXISTS!!!! Amazing and delicious!
tasty, but limited quantities and ridiculous prices
Amazing. My GFGF was very happy that all she can have all their items!
The baked goods are delicious. But for the price you pay, the customer service should be improved. The staff's a bit snotty for my taste.
The donuts are too die for!!! Vegan and gluten free
Read the stars- best GF cupcakes. Ever. The Babycakes app is a must-have.
Had a DELICIOUS pumpkin cupcake with vanilla frosting yesterday. I've been waiting for this location to open for a while and it did not disappoint. A bit pricey, but I'm willing to pay more for quality. Also, you can purchase yesterday's goods at a discount. Now when my husband gets a treat on Larchmont, I can too! Yay!
Can’t say enough good about this place if you are vegan and gluten free! I’ve been here probably 6 or so times and then I’ve also been to the one in Disney Springs the same amount of times.. love the donuts!!! The breads are amazing too, had chocolate raspberry and lemon.. the “bagel” that I had in NYC wasn’t anything like a bagel but it tasted good.. I can’t remember all the items I’ve tried but out of everything go for the donuts! I’ve had the ice cream in Disney Springs and it’s soo good, not sure if NYC has it.
Sad to say their cupcake recipe needs some tweaking, but their donuts are off the charts amazingly good. I'm not a donut person, but I'd easily turn into one if this shop were closer to me. Their donuts are the best gf baked item I've had thus far. They're now my go to bakery & I highly recommend. Adding due to recent visit: they have pretty good bagels. Donuts still the yum!
We came to NYC just for this bakery! 100% Gluten Free and Vegan! Tree Nut Free too. PERFECT for our allergies/celiac disease. We were in heaven here. Cute little shop, friendly staff, awesome music, delicious donuts, brownies, cake, bagels, cookies, etc! Going back for more today!!!
WOWZA! I walked in and although not a large selection of items, still overwhelming of what to get. I finally asked the nice girl behind the counter what the best item was. She told me Samoa Donut! Sold!! As I have been unable to have the staple Girl Scout cookie for years. It was AMAZING!! So soft, full of flavor! Awesome, awesome!!
Super fresh, right when they opened in the am. Loved the cinnamon sugar, chocolate covered and sprinkles donuts. Lemon cake was delish and apple churro was yummy- more like a donut. Was reluctant to try bc did not enjoy treats from Orlando location, but very happy we did!
Delicious and a favorite since they happen to be by my parents apt! The only complaint I'd give them is that their cupcakes and donuts always have a grainy taste to them which just tastes gf when I know from running the official gf of nyc they don't need to taste like that but I love their thin mints!
I live in LA, and we have a Babycakes near us (same company), so when my friend asked me to pick up a couple of gf cupcakes for her wedding in Brooklyn, I knew exactly where to go. I pre-ordered a half dozen. On the day I arrived, they pulled a lovely assortment with some inventive flavors (banana with maple frosting), and I also got some churros. (So GOOD!) The staff even recommended a nearby pizza place (although it wasn't as good as I had hoped). A few hours later, the cupcakes were a little dry, which is not outside of my experience with their counterpart in LA, but that also didn't stop one girl from having three. :) A great little bakery. I recommend everything except the cupcakes. The churros were even fantastic the next day.
Thin mint cookies were good but not enough to go out of my way for them. The chocolate eclair was good but not great. The staff were not welcoming until I engaged them to ask a question and place my order. Overall it was a disappointment given we went out of our way to stop in while visiting from out of town. I had high expectations and was slightly let down.
It was wonderful to go into a bakery and have EVERYTHING be GF. I was a bit overwhelmed! I should have tried a variety of things, but I tried the cupcakes mostly. They were good, but not fantastic, and unfortunately did not hold up AT ALL to the 2-3 hour walk home. The frosting was not my favorite, but everyone has different tastes... I would still go back if I am in NYC to try a doughnut :)
I'm unable to eat gluten, dairy AND sugar cane, so I had given up on ever eating baked goods that I did not make myself. my sister told me not so and in fact I had a decent number of options and the three types of cupcakes I tried were very tasty. a bit muffin like but satisfied my sweet tooth. need to find out how they manage to make their delicious frosting!
