I used to feel safe eating here. The waitress said, we have been instructed to say we cannot guarantee your food will really be gluten free. We make no guarantees, ok? I said, "No, not ok. Her attitude makes me want to call management and explain how to keep a darn kitchen safe and how to tell your servers to speak to people to reassure them even if you can't "guarantee." Be specific if you go and talk to the manager.
They have a thorough third party allergen list. And gluten-free options and substitutes for many items. Very friendly and knowledgeable about food safety.
Beverly, that's a paid ad by Pamela's pancake mix. It's a recipe and not an ad for the restaurant. I thought it was (also) for the restaurant until I clicked on it. I had a wonderful breakfast of eggs, avocado and fruit. I always tell the waiter wherever I eat I am gluten intolerant/Celiac and please let the chef know cross contamination will make me sick. I dined with non Celiac's who ordered with bread and we all enjoyed our meal and I am fine. We all thought it to be delightful and will go back.
Ad states best GF pancakes! First Watch does NOT carry GF pancakes or any GF bread products (which is not hard to provide). I do not consider this chain GF friendly😠
The best breakfast for sure - fresh local ingredients! They take gluten free allergies very seriously!
Went this morning. The full site has a gluten-free guide located under menus and nutrition. The guide will instruct you how to order from the menu when ordering gluten-free. I initially couldn't find it on my phone so they printed it out for me when I got there. The server put a big square on the food slip with gluten-free on it and told me that they take their gluten-free orders very seriously. I happened to sit at a table with a view of the kitchen. I heard someone call allergy window and saw a server walk over to the sink and wash her hands and then walk back to a plate that turned out to be mine, pick it up and bring it to my table. The service was friendly and accommodating and the food was very good
I eat at First watch frequently and have no issues. I find they have a decent selection, I typically get the traditional breakfast substituting the potatoes with the fresh fruit. I get the gf toast and they broil it in the oven for me since the risk of CC in the toaster. I have also enjoyed omelettes. The staff is always friendly no matter which location I have visited.
A few safe options. No gf menu, but there was a QR code with allergen info. A vast majority of the items were marked as containing gluten just because it was served with bread, even though gf bread could be subbed. Server noted gluten allergy on the order, and she also went back to notify the chef of my needs and to change gloves. I had the quinoa protein bowl which was ok. Not gonna be my first choice of restaurants, but I did feel like I could get a safe meal here.
Our server Maggie was fantastic! She was extremely busy (Sunday morning) but she was kind and patient with my many questions regarding gluten free items and how they were prepared. Our food was out quick and safely (I appreciated the separate delivery and the pick that stated my food was gf). Everything was DELICIOUS!
