The kitchen is small so they don6t have a dedicated GF cook surface, however they said they used a newly washed pan to do my food and tried to limit cross contamination. I orded the traditional breakfast and they served gluten free bread. The hostess and waitress were very supportive and helped me work through the menu to order a GF breakfast.

Asking for info regarding gluten was a hassle from the very beginning. Staff were not sufficiently informed to answer questions. Instead they left it to the customer to research allergens on a list that was incomplete and hard to decipher. This is NOT a gluten friendly facility. Done here at your own risk.

Need to tell your server you have celiac. They have gluten free bread available but no dedicated toaster so you can’t get toast. Their omelettes are safe with some adjustments - I was told the salsa was not safe for my bacado omelette. None of the salad dressings are safe. Very limited options but it is possible to get something safe as long as you communicate with your server and they communicate with the kitchen.
We had a new waitress who knew nothing but after the second time she couldn’t take our order brought get over another waitress who was knowledgable about the menu. Was sure the hollandaise was gluten free. The knowledgable waitress explained nothing was dedicated gf in the restaurant, cross contamination an issue. There was a QR code with extensive allergy info but 13 pages. Overwhelm for me just to eat breakfast
As soon as I said I have Celiac, my server told me I could have absolutely nothing on the menu. It was a really frustrating experience. I ate fruit and drank coffee.
No
Other than eggs or fruit, they only had one breakfast item that was gluten free. I couldn’t even have the gluten free toast because they admitted to using the same toaster. So what’s the point??!!
No
This is a fantastic place for breakfast, brunch, or lunch! Their staff was very knowledgeable. They assured me that they change gloves and cooked my food in a clean skillet. I had an omelette with greens and a piece of GF bread. They did not toast the bread because they don’t have a way to guarantee that it is safe. I had a very pleasant experience and I will be back. They do have a disclaimer on their menu but I felt safe and did not have a reaction.
Yes
There’s an allergen menu that you have to scan on your phone. They have a dedicated GF space in the back (including a toaster). There’s a reasonable amount of stuff to order as long as you get the GF toast. I didn’t experience in cross contamination and the staff seems knowledgeable.

Several decent selections for breakfast/lunch and good safety measures. GF bread/toast available for breakfast or sandwiches, and they said can do gf French toast with it (which we haven’t tried). I asked about butter and they said gf toast always comes no-butter, which made me happy for kitchen safety. Eggs and bacon were good, and lots of gf omelet options. Grain bowls also gf using quinoa.

To start off, I have been to First Watch many times with and without my family (who eat gluten-free), and every single time the staff has been accommodating and very friendly.
They have plenty of gluten-free breakfast options with foods that are inherently gluten-free (eggs, bacon, fruit, etc.). You can substitute any bread on the menu for gluten-free bread, including the french toast! They always ask if you have a gluten allergy to make sure the kitchen accommodates you.

I am bummed. Food was delicious but my stomach is paying bad. I told the server I was extremely allergic to gluten and she seemed understanding. I shouldn't have came here. ☹ it's things like this that make me never feel safe eating out. I know there is a warning with it being a chain but at other locations I haven't had a problem.
