I had a fantastic experience here! Our server was very knowledgeable about cross-contact. Our server marked up a copy of the menu to give to me with the items I could order clearly labeled, and also offered a few simple off-menu pastas they could make for me. In addition to wheat I'm allergic to dairy and tree nuts, so Italian restaurants usually don't work for me. I didn't have a ton of options (which was very understandable) but all the food I did have was excellent. They make their GF pasta in-house and it was the best GF pasta I've ever had. The lamb ribs were also amazing. I was here with my non-food-allergic spouse, and I really appreciated that all of the servers would clearly say what allergens were present in each dish as they gave it to us so that I didn't accidentally eat something my spouse had ordered.
We were really pleased with our experience here! Every meal was enjoyed. It is a fine dining restaurant which is a nice treat, I ordered a meal with fresh truffle and they weigh it out and slice it at the table for you. Between three people we had two shared appetizers and an entree each and were all full after our meals. I will say my food could have been a bit warmer but it was still some of the best gluten free pasta I have ever had and the service was excellent.
Menu was self explanatory to find the gluten free options. The food was alright, however, the price to portion was astonishing. My girlfriend took me out for my birthday thinking it sounded like an amazing place with all the reviews, come to find out the portion was so small we ended up having to go to another restaurant cause we were starving afterwards. We had little to no service besides the food coming out as well. This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve encountered. Take precautions that you overpay for food presentation and not the food itself.
Hands down one of the best dining experiences ever! GF or not! The complex and sophisticated combination of flavors and spices made everyone in our party salivate regarding each and every dish. Our entire table ordered gf and they recommend everyone share all dishes. The branzino dish was outstanding and all of the other dishes were terrific! Can’t wait to return!
This is one of my favorite restaurants to go to in Boston. Every time I come, I feel confident that the food is safe. Some of my favorite dishes include the tuna tartar, The farmer’s market salad (no croutons), the mozzarella sticks, and the chicken milanese. They also have a great selection of gluten free desserts, the Tarmisu is amazing.
Great food and knowledgeable about gluten/celiac. Had lamb ribs, octopus, bolognese with gluten free pasta, and branzino. Gluten free tiramisu for desert was great too. Lots of options, definitely on the more expensive side but delicious. Restaurant atmosphere is also super nice, this might be my new favorite restaurant in Boston.
We absolutely loved our meal! The entire menu is designed to be tapas - we ordered mozzarella sticks, eggs in purgatory, and chicken milanese, all gluten free (my fiancee has a gluten allergy, I do not). Our waitress asked if the gluten allergy was cross-contamination acceptable, to which we said no and she handed everything perfectly for us. Service was great and we definitely will be back!
Amazing experience, atmosphere and service. All the staff was knowledgeable on Celiac, menu is labeled and most anything can be modified or is GF. Got the mozzarella sticks, potato chips, lobster pasta and bolognese - all amazing! Homemade GF pasta as well, in different shapes! Make sure you make a reservation as it gets really busy, and is a on the pricier side but worth every cent.
They have a separate kitchen for GF food prep, and actually write “celiac safe” on the menu!!! Amazing. Loved eating here, can’t even tell the homemade GF pasta is GF and so many GF options that I didn’t feel limited at all. Great service, waitress was so knowledgeable, I felt incredibly comfortable eating here. The Tiramisu is soooooooo good.
What an experience! It was a pricey meal (with cocktails) but I regret nothing!! Food was good and it was a fun tasting experience. Nice to have a little of a lot rather than a lot of a little. Bartender was super knowledgeable and I felt very safe in ordering. When they brought the food, they would tell us what it was and say this is safe for celiac. The one dish that I did order he went back to make sure that they could make it gluten-free and he said that they would have to change out the type of pasta and asked if that was all right. Definitely will be back again when I’m in Boston and my only negative is that this isn’t in Texas where I live!
I haven’t felt so safe and normal dining out since my diagnosis. I didn’t need to ask my server nine billion questions - I just told her I had Celiac Disease and just like that the kitchen was told “fire: lamb - gluten allergy” (along with the rest of my table’s dishes). Our server explained their service style was meant to be shared so my BFF ordered GF dishes and it was just like any other fancy meal with my bestie back in the day. The food was fabulous, but dare I say that the cocktails are a tad fabulous-er. They are pricey (as is the food), but worth it. This place is LOUD and pretty dark - like eating in a movie theater. I didn’t love that, but there’s no doubt that I will return.
Had dinner here on Saturday and it was the first time since my diagnosis that I was able to have squid ink pasta. It was delicious. I was also able to split a mozzarella stick appetizer, and share a risotto dish. Both were good. The menu was marked with GF, the waiters were patient and knowledgeable, and the gluten free food has its own kitchen.
This restaurant is amazing. They are so careful about food prep, and they can make almost anything on the menu gluten free. It’s sort of tapas/ family style place where they encourage sharing and several courses, and bring food to the table as it is ready, not all at the same time. We had a party of 4 and ordered two appetizers to share, and then each ordered a main dish, and shared those as well. Obviously you don’t have to share if you don’t know the others in your party that well, but it gave me the opportunity to taste lots of things on the menu, and there was nothing that I didn’t like. The flavor was amazing, and the wait staff would announce whether each plate was Celiac safe for me as they put it on the table. Everything my party ordered was, so I was quite happy. I’ve never been to a restaurant for that had as many GF options unless it was a dedicated GF restaurant. They even make their own GF pasta fresh daily, and a number of desserts were also gluten free (even tiramisu!) which is not typical. I didn’t react to anything at all. I highly recommend the restaurant, both for their taking gluten free needs very seriously, how lovely the wait staff was, and for how amazing everything tasted.
Had a great time here and loved every thing that came out. Fabulous service too. We had grilled octopus, mozzarella sticks, squid ink trottole, and orecchiette baresi. Baci di Dama and Solera for dessert. The Sicilian Bumble is a must try drink.
Came back and had the bolognese - was great. Good date spot. Sicilian Bumble no longer on drink menu.
Incredible! Almost the entire menu can be gluten free, the menu explicitly says “celiac safe” The servers are very knowledgeable and aware and were awesome with my cousins dairy allergy as well! Everything was shared at our table and when they came out with each dish they noted which were safe for dairy free and which were gluten free. We ordered most of the items off the menu to share with the group and it was so awesome being able to share without worry!! PSA they also will sell their homemade pasta to go and cook at home!! Another absolute star of a restaurant from Ken Oringer.
We had the most incredible dinner here last night! In addition to Celiac, our son has a tree nut allergy and this restaurant was super safe. My husband has Celiac. We had the mozzarella sticks, grilled asparagus, chicken milanese, pasta with bolognese sauce, hangar steak, tiramisu and another spectacular dessert! Everything was incredible and the service was excellent! Highly recommend!
Incredible meal! I especially appreciate how menu items were marked “celiac safe” and not just gluten free. The gf pasta was delicious and my gluten eating husband said he wouldn’t have been able to tell that it was gf. The dishes were creative and so yummy. I will be going back! Special bonus- all deserts were gf😍
Had the most amazing waitress, she was extremely knowledgeable and was able to advise me of any dishes that were unable to be made gluten free - although most of them could. The menu was marked and they take celiac seriously, with no cross contamination. The food was beautiful and can’t recommend this place enough if you are nearby! Definitely worth the visit
The vibe and ambiance are on point. The burrata and mozzarella sticks are delicious. My husband said his vegetarian pasta (not GF) was okay, but my cacio e pepe was SO salty. The portions are very small, so by the time I considered sending it back to the kitchen, I had already eaten a good percentage of the dish and didn’t feel like I could ask for it to be remade. My husband ate the second half of my dish and agreed there was no way he’d be able to eat all of it because of the salt. The dessert was also good, but if I’m being honest, my palate had already been ruined by the salty pasta. I appreciate the safety of having a separate kitchen to allow for house made pasta. The dishes were plated beautifully. However the salt really ruined it for me, and the bill ended up being $160 (two apps, two pastas, one dessert, no drinks). Really pricey for tiny portions and inconsistent taste. And only a handful of choices if you’re also vegetarian.
The waitress assured me that all GF items are prepared in a completely separate kitchen and their fryer, located in the main kitchen, only fries items that are GF. The mozzarella sticks were incredible but I got the GF cacio e Pepe and it was so extremely salty it was inedible. My husband got the bolognese and while it was also super salty it was fine enough to eat. Personally I think the food is overpriced for what it is and I wouldn’t eat here again but I did not get sick so a win is a win.
Pricey but delicious & unique items to order that are gluten free & marked on the menu. Fried artichoke, mozzarella sticks with caviar, grilled octopus, spaghetti lobster & other pastas were all delicious. They could also make pastas gf even if they weren't marked by subbing some ingredients & the gf pasta.
The service was incredible and so was the food! Our server made me feel extremely comfortable about eating there as they have an entirely separate GF kitchen with its own fryer. The mozzarella sticks were the best I’ve ever had. I also got the risotto di funghi which was so flavorful! I will absolutely be returning here. Felt so safe eating here and didn’t get sick!
